00:00Hello, I'm Jeremy Vine. Welcome to the most perplexing, puzzle-filled hour on Primetime
00:05Telly. Our celebs are here, our questions are set. It's time for Celebrity Puzzling.
00:10Hello, and as ever, I'm joined by our regular team captains tonight. Let's hope they are
00:30more Captain Cook than Captain Pugwash. First up, she's broadcasting royalty and so good
00:35at math, she literally wrote the textbooks. It is Carol Vorderman. Facing her is one of
00:44this nation's most loved actors, producers and writers. She's the jewel in our crown.
00:48It's Sally Lindsay. Oh, stop it. So, joining our captains are two celebrities who right about now
00:56are wondering what on earth they've signed up for. On Carol's team tonight is a woman who
01:00once joined her on I'm a Celeb to eat camel's nipples. Sounds awful. I hope it didn't give
01:06them the consonant, consonant, vowel, consonant, consonant. It's Scarlet Moffat. And then on
01:12Sally's team, we have a comedian, an actor with a black belt in Taekwondo. Yes, he's a
01:17real triple threat, by which I mean he'll threaten you three times before giving you a roundhouse
01:22kick to the temple. It's Stephen Bailey. Right. So much to get through here. Scarlet, you know
01:30Carol really well. Yeah, Carol has washed my hair. We did a big bush bake-off. The eating
01:36trial, wasn't it? The eating trial. Oh, it was horrible. But you got very friendly in the jungle. Yeah, we did.
01:40Yeah, and it was just, it was honest, I don't know if it was trauma bonding or what, but it was just such a
01:45wonderful experience. Well, that's lovely. You've got a little bit of a bond. As have you two, Stephen and Sally, because Stephen, you've been acting with Sally. I have. Yeah, I've never washed your hair, though. Never wash my hair, which I think is really rude. But Sally's written this character that is so unlike me. He's like sassy and calm and gay. And I found it such a stretch, Jeremy. That's the thing about our friendship. She continues to test me.
02:13Yes. It's in the Madame Blanc mysteries. He plays a character called John Marsden. He's a gangster, isn't he? He's a very camp gangster. He's brilliant in it. And a French character or a British one? He's British. Okay, so you don't have to put it on a French accent. No, I actually do my French in a mank accent. Which is brilliant. Which is perfect. Because Stephen's got his degrees in French, you see, which is why I made him do it. Because he stupidly told me over dinner one night, it went, right, you're in.
02:38OK, so thank you, teams. These four celebs are primed to get puzzling. Let's not disappoint them. Our teams face a random selection of rounds from our deep pool of puzzles, which guarantees no two contests are ever the same.
02:53They'll be trying to score as many points as possible as they try to build up a healthy lead before our final deciding round, which can be a stinker. That's memory bank.
03:01But what is the first puzzle I see emerging over the horizon? It is the incredibly difficult both to play and to say intervention.
03:11Because the Venn in the middle has got two Ns. Have a look at the screen. Scarlett Stephen, big fan of Venn diagrams, Scarlett.
03:18Love that. One of my favourite diagrams, actually.
03:20Yeah, it's a good diagram. Half of them all.
03:22It's up there, yeah.
03:23So have a look here. You just need to give me answers that fit into the overlap.
03:27On the left, you see people on Bank of England banknotes. And on the right, we need playwrights and novelists.
03:35I'll give you an example, just to get you going. William Shakespeare.
03:39Charles Dickens.
03:40Charles Dickens. Let's see if Charles is there. Yes.
03:43Emily Bronte.
03:45I don't think I can take that. I've only got four names here. William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Winston Churchill, Jane Austen.
03:51So this now is to Sally and Stephen. Our first Venn diagram. Let's see. This is countries that have won the Football World Cup and countries that have won Eurovision.
04:02And I'll give you an example. France. So, two more, please.
04:07Is Italy won Eurovision contest?
04:08I'm the worst gay for this, you know. I'm not a Eurovision gay.
04:13OK. I think. It's... Oh, hang on. Spain won the Eurovision contest.
04:20I think it's won the World Cup.
04:21I know it's won the World Cup. You're the Eurovision side, what are you doing?
04:25I'm not the Eurovision side. I'm so bad at football and you're supposed to be Eurovision.
04:30This is so bad.
04:32OK. Spain.
04:33Spain.
04:34Spain, you say?
04:36Well done, Jane.
