00:00What will make you say, I accept Islam, or Islam makes sense, it is reasonable?
00:04What will make me?
00:05Back in the day, a stick turned into a freaking snake and they split the sea.
00:08If that crazy stuff goes down again, maybe I'll give it a thought.
00:11You know what I mean?
00:12If I see someone walking right down the middle of a sea that's been split wide open.
00:16You know, Jesus, Moses, Mohammed, someone like them popped up.
00:20Back then, handling people was tough, people were messed up, some of them doing God knows what.
00:25So some dude stepped up and was like, how are we going to get them on the right track?
00:28This is how.
00:30When we look at Islam, when we consider the proofs provided by Islam, we can think of it as a palace with a hundred doors.
00:37If there's a heaven and hell, which I don't really believe there is either.
00:41Would you say, I believe in it, if you see it makes sense?
00:43Would you say, yes, it makes sense, I believe in it?
00:45Sure, I'm a man of logic. I go by what makes sense.
00:48If it made sense to me, yes, maybe I would start believing right now.
00:52Do you mind if I post this on YouTube?
00:54No, post it. Go ahead.
00:55We are trying to do interviews about beliefs. Do you have a belief in anything?
00:59No, I don't believe in anything. I'm a deist, but I believe in Allah.
01:02So what made you become a deist? You were a born Muslim, I guess?
01:06No, I was not a born Muslim. It doesn't make any sense to me, honestly.
01:10Well, have you ever searched for, for instance, Islam or any other faith?
01:14I didn't look it up, not by myself at least, but people were telling things.
01:18I grew up in a neighborhood. There was a mosque right next to us, whatever.
01:22Most families had children attending Quran courses, our friends.
01:25Basically, it's that same old dialogue we're familiar with, but it never made any sense to me.
01:29What will make you say, I accept Islam or Islam makes sense? It is logical.
01:34What will make me? Something unique has to happen.
01:36I don't know, like we need to see pink snowflakes falling off or something.
01:40Otherwise, I ain't buying it.
01:41It has to be something unique that they want to make a movie about.
01:44This is the only way I'd walk towards any religion at this point.
01:47Gotta be some unexpected twist.
01:49Exactly, like a beast has to come out of nowhere or something.
01:51Like something's going to rise up out of the dirt.
01:53Well, if you could find the logical side of the faith, if you could see the logic in it,
01:57would you say, I believe?
01:58Would you say, yes, it makes sense. I believe in it.
02:01Sure. I'm a man of logic. I go by what makes sense.
02:04If it made sense to me, yes. Maybe I would be a believer right now.
02:07Then, let me give you an example. I will say it very briefly.
02:10But I guess you are in a hurry.
02:12Let's think of it this way.
02:13For example, you want to give a message to the whole world and you published a book for it.
02:18As a teacher, as an important teacher, would you publish it in an alphabet that no one knows?
02:24I mean, if I write in an alphabet, everyone knows. It would reach a larger audience.
02:28You would teach more people.
02:29Exactly.
02:30Would it make sense to use an alphabet that no one knows?
02:32If no one gets it, spreading it doesn't make much sense.
02:35What I want to point out here is you believe in a creator and I believe in a creator.
02:39Since the creator we believe in created the universe, it's like a book.
02:43There is a vast meaning and wisdom in it and that's where we are searching logically.
02:47Of course, he will not create this world in such a way that no one can understand it.
02:51There has to be someone who can answer questions like,
02:53Why was this universe created?
02:55Who am I?
02:56Where am I going?
02:57Why was I created?
02:58There must be a prophet to teach the answers to these questions.
03:01God would not leave us with a world we don't understand.
03:03He also wouldn't leave us without a teacher.
03:06A teacher to explain this world.
03:07Just like the example before.
03:09If we are to write an educational book, we would use an alphabet that everyone can understand.
03:14We would write it like that.
03:15Just like this.
03:16We say the creator who created this world must send a prophet to explain this universe.
03:21I mean, I listen to a lot of people.
03:23I have so many Hafiz friends, etc.
03:25There are tons of people in our neighborhood.
03:27So I listen to them.
03:28I went to the mosque and I perform prayers and so on.
03:31It doesn't make any sense to me, brother.
03:33Okay.
03:33This is what you think then.
03:35There is a creator.
03:36Yes.
03:36And he didn't send any prophets.
03:38As we said, if it's written in an alphabet, it needs to be explained.
03:40So you send it with a training method.
03:42After being created in this universe, you and I want to find answers why were we created.
03:47Where are we going?
03:48Don't you think there should be someone to answer these questions?
03:51So, what do you think?
03:52I mean...
03:52Is it logical that he left everything meaningless?
03:55Look, I just tell you what I think.
03:56I don't believe.
03:58You know, Jesus, Moses, Muhammad, someone like them popped up.
04:01Around that time, to control people, he was a smart man, actually.
04:05Around that time, to manage people, people were messed up.
04:08Some of them doing God knows what.
04:09There were lots of evils, you know, and a lot of filth.
04:12Some dude stepped up and was like, how do we get them in the right path?
04:16This is how.
04:17That's what I think, at least.
04:18But when you consider the logic we talked about before, you are someone who believes in the creator.
04:22Based upon that, I say, the creator sent a prophet.
