00:00I never wanted to make a video like this, ever.
00:02Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're exploring the most infamous times famous YouTubers were deceptive on camera.
00:08Also, they could bring in that sweet ad revenue from folks watching their content.
00:12It's unbelievable.
00:15Yovana Mendoza.
00:16For years, if you were looking to get tips for living a vegan lifestyle, this was the place to go.
00:20So, I have been following a low-fat, raw vegan lifestyle for a little more than a year,
00:26and I have learned that eating more simply is a lot better for my digestive system.
00:33Under the name Ravana, Mendoza promoted the benefits of fruits and vegetables as well as staying away from animal products,
00:39all through demonstrating what she consumes day to day.
00:41So, forget about this.
00:45Eat your fruits and veggies, guys.
00:46Well, it turned out that wasn't exactly true.
00:49In 2019, while eating at a restaurant with other influencers, one briefly streamed the others, including Mendoza.
00:54She awkwardly tried to hide the dish in front of her as it contained fish.
00:58With her fans outraged, Mendoza put out an apology video where she explained that while she's lived a raw vegan life for years,
01:04she had to recently incorporate non-vegan foods due to health issues.
01:07I know that so many of you, you trust me, you listen to me, and you probably feel deceived and lied to,
01:15and you're in your whole right to feel that.
01:18Nico Omolana.
01:19Not all YouTuber lies are career-threatening.
01:22If anything, sometimes the person can look better as a result.
01:24In 2022, Omolana released a video where he met with the Grand Wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, Tom Robb.
01:30First off, Thomas, could you just tell us about the KKK?
01:33When people hear the name KKK, all kinds of images come to their mind.
01:38Traveling to Harrison, Arkansas, Omolana got the white supremacist to take part in the video
01:42after convincing Robb he was representing the BBC.
01:44So could I come to this church?
01:46No.
01:47No.
01:47No.
01:47Okay.
01:47No.
01:47Makes sense.
01:48Yeah.
01:49Yeah.
01:49Fair enough.
01:50However, unknown to the interviewee, it wasn't the UK broadcaster, but a much different acronym.
01:55Like a Bart Simpson practical joke to Moe in The Simpsons, Omolana got robbed to read out names
01:59that sounded very different when spoken aloud, including one that resembled BLM.
02:03And then we got a Bielum?
02:06Biel.
02:06Biel?
02:07M.
02:07Biel M?
02:08Yeah.
02:09So he's the best, I guess.
02:10Shout out Biel M.
02:11I'm a shout out to you and then.
02:13So shout out to who?
02:15To Biel M?
02:16Yeah.
02:17Liver King.
02:17At one point, you couldn't go on any social media site without being shown Brian Johnson.
02:22He heavily promoted his lifestyle, claiming that if viewers wanted to look like him, they
02:25needed to consume lots of raw animal meat and organs, hence his Liver King moniker.
02:29I believe in the fundamentals, like liver and bone marrow, and a nutrient-dense, nose-to-tail
02:34diet.
02:35Yet despite medical professionals condemning the dangers of the diet, that didn't deter
02:38Johnson.
02:39Neither did the accusations that he was using steroids, which he heavily denied.
02:43We did some dips.
02:44We did some muscle-ups.
02:45We did some toast-to-bars.
02:46We did whatever we wanted to do.
02:48However, that changed in 2022 when leaked emails from Johnson were discovered that showed
02:53he was spending $11,000 per month on steroids, performance-enhancing substances and testosterone.
02:58While Johnson apologized in a video, some furious viewers issued a lawsuit against him for fraud
03:03in 2023, which was later dismissed.
03:06Again, thank you to everyone for the support, the criticism, the love, the hate, and above
03:12all else, the loyalty.
03:15True Crime Case Files
03:16For some, artificial intelligence is a useful tool.
03:19For others, it's a plague on society.
03:21Since the tech has become more accessible, various YouTube channels have popped up that
03:25heavily use AI.
03:30One genre that's been heavily affected is real-life crime.
03:32True Crime Case Files was one such account, yet it made no mention that it was using AI
03:37anywhere.
03:37Richard Angelbert was a 48-year-old man living in Littleton, Colorado.
03:42He was a well-known real estate agent in the community, often seen driving around in his
03:46sleek black BMW with a license plate, Sexy Realtor.
03:49Problems soon arose when people searched online for articles about cases it covered, only to
03:54find that people mentioned didn't exist beyond the channel's content.
03:57Even local news reporters were contacted about the murders, only to have no knowledge of the
04:01crimes.
04:02With an increase in problematic content and the channel spreading false tales, True Crime
04:05Case Files' YouTube channel was terminated in 2025.
04:08It's a tale of manipulation, deceit, and the devastating consequences of living a double life.
04:14Ned Fulmer
04:15During their heyday, everyone had a favorite Try Guy, as each attracted different demographics
04:19towards them.
04:20For Fulmer, he was the wife guy.
04:21I would say that the biggest transformation for me was the kitchen.
04:26Oh my god, yeah.
04:27It was just night and day.
04:29Often talking about and expressing his love for his wife Ariel and their kids, he was the
04:33family man for the team.
04:34However, in 2022, the facade was exposed when Fulmer was seen and recorded cheating on
04:39his wife with his employee, producer Alex Herring.
04:41Do we have an endurance round after this?
04:43Yeah.
04:43This vastly inappropriate relationship forced the other Try Guys to remove Fulmer as a co-owner
04:49of the brand, as he was digitally removed from already filming content.