04:38You may as well say Italy.
04:39Let's have another.
04:39You may as well say Italy.
04:41Germany won the Eurovision contest. Who did they?
04:43They're always rubbish, aren't they?
04:45They're always like Kraftwerk.
04:46Kraftwerk.
04:47Kraftwerk.
04:48Kraftwerk. That's not German. Is that German?
04:49Kraftwerk. We're brilliant.
04:50I think it's going to be somewhere more...
04:52Is Germany won?
04:53Like, this is quite obvious, isn't it, if we say Germany or Italy.
04:56Let's say Italy.
04:57OK.
04:58Let's say Italy.
05:00Yes, well done.
05:02You've got the method here, Carol Scarlet.
05:06Here is your first puzzle.
05:09Here I need reservoir dogs
05:12and balls in snooker.
05:14Oh.
05:15So we're looking for any of the colours of the balls in snooker
05:17that also features in the codename of characters
05:19in Quentin Tarantino's famous film.
05:22I'll give you an example.
05:23Mr. White.
05:25There's got to be a black ball.
05:26There's got to be a black.
05:27There's got to be a black ball.
05:29Yeah.
05:29Yeah?
05:30Yeah.
05:31We're going black, yeah?
05:32Yeah.
05:33Yeah.
05:33So, Mr. Black, let's have a look.
05:37Oh, no.
05:38What?
05:38There's no Mr. Black in Reservoir Dogs.
05:40Sounds like a cool name, doesn't it?
05:41There is on the snooker table, of course.
05:43Have you ever seen it?
05:44No.
05:44I've never seen it.
05:46I've literally never seen the movie.
05:48It's surely dark here.
05:49Yeah, no.
05:50Have another go.
05:50What other colours are there?
05:51OK, so there's green, blue, pink, brown, red, obviously.
05:55And the white.
05:57Should we go red?
05:58Yeah.
05:58We'll go red.
06:00Because we've no idea.
06:01You've got to go red.
06:02Yeah.
06:02Let's see if it's right.
06:04Oh, no.
06:06So, do you guys want to try that?
06:07It's pink.
06:08Mr. Pink is kind of a famous one, yeah.
06:10Steve Buscemi, yeah.
06:12Mr. Blue.
06:13Mr. Blue's there.
06:13Yeah.
06:14I'm thinking Mr. Green.
06:16Mr. Brown, actually.
06:16Mr. Brown.
06:17Yeah.
06:17Yeah.
06:18So, there we go.
06:19Perel and Scarlet misfired.
06:20So, now we're looking for, bring it on, BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award winners
06:26and Formula One drivers.
06:27Oh, my goodness.
06:28Oh, this is hilarious.
06:30I'll give you an example of a Formula One driver who's won BBC Sports Personality of the
06:35Year, and it's Jackie Stewart.
06:38Wasn't there one that went out with a Kardashian?
06:41I'm not even joking.
06:43There was one.
06:43This is disastrous for me.
06:45No.
06:46There was one that went out with a pussycat doll.
06:48There was one that went out with Nicole Scherzinger.
06:49Hey, don't move.
06:50Um, I can't remember the name.
06:53Sterling Moss.
06:55Let's see.
06:56Sterling Moss.
06:58Oh, yes.
06:59Well, he did actually win Sports Personality of 1961.
07:02Wow.
07:03I knew that.
07:04Well done.
07:04You've chosen a long ago time there.
07:07We need to remember this man's name immediately.
07:09Sterling...
07:09Okay, give me another.
07:10Oh, hang on.
07:11Oh, hang on.
07:12Yes.
07:13I know you mean.
07:14The very handsome.
07:15Yes.
07:16Um...
07:17Oh, of course.
07:18Yes.
07:19What's his name?
07:20Lewis Hamilton.
07:21Lewis Hamilton.
07:22Lewis Hamilton.
07:23Yes.
07:24That was so annoying me.
07:25That was correct.
07:26I think they did date, didn't they?
07:27Yes.
07:28Yes.
07:29That's your little gay brain came up.
07:30Well done.
07:31Well done.
07:32Well done.
07:33Can you do any others here, Carol Scarlett?
07:34Uh, well, I was thinking of Nigel Mansell.
07:35Yes.
07:36He would have taken him for sure.
07:37Yeah.
07:38Damon Hill.
07:39Oh, I love Damon Hill.
