00:00Malaysia's road network today extends over 260,000 kilometers and we can proudly say
00:16that it extends among the most well-maintained in the ASEAN region. Now this achievement is
00:25built on decades of commitment by Department of Works, Malaysian Highway Authority and our
00:32highway concessionaires, guided by forward-thinking policies from the Ministry of Works.
00:39Recently, or during the ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, a photo posted by the Press
00:49Secretary of the US President, Donald Trump, went viral across social media. He showed
00:56the President's motorcade gliding along one of our highways accompanied by many
01:02comments highlighting the smoothness, cleanliness and the beauty of Malaysia's
01:08infrastructure. I suppose we deserve an applause for ourselves for that.
01:13Now that simple post, viewed by millions globally, reminded the world and ourselves that Malaysia
01:25has built something exceptional. It reminded us that our hard work, innovation and discipline
01:33in infrastructure development have not gone unnoticed internationally. But more importantly,
01:39it serves as a motivation to do even better. We take pride in what we have achieved. But
01:46we must also have the courage to reimagine reform and reinforce because maintenance is not merely
01:56about roads. It is also about national dignity, safety and future readiness. And with that in mind,
02:04the Ministry has also taken bold steps to translate this spirit of collaboration into action through
02:13My Jalan. My Jalan, the nationwide citizens' engagement platform that empowers the rakyat to play an active
02:25role in maintaining our roads. What began as a simple reporting act has now grown into a movement
02:34that unites communities, government agencies and local authorities under one shared mission. That is to ensure
02:44safer and safer and better roads for all. Now, since its launch by the Yama Brahmat Prime Minister himself
02:53in August 2023, tens of thousands of issues have been reported and resolved, proving that when technology
03:00meets public participation, impact happens at a scale. Beyond its function as a mobile platform, My Jalan
03:11symbolizes a culture of shared responsibility. The reflection of our belief, the road maintenance is not just
03:20the duty of the government or the government agencies, but a collective national effort. It embodies the whole
03:28of nation approach. We are driving across all levels of infrastructure management, harnessing data, transparencies,
03:38and a civic pride to strengthen Malaysia's maintenance ecosystem from the federal highways to village roads.
