"Covered in blood": Eyewitnesses describe UK train stabbing that injured 10

#GlobalNews British police said a knife attack on a train on Saturday that injured 10 people was not being treated as a terrorist incident and that two British men had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.   Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic and confusion on the train near Cambridge in eastern England. "I look at my hand and it's covered in blood. And then I look at the chair and there's blood all over the chair. And then I look ahead and it's blood all over the chairs," said Olly Foster, a passenger on the train who witnessed the incident.   Another eyewitness, Wren Chambes, said she initially thought it was a Halloween prank, but quickly realized the severity of the incident when she heard other passengers shouting about the attacker.   British Transport Police said counterterrorism police were supporting its investigation whilst it works to establish the full circumstances and motivation for the incident.

00:00In the UK, 10 people have been injured following a mass stabbing attack on a train.

00:11The incident took place on Saturday on board a train from the city of Doncaster to London.

00:16The train made an emergency stop in Huntington shortly after the stabbings were reported.

00:21Police say they have arrested two British men and are investigating the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident.

00:27Authorities are ruling out terrorism as a possible motive for the attack.

00:57They have attempted murder. Both were born in the United Kingdom.

01:02So, initially I heard some screaming and shouting, calling for at least a carriage or two down.

01:08And then I made eye contact with another passenger, a dad called to me.

01:13And it was clear that something was going on, we didn't quite know what.

01:16And then a minute or so later, a man comes running down with a very clear wound, bleeding quite badly on his arm.

01:25And I thought it was like some sort of Halloween prank at first.

01:28But then he's shouting that someone's got a knife, he was stabbed.

01:33And then a few more people come running down the train.

01:35And then I grabbed my bag and my coat.

01:37And then I got up and moved forward down the train after them, trying to get as far down the train as they can.

01:43And that was kind of initially when I was like, oh, OK, something's happened.

01:47I was in Coach H. I was literally just listening to Audible on my phone.

01:52And then I had guys suddenly run past going, run, run.

01:56There's a guy standing literally everyone at everything.

01:58At first, there was a few of us kind of looking at each other, like thinking, was it a joke?

02:01Like, it's Halloween, I'd be pranking.

02:04But then you could kind of see in their faces they were being serious.

02:06So I kind of got my stuff and I was running.

02:09And everyone was really pushing behind us, really panicking.

02:12And at this point, I was kind of asking questions like, what's going on?

02:16What's happening?

02:17Like, who is it?

02:17And they were like, a guy's just stabbing everyone back there.

02:20And then I put my hand on this chair, like just trying to push myself forward.

02:26And then I look at my hand and it's covered in blood.

02:28And then I look at the chair and there's blood all over the chair.

02:30And then I look ahead and there's blood all over the chairs.

02:32And I'm thinking, OK, this is pretty serious.