07:40John Surtees.
07:41My sister was in love with Damon Hill.
07:42Well, they're all very dashing, aren't they?
07:43Yeah.
07:44Yes.
07:45Okay.
07:46Carol Scarlett.
07:47Next up.
07:48Let's see.
07:49We need US states.
07:50Yeah.
07:51Which are also places named for kings or queens.
08:04An example would be, let's say, Georgia.
08:06Because that was named after King George.
08:09Mississippi.
08:10Carolina.
08:11Carolina.
08:12After...
08:13I don't know.
08:14So, North Carolina.
08:16Let's see.
08:17North Carolina.
08:18Is it there?
08:19Yes, it is.
08:20Strangely, it was named after Charles I of England.
08:23Ah.
08:24So, Charles gives us Caroline.
08:25Yes, because Carol is the female virgin.
08:26That's it.
08:27That's it.
08:28That's it.
08:29This is not easy, though, Jeremy.
08:30This is really hard.
08:31Really obscure.
08:32Right.
08:33Okay.
08:34So, let's carry on, then.
08:35So, we've got...
08:36So, is Virginia one, then?
08:37Who would that be after?
08:38Yeah, like, Virgin.
08:39The Virgin Queen.
08:40The Virgin Queen.
08:41You want to go Virginia?
08:42Yeah.
08:43Virginia.
08:44Yes.
08:45You're bang on.
08:46You're bang on.
08:47It's named after Elizabeth I.
08:48And it's funny.
08:49When you say it's not easy, actually, you could really have gone.
08:51If you've gone South Carolina, as well as North Carolina, you would have had to accept it.
08:54Yeah, but I thought you'd have gone, no, Carol, we can't allow you.
08:55No, no, no.
08:56Louisiana is named after Louis the 14th.
08:57So, we've got Virginia one, then.
08:58Who would that be after?
08:59Virgin.
09:00The Virgin Queen.
09:01The Virgin Queen.
09:02The Virgin Queen.
09:03You want to go Virginia?
09:04Yeah.
09:05Virginia.
09:06Yeah.
09:07So, Louisiana is named after Louis the 14th of France.
09:09You could have just done Louisiana.
09:10Right.
09:11Yeah, of course.
09:12Maryland.
09:13Oh, we've said that.
09:14Yeah.
09:15Yes.
09:16So, there's a few there.
09:17But you did it.
09:18You did it.
09:19We got two.
09:20You got there, yeah.
09:21So, Sally and Stephen, on your third puzzle, I'm not going to give you an example answer,
09:24okay?
09:25There's three points on offer if you can give me three correct answers.
09:28I know you're enjoying this.
09:29Any day of the week that features in the title of a UK top ten hit single.
09:35I don't like Mondays.
09:36I don't like Mondays.
09:37I don't like Mondays.
09:38Yes.
09:39Well done.
09:40Saturday Night Fever.
09:41Red-tailed Rats.
09:42Saturday Night Fever.
09:43The answer I'm taking is Night Fever, which is the single and therefore it doesn't count.
09:52It doesn't count.
09:53It doesn't say Saturday.
09:54Come on, give us a third suggestion.
09:55Saturday Night.
09:56Saturday Night.
09:57Saturday Night.
09:58Saturday Night.
09:59What's that song?
10:00I just remember doing it, kids things, and the dance was like...
10:03It was very good.
10:04Saturday Night.
10:05Wigfield.
10:06Wigfield.
10:07That was the one.
10:08It's literally...
10:09It's funny.
10:10Do you want a few examples here?
10:14Well, Sunday Girl Blondie.
10:15Sunday Girl, yeah.
10:16Friday I'm in Love by the Cure.
10:18Yes.
10:19Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting Elton John.
10:21But listen, you've done well there.
10:22Yeah.
10:23You've got two out of three.
10:24Well done.
10:25Three points on offer for your one.
10:26Here it comes.
10:27So what we need is I'm a Celebrity contestants and EastEnders actors.
10:32This is so Stephen.
10:34I'd watch I'm a Celeb religiously.
10:37Yeah, you do.
10:38With those two devils.
10:39Larry Lamb.
10:40Who was on ours.
10:41Who was on ours.
10:42He was on ours.
10:43Was he in EastEnders?
10:44Yeah.
10:45We've got Larry Lamb.
10:46Larry Lamb.
10:48Yes.
10:49Great job, Charlotte.
