00:00There are two kinds of people in this world, those who stay on top of their email inbox
00:04and those who don't.
00:05And today I'm going to show you how to easily manage your Gmail inbox so it doesn't give
00:09you a sense of crippling anxiety and general malaise.
00:11Now, Gmail inboxes are notorious for collecting spam and trash emails.
00:16That's my character!
00:17I'm the trash man!
00:19And while I'd recommend throwing the entire service in the garbage along with all those
00:23tracker riddled emails, I recognize that you've got friends and important services that are
00:28connected to your Gmail account, so let's go ahead and make the most out of a bad inbox.
00:33Let's start with an easy one, deleting by sender.
00:35All those emails from the gym that you signed up to six months ago but have only been to
00:39twice, forget about them.
00:40So type in the sender's email to the search bar, hit enter, check the box at the top, then
00:44click the blue text that says select all conversations that match this search, then trash them.
00:49Next, maybe my favorite method is deleting by date range.
00:52Who needs emails from six years ago?
00:54Not me.
00:55Click the search bar in this format, after 1-1-2020, before 1-1-2021, for example.
01:01Hit enter, then the box, and then the blue text again.
01:03And trash them.
01:04Next, deleting by label.
01:05Now, if you were once organized enough to categorize your emails like this but still have an overflowing
01:10inbox, something must have gone horribly wrong, and for that I apologize.
01:13So hit the labels panel and select the label, the one that you want to get rid of, and the
01:17same process.
01:18Just trash them.
01:19If you're real confident that you don't have anything of importance in your mailbox, you can go ahead
01:23and do the same process with all of your emails.
01:26Just hit the top box, and once again hit that blue text, and then trash them.
01:30But as I was saying before, you can do better than Gmail.
01:33With ProtonMail, you can take advantage of aliases, custom domains, and more.
01:37Privacy is Proton's bread and butter, and with no ads or trackers, you'll have peace
01:41of mind when sending and receiving emails.
01:43And we even have an easy switch feature to make your de-googling process as seamless as
01:48possible.