04:25Prophets who could explain to you about the book of the universe he wrote.
04:28Look, I want to tell you a verse that couldn't have been written by a human being, okay?
04:32The verse was revealed.
04:34Surah Al-Masad, maybe you've heard of it.
04:35It mentions that Abu Lahab is going to go to hell.
04:38So, it says that he will certainly die without faith.
04:40But Abu Lahab was living at that time and he died about seven years after this verse was revealed.
04:45Then we can conclude this.
04:46One cannot know whether a person will die as a believer or a disbeliever because he cannot know if he is believing in his heart or not.
04:53We cannot know how he will die.
04:54But the verse states, he will burn in a flaming fire, meaning he will die as a disbeliever.
04:59And he really died seven years later without faith after this verse was revealed.
05:03If a man were to provide this information by himself, he would jeopardize his prophethood.
05:07It is stated that Abu Lahab will die without faith.
05:10He could have lied and say, I believe in him.
05:12He could have confuted the information and the knowledge that the verse states.
05:17But that person, just like the verse said, died seven years later while declaring, I don't believe.
05:22Then we can say, this is something that a person cannot know on his own because I can't know who has faith and who has not.
05:28A person cannot know this.
05:30I see.
05:31Okay.
05:32So, a person cannot know how a person will die or whether he will die with or without faith.
05:36Even if he is very intelligent, he could not take the risk or make any claim that would call his prophethood into question.
05:41There is one who sent this book.
05:43It is the proof that it was sent by Allah.
05:45We say that a person cannot know this.
05:47There is also such information in the first three verses of Surah Ar-Rum.
05:50It mentions the war between the Romans and the Persians.
05:53It says, they, Romans, will reverse their defeat with a victory.
05:57And about nine years later, this war happened and the Romans won.
06:00In fact, again, it provided information from the future that a person cannot possibly know
06:05because in the beginning, the Romans were defeated by the Persians.
06:09Their defeat was so overwhelming that they became desperate enough to sell the gold in the churches.
06:13I mean, they were going through difficult times.
06:15While the whole world had said that the Romans were to be wiped off the world, the verse was revealed.
06:20It said, they will reverse their defeat with a victory in a few years' time.
06:24Nine years later, the war took place and the Romans won.
06:26Quite the opposite of what everyone assumed.
06:28We say, a person cannot make this claim anyway.
06:30He would not risk his prophethood, even if he is very intelligent.
06:34But here again, I see in another verse that Allah has revealed that a man cannot know this.
06:38As we said in the beginning, if there is a book, if there is an alphabet,
06:42everyone needs to understand it because you're trying to teach something.
06:45Then, the one who created the universe should send a prophet so that I can learn why I was created.
06:50And when I look at the book he sent, the Holy Quran,
06:52I clearly see that a person couldn't have written it on his own.
06:54Back in the day, a stick turned into a freaking snake and they split the sea.
06:58If that crazy stuff goes down again, maybe I'll give it a thought, you know what I mean?
07:02If I see someone walking right down the middle of a sea that's been split wide open, this thing.
07:07Then, I'll definitely think about it.
07:09If I see the Noah's Ark or something, if something like that happens, okay.
07:13I mean, of course, I respect my friends who believe in any religion no matter what.
07:17Of course, I respect all my friends and people who really live as decent people
07:21and believe sincerely, not just for show or fake their beliefs.
07:25But for me, there are only good and bad people.
07:29That's what matters, to live as a good person.
07:31If there is a heaven and hell, which I don't really believe either.
07:37If they really exist.
07:38I try to live my life as a good person as much as I can.
07:42By the way, I don't claim that I am a good person.
07:45Wouldn't it be better if we do this?
07:47Let's imagine a palace with a hundred gates.
07:49One of these gates is open.
07:51Ninety-nine of them are closed.
07:52Now, just because 99 gates are closed, we can't say, I can't enter that palace, right?
07:57One open gate is enough.
07:59I mean, I won't enter.
07:59I always knock on the doors.
08:00I say that.
08:01When we look at Islam, which we have been talking about, when you look at the evidence provided
08:05by Islam, we can think of Islam as a palace with a hundred gates.
08:08Let's say 99 gates are closed to you.
08:10Let's say 99 pieces of evidence make no sense to you.
08:13But I say, even if there is one piece of evidence that makes sense to you, one open gate is more
08:18than enough to enter the palace of Islam.
08:20It is possible.
08:21I mean, as I said, maybe later, I am 26 years old and I am young.
08:24Maybe you'll die on your way.
08:26Maybe.
08:27Instead, look at the miracles we mentioned.
08:29The miracle of the Surah Ar-Rum, the miracle in the Surah Al-Masad, or the logical deductions
08:33we have been talking about.
08:34You can think of these as that one open gate.
08:36The thing that will tempt me is like a unique event, such as a miracle.
08:41What kind of miracle?
08:42Maybe the salvation of humanity, in an interesting way.
08:45Then, I may consider.
08:47You say you have to experience a miracle.
08:48Then I'll read what's written again.
08:50I'll see.
08:50I mean, I don't know.
08:51Then you need to experience something personally.
08:53Definitely, brother.
08:55I'm off to dinner.
08:57Is it ready?
08:57I'm off to dinner.
08:58Thanks.
08:59I'm very pleased to meet you.