10:50And then Charlie Brooks.
10:52I think she's Brooks.
10:54Yeah, I think she might be.
10:55Yeah.
10:56Yeah.
10:57Charlie Brooks.
10:58Yay.
10:59So, wonderful, wonderful Joe Swash.
11:03Was he in EastEnders?
11:04Sure Swash.
11:05Yes, Swashie was in there.
11:06Was he?
11:07Mm-hmm.
11:08Joe Swash.
11:09Virtually every celebrity.
11:10Yes.
11:11You're so good.
11:12Yay.
11:13So.
11:14Alright, great puzzling.
11:15How do you get on at home?
11:16Absolutely.
11:17Are you staking your claim to puzzling fame?
11:18At the end of the first round, let's look at the scores.
11:20So, we have Carol and Scarlett playing really well.
11:23Five.
11:24Stephen and Sally.
11:25Oh, ahead of them.
11:26Six.
11:27Oh, okay.
11:28It's going well.
11:29Okay, let me show you what is next.
11:30It is word blocks.
11:31I'm going to show you how this works.
11:32You will see a word block with just four of the letters filled in.
11:36Oh, I've got it.
11:37You also have a number of letter tiles to choose from.
11:38You need to pick four letters to spell out four words.
11:39Two horizontally, two vertically, just like a crossword.
11:40There we go.
11:41Look.
11:42So, you've got ape, ash, hog, egg.
11:43The first word block is worth three points.
11:44As ever, you're against the clock.
11:45Carol, Scarlett, you're up.
11:47I'm on.
11:48I'm on.

12:32I think that's it.
12:33Let's see your next word block.
12:34This will be a tiny bit harder, because we're giving you more letters to choose from, so there
12:36are more red herrings.
12:37And this is worth four points.
12:38Reveal the puzzle.
12:39Ooh.
12:40Oh, what do you think there?
12:41Let's go.

13:06Did it drive you mad, Scarlett, slightly?
13:07Good at it, though.
13:08You're very good at it.
13:09You see it quickly.
13:10He is good.
13:11OK, let's see your next word block.
13:13This is the hardest one yet.
13:14Just three letter words on each side.
13:16But even more spare letters to choose from.
13:18And it's worth a massive five points.

14:01So, T-E.
14:02Is this wretched o down the bottom, isn't it?
14:04Er.

14:06Yeah.
14:07And what goes in there?
14:08Org.

14:14I know, but you went...
14:15Please.
14:16You didn't hit the button fast.
14:17I'm so sorry.
14:18Well, you're the boss.
14:19I am.
14:20I am the boss.
14:21I know, I know.
14:22But you're right.
14:23So, how did you get on with that round?
14:24Did you manage to beat Holmes and Watson over here?
14:26Well done, Carol.
14:27Well done, Scarlett.
14:28Your trip to the letterbox has scored you seven points.
14:30So, Sally and Stephen will get their chance with some bonus points at the left.
14:33But before we jump head first into that, it is time to dip our toe into the pool of Adland.
14:39Yep.
14:40Time for a quick break.
14:41We'll be back with more powerful puzzling after this.
14:44See you in a few minutes.
14:46Have a go at this Path Words puzzle.
14:51Swap the letters in just one column to reveal the answers.
14:54Choose wisely.
14:55Did you swap the correct letters and solve this Path Words puzzle?
15:10If you did, well done.
15:12Welcome back to Celebrity Puzzling.
15:13I'm still Jeremy Vine.
15:14Sally and Stephen, you've seen how it works.

16:27Goo.
16:28Goo.
16:29Let's see your next word block.
16:30It's the hardest yet.
16:31Still just three letter words on each side.
16:33But even more spare letters to choose from.
16:36Red Herring Grand Central.
16:38Five points if you get it.
16:39Let's go.
16:40Okay.
16:41So that's orb isn't it?
16:42Orb.

16:54Tab.
16:55Um.
16:56No that can't be that.
16:57Well you could have Matt.
16:58Matt.
16:59So what's this then?
17:00Oh god.
17:01Tab.
17:02Tab.
17:03Tab.
17:04It's not a word.
17:05Tab.
17:06Tab.
17:07Tab.
17:08Tab.
17:09Tab.
17:10Tab.
17:11We did tab.
17:12We weren't happy with it.
17:13The clock is ticking on us.
17:14Met.