04:52While Fulmer and Ariel seemingly stayed together for a couple of years, upon releasing his new
04:56podcast, it was confirmed that the couple had split in 2025.
04:59People ask me, like, do you forgive Ned for what he did?
05:07And, I mean, the answer is no.
05:11Absolutely not.
05:13Tana Mojo and Jake Paul
05:14In 2019, the social media landscape was treated to another love story as Mojo and Paul began
05:19dating and made several videos together.
05:21I'm having a breakdown.
05:22Tell it me, sister.
05:23It only honks when you're rich.
05:25Yet their relationship escalated quickly as two months later, they were engaged.
05:29Then, a month later, with cameras from MTV No Filter, Tana Mojo present, they tied the knot in Las Vegas, Nevada.
05:35Or did they?
05:36Am I actually moving in?
05:38Or is that just for a video?
05:39Um, I feel like married couples normally live together, right?
05:47Alongside reports that they left the venue separately, it was discovered that Mojo and
05:50Paul didn't have a marriage license in the state, and the officiant wasn't accredited.
05:54Because I think that legally binding yourself to someone takes away the love.
05:58As such, this fanned the rumor flames that the relationship was all a sham.
06:01On her reality show, Mojo admitted the marriage was a lie and it was all for content.
06:05They broke up in 2020.
06:07Logan Paul
06:08In 2016, Paul became a meme when he uploaded a video showcasing his reaction to trying on
06:13special glasses that cured his colorblindness.
06:15His over-the-top reaction, especially when looking at a sunset, was a particular highlight.
06:19Dude, I am losing my mind.
06:21Look at this sunset right now.
06:23A year later, he admitted it wasn't true, which he has confirmed several times over the
06:26years, often with giddy excitement.
06:28The gist of it is, I got these glasses and they cured my colorblindness.
06:32Well, that was the title and that's what I made it look like.
06:35The influencer turned wrestler stated that he pretended because he's a storyteller, which
06:39apparently, truth is not welcome within.
06:41While Paul states that he's colorblind, he admitted that his reactions were exaggerated,
06:45especially when he put on the glasses and saw no change.
06:47He also confirmed that when he claimed his bird was one color, despite it having several
06:51shades on its feathers, he was joking for effect.
06:53I know for a fact, Maverick is not all yellow.
06:57Jordan Cheyenne
06:58Everyone knows that vloggers tend to embellish their lives to make them more interesting to
07:02viewers, but Cheyenne destroyed this suspension of disbelief in the worst way.
07:05In 2021, she accidentally released an unfinished video of herself and her son in the car.
07:10Put your head down here.
07:11They were talking about their puppy getting a serious disease.
07:13However, footage was left in that had Cheyenne coaching her son on how to react to look sadder.
07:18She completely ignored her son's genuine tears over his dog.
07:21Act like you're crying really quick.
07:23I am crying!
07:24As backlash mounted, Cheyenne deleted the video.
07:27She later deleted her channel.
07:28However, in 2025, Cheyenne returned to the platform with a podcast instructing viewers
07:32how to manifest their dreams with her coaching course.
07:35I appreciate you guys.
07:36I'm wishing you an amazing week, and I will see you in the next one.
07:38Bye!
07:39J-Station
07:40In 2020, Jason Effie uploaded a shocking video where he stated that his girlfriend,
07:45Alexia Murano, had passed away in a driving accident.
07:48Last night, we lost Alexia.
07:50However, something was amiss.
07:52As well as people pointing out Effie's acting was weird.
07:56He also plugged his second channel and his merch.
07:58Yikes.
07:59As you guys probably know, we had a channel together called Dream Team.
08:03We just hit 300,000 subscribers.
08:06Effie then released additional videos, including one where he attempted to contact Murano with
08:10a Ouija board.
08:11As suspicion intensified, Effie admitted Murano was alive and the hoax was done to bring in
08:15views.
08:15However, Murano then broke up with him as an arrest warrant for assault against her was issued
08:19for Effie.
08:20The duo briefly got back together before splitting up again.
08:23Alexia was never dead at all.
08:27Yet in 2021, Effie's YouTube channels were terminated for breaching the terms of service.
08:31Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to get notified
08:36about our latest videos.
08:37You have the option to be notified for occasional videos or all of them.
08:41If you're on your phone, make sure you go into your settings and switch on notifications.
08:48Boogie2988.
08:49It's not always the young whippersnappers on YouTube who are being deceptive.
08:52Even the veterans have dabbled.
08:54After releasing content since 2006, Stephen Williams uploaded an emotional video in 2022
08:58where he disclosed he had polycythemia vera, a type of cancer.
09:02Which basically makes your body produce too many red blood cells.
09:07In 2024, while streaming live for the Lol Cow podcast, Destiny accused Williams of lying
09:13about his diagnosis.
09:14You keep saying that your doctor said the word cancer and that we just found out now he didn't
09:20even do that.
09:21During the interaction, Williams admitted that the cancer wasn't confirmed as he was awaiting
09:25additional tests.
09:26As speculation took off, Williams claimed that the doctor told him he had polycythemia vera.
09:30He also apologized for stating he had it publicly before it was confirmed.
09:34As punishment, instead of being fired as a host, Williams seemingly got liar tattooed on
09:39his face during Lol Cow.
09:41People get tattooed on YouTube all the time.
09:44Are there any other times YouTubers lied for views that we missed?