17:15Met.
17:16Met.
17:17Is that a word?
17:18Well done.
17:19Go go go.
17:20That's when you lose all confidence.
17:21You say.
17:22Is.
17:23Is.
17:24Is.
17:25Met a word.
17:26Yes.
17:27Met.
17:28I met him.
17:29Tab is a word.
17:30Orb is a word.
17:31Moo is a word.
17:32Well done.
17:33The speed of Sally on the table.
17:35Alright.
17:36Please head back to your seats.
17:41How many points did you rank up at home?
17:43Let's have a look at the scores.
17:44Let's see.
17:45Carol and Scarlett.
17:4612.
17:47That's not bad.
17:48Steven and Sally.
17:49Oh.
17:50Wow.
17:55This is it.
17:56Sally in the lead.
17:58So.
17:59Carol and Scarlett got to catch up in our next round which is shape shifters.
18:02Let's see how it works.
18:06In this game.
18:07It's hip to be square.
18:08Because you will see a grid of answers.
18:10A question.
18:11And a geometric shape.
18:12Simply give me the correct answers.
18:14That fit exactly inside the shape.
18:16And remember you can't.
18:18You can't.
18:19Rotate.
18:20The shape.
18:21Yeah.
18:22Well done.
18:23That's really catching on.
18:25There we go.
18:26Now the shapes are the key thing.
18:27So it's two next to each other.
18:29Members of the pussycat dolls.
18:31Yeah.
18:32I know Ashley Roberts has one.
18:34And Kimberly's one.
18:35They're that top row.
18:36The top row.
18:37You go for those two.
18:38Yeah.
18:39Let's see.
18:40Oh yeah.
18:41You're right.
18:42Nice.
18:43Jessica's one.
18:44Melody's one.
18:45I don't know.
18:46And the others are from other bands like the Saturdays and of course Emma the Spice Girls.
18:50That's how you play it.
18:51Do we get the points?
18:52No.
18:53That was an example.
18:54Right.
18:55It's worth asking Scarlett.
18:56So.
18:57Let's go for Carol and Scarlett first then.
18:59And this is your first puzzle for two points.
19:02Yes.
19:03So.
19:04We're on Greek islands.
19:05Nice.
19:06Kos is isn't it?
19:07Crete is.
19:08Yeah.
19:09And Kos is.
19:10Yeah.
19:11Oh I think I went to Crete as a kid.
19:13It was amazing.
19:14Was it nice?
19:15Yeah it was really nice.
19:16Was it?
19:17Did you have moussaka?
19:18Oh no.
19:19I was about to seven.
19:20Is there a laugh?
19:21Oh am I?
19:22What is it like?
19:23Is it like hummus?
19:24Or is it a drink?
19:25Yeah.
19:26It's like.
19:27Is it a drink?
19:28You can drink the Saka.
19:30Oh you can.
19:31It's a bit untidy.
19:32So.
19:33Yeah.
19:34Here we are.
19:35Just remember the shape is one on top of the other please.
19:37Yeah.
19:38Crete and Kos.
19:39Crete and Kos.
19:40Crete and Kos you say.
19:41Let's see.
19:42Well done.
19:43And I'll show you the other Greek islands.
19:46Ithaca and Michalos.
19:48Elba Italian.
19:49Sicily Italian.
19:50Ibiza Spanish.
19:51Minorca Spanish.
19:52And Mauritius.
19:53Long way away.
19:54Charlie and Stephen.
19:56Here we go with yours.
19:57Your first shape shifters.
19:59Oh no please help please.
20:00Oh let's see how we do.
20:01Characters in The Three Musketeers.
20:03And here you can see the shape.
20:05One next to the other.
20:06You can't rotate it.
20:07Have you got it?
20:08Yeah.
20:09Have you got it already?
20:10Yeah.
20:11That's so good.
20:12Because I wanted the Pussycat Dolls question back.
20:14So.
20:15Athos and D'Artagnan.
20:17Athos and D'Artagnan.
20:19Sally says.
20:20Let's see if it's right.
20:21Very good.
20:23Because of course there were only three and Aramis is the third.
20:27Aramis is the third.
20:28Poirot was not in The Three Musketeers.
20:30Zidane.
20:31Pompadour.
20:32That's brilliant.
20:33Zidane was a footballer.
20:34Clouseau.
20:35I would have liked to see that.
20:37Okay.
20:38Karen Scarlop.
20:39Your second puzzle.
20:40The shape has increased.
20:41So now you need to find three answers.
20:43Have a look at the shape as well.
20:45So.
20:46Rodents.
20:47Oh.
20:48And it's look it's a weird kind of corner shape there.
20:50Oh.
20:51Rodents.
20:52And it's how they're defined isn't it?
20:54Chinchilla.
20:55Yeah.
20:56They look like little rats don't they?
20:58Yeah they do yeah.
20:59Condor's a bird.
21:01Dingo.
21:02Porcupine obviously is a spiky porcupine.
21:05I wouldn't say that's a rodent.
21:07Do you think it's capybara, chinchilla and dormouse?
21:10That's what I'm thinking.
21:12Because a dingo is a dog.
21:15Yeah.
21:16Salamander's like a lizard-y thing isn't it?
21:19Yeah.
21:20I'd go with that.
21:21Yeah should we do it?
21:22Yeah go on.
21:23You read it out.
21:24Dormouse, capybara, chinchilla.
21:27Okay.
21:28I like the way you're playing here.
21:30Let's see if that's right.
21:32Yeah well done.
21:35So capybara is the largest rodent.
21:38A porcupine does count actually.
21:40That is interesting.
21:42Yep.
21:43A beaver is a rodent.
21:44A beaver is a rodent.
21:45Obviously not in the right formation for the game.
21:47Yeah yeah.
21:48Woodchuck is as well.
21:49Oh wow.
21:50Dingo's more like a kind of foxy wolfy thing isn't it I think.
21:53You did well there.
21:54Yeah.
21:55Good.
21:56If I may praise scholar.
21:57He was just like David Asenborough.
21:58Dingo's like a foxy.
21:59Yeah.
22:00I could hear it.
22:01Yeah.
22:02Moves around at speed.
22:03There we are.
22:04Rodents well done.
22:05You scored well.
22:06Sally and Stephen here you are with your next shapeshifters.
22:09Three points at stake.
22:10Let's see the category.
22:11Things Rick Ashley is never going to do.
22:14Oh we like this.
22:15This is yours isn't it Stephen I think.
22:18And look at the shape there.
22:19You can't rotate it.
22:20Isn't it.
22:21Tell a lie.
22:22Let you down.
22:23Make you cry.
22:24Tell a lie.
22:25Let you down.
22:26Make you cry.
22:27Never gonna make you cry.
22:28And then it's.
22:29Never gonna kill you.
22:30Never gonna let you down.
22:31I think I'm lying.
22:32What are you saying?
22:33Tell a lie.
22:34Let you down.
22:35Make you cry.
22:36I feel positive energy.
22:37Feel your leg.
22:38I actually at first thought run around, feel your leg, let you down.
22:43And I thought.
22:44Feel your leg.
22:45That's not Rick Ashley.
22:46That's me.
22:47Okay.
22:48Tell a lie.
22:49Let you down.
22:50Make you cry.
22:51Let's see if it's right.
22:52Oh no.
22:53Yeah.
22:54Can we have more of them?
22:57More pussycat dolls.
22:59Rick Ashley.
23:00Yeah he did.
23:01Dessert you and say goodbye.
23:02We're in there.
23:03Hurt you.
23:04You're all playing really well actually.
23:06Three points at stake here.
23:08So now we have this one.
23:10Celebrities who've released fragrances.
23:11Oh this is interesting.
23:12And again look at the weird pattern of the shapes.
23:15It's next to each other and a diagonal.
23:17I don't know what Ross Kemp's fragrant would smell like.
23:21I wouldn't like to think.
23:23Oh not Donald Trump surely to goodness me.
23:27Knowing what that surname means in English.
23:30You don't want a fragrance like that.
23:31You don't want a Trumpy smell do ya?
23:33Yeah.
23:34Well I know.
23:35Really?
23:36Well Britney Spears definitely has.
23:38Yeah.
23:39J-Lo has.
23:40Paris Hilton has.
23:41Yeah.
23:42But Nikki.
23:43Maybe.
23:44Do you know what.
23:45I think it could be.
23:46Nikki Minaj.
23:47Paris Hilton.
23:48And Danny Dyer.
23:49Is that Danny Dyer?
23:50Yeah.
23:51Oh no.
23:52Oh no.
23:53Why do I think Miss Piggy is one?
23:54I think I know this.
23:55Go on you tell me.
23:56I think it's J-Lo.
23:57Miss Piggy and Donald Trump.
23:58I think it might be as well.
23:59I think it might be as well.
24:00Donald Trump.
24:01Yes.
24:02You know he'll sell anything.
24:03Donald Trump's scent is called fight fight fight.
24:04There's a shot.
24:05Seriously.
24:06And there's one called success.
24:07I think he hasn't quite worked out the scent thing really.
24:12Kermit the frog had one called amphibia and Miss Piggy had one called moi.
24:13And then Lady Gaga and Britney Spears do that.
24:14A lot of them have done.
24:15You're playing really well by the way.
24:16I think it's J-Lo.
24:17I think I know this.
24:18I think I know this.
24:19Go on you tell me.
24:20I think it's J-Lo.
24:21I think it might be as well.
24:22J-Lo.
24:23I think it might be as well.
24:24Donald Trump.
24:25Yes.
24:26You know he'll sell anything.
24:27Donald Trump's scent is called fight fight fight.
24:28There's a shot.
24:29Seriously.
24:30And there's one called success.
24:31I think he hasn't quite worked out the scent thing really.
24:32Kermit the frog had one called amphibia and Miss Piggy had one called moi.
24:37And then Lady Gaga and Britney Spears do that.
24:40A lot of them have done.
24:41You're playing really well both of you.
24:42OK.
24:43So here we go.
24:44Next one.
24:45Sally and Stephen.
24:46Items in Mary Poppins magic bag.
24:48OK.
24:49Again look at the shape.
24:50You can't rotate the shape.
24:51What's a kosh?
24:52Kosh is a food.
24:55So it goes on top of the food.
24:57Anything that she pulls out of her magic bag in the film Mary Poppins.
25:01There's definitely a lamp.
25:02There's definitely a lamp.
25:03Oh hang on.
25:04Let me get the shape of it.
25:05There's definitely a lamp.
25:06The shoes.
25:07But you have to tape measure.
25:08Because then she does that thing where it's like practically perfect in every way.
25:09She does.
25:10She does.
25:11I can't remember about the shoes.
25:12I cannot.
25:13Is it a lamp or a hat stand?
25:15Is it a hat stand?
25:16We're starting with one of those two aren't we?
25:18So it's either a lamp plant and a kosh.
25:20But if you say tape measure.
25:21There is definitely a tape measure.
25:22Why are you whispering?
25:23If you say tape measure.
25:24I don't know what a kosh is.
25:25I can't get.
25:26Kosh is like it.
25:27You know like a.
25:28Like a glass lid that you lift.
25:29Yeah like a steel lid like that.
25:30I can't see.
25:31I can't remember that.
25:32I don't remember bringing a kosh out.
25:33I don't.
25:36Oh god.
25:37Or a rabbit.
25:38Could you imagine?
25:39I have a hat.
25:41Sorry.
25:42I think hat stand shoes.
25:44I'm going to go with you darling.
25:46Because this is.
25:47If it's wrong though.
25:48Well I'll never speak to you again.
25:49It's all right.
25:50I'm about to get killed off in my dorm room.
25:52Go on.
25:53Should we go for it?
25:56Oh go on.
25:57Yes.
25:58Only because I don't know what a kosh is.
25:59I can't get my head round it.
26:00Hat stand shoes and a tape measure.
26:02Yeah.
26:03All right let's see if.
26:04Is that right?
26:05Oh.
26:06OK.
26:07Congratulations.
26:08Well done.
26:09Thank goodness.
26:10Anything else.
26:11She also had a mirror lamp plant.
26:13So is there a.
26:14Were you thinking of kloche when you.
26:15Yes I know what you.
26:16Kloche.
26:17Oh kloche.
26:18Sorry it's not a kosh.
26:19Yeah.
26:20Kosh is a.
26:21Isn't it sorry.
26:22Kloche appeared famously in Fawlty Towns where he wants to see.
26:23Yes.
26:24This food.
26:25It's supposed to be duck and it ends up as.
26:26That's it.
26:27Sorry.
26:28That's a kosh.
26:29A kosh is like a truncheon.
26:30Truncheon.
26:31Yeah.
26:32So did you playing at home manage to solve the shapeshifters.
26:35They were good today weren't they.
26:36Hope you did so without rotating the shapes.
26:38At the end of that round let's look at the scores.
26:40Here we go.
26:41Here we go.
26:42Here we go.
26:43Carol and Scarlet's.
26:44Sixteen.
26:45Stephen and Sally.
26:46Patrick.
26:4725.
26:48You are storming it.
26:50Watch.
26:51Carol has got a competitive head on her.
26:54So you watch.
26:55Yeah.
26:56Yeah.
26:57Yeah.
26:58The fight back starts here.
26:59So we've reached the end of part two.
27:01It really has flown by hasn't it.
27:02No.
27:03Okay.
27:04Join us after the break for even more celebrity puzzling.
27:06If you want to keep puzzling see if you can complete the vertical word to solve this thirdle.
27:15Best of luck.
27:16Puzzlers, did you manage to complete the thirdle?
27:31If you solved it, well done.
27:36Welcome back to Celebrity Puzzling.
27:38There's still plenty of puzzling to come which means there's also still plenty of time for everyone to fall out really badly.
27:43Maybe we should just get on with the show.
27:45Our next round is called Heat Map.
27:48Here's how it works.
27:51Look at the screen.
27:52For each puzzle in this round the contestants are shown an image of a QWERTY keyboard.
27:56Above the keyboard is a category, says country.
27:59The letters in the answer are highlighted on the keyboard.
28:02What's more, the letters are colour coded.
28:05So if the letter features in the answer just once, it's yellow.
28:08Twice, it's orange.
28:10Three times or more, red.
28:12Yeah.
28:13Go on, anyone?
28:14Morocco.
28:15Morocco.
28:16Let's have a look.
28:17Yes, we're right.
28:18Well done.
28:19That's how you play it.
28:20Happy with that, Scarlett?
28:21Yes, happy.
28:22Good.
28:23Stephen.
28:24Am I happy?
28:25In life.
28:26Are you in life generally a sore loser?
28:29I'm a really bad loser.
28:30Are you?
28:31I lose all the time at these sort of things.
28:34Yeah.
28:35So Carol and Scarlett go first here and this is your first Heat Map.
28:38Okay.
28:39TV show.
28:40TV show.
28:41Show you the letters here.
28:42There they are.
28:43So yellow once, orange twice, G three times or more.
28:47Yeah, yeah, yeah.
28:48I feel like that's a bit cheating, isn't it, having this one?
28:50I take it.
28:51Is it?
28:52Gogglebox.
28:53Yeah, the X is helpful, isn't it?
28:55Let's see.
28:56Gogglebox.
28:57Oh, Scarlett.
28:58Right.
28:59You don't mind that.
29:00The next one better be Madame Blanc.
29:03Yeah, yeah, exactly.
29:04Countdown.
29:05Countdown.
29:06Does that give you a good feeling when you see the word Gogglebox?
29:08Yeah, it does, you know.
29:09Yeah, because it was such a fun thing to do.
29:11Like, I just got to sit and watch telly with my mum and dad.
29:14If you're all watching this show, what would they say?
29:17I feel like there would be arguments in a good way.
29:20Good.
29:21Because we're quite competitive with each other.
29:23Oh, brilliant.
29:24Yeah.
29:25So they'd be trying to solve it at home, would they?
29:26Yeah, definitely.
29:27That's all we need.
29:28Okay.
29:29Sally and Stephen, here's your first heat map.
29:30Oh, gosh.
29:31Chinese animal.
29:34There we are.
29:36Yellow ones.
29:37Chinese animal.
29:38So what could it be?
29:39Red three times or more.
29:40Oh, is it...
29:41Oh, I don't know how you say it.
29:43It's a pan...
29:44Oh.
29:45It's the spiky one, isn't it?
29:47And I don't know what it is.
29:48I can't say...
29:49I want to say pan...
29:54It's...
29:55I can't remember the word, but I know what it is.
29:57Can it be more than one word?
29:59Oh, can it?
30:00It could be three words.
30:01Four words.
30:02I don't know.
30:03And is it?
30:04No, I'm not saying that.
30:06It's not a panda, is it?
30:08Because...
30:09There's too many words.
30:11There's too many A's.
30:12Orange twice.
30:13Red three or more.
30:14Yellow once.
30:15Oh.
30:16Chinese animal.
30:17Probably need an answer.
30:18Yeah, I can't...
30:19I don't know.
30:20Do we get a point for goggle box?
30:22No.
30:23So you were kind of fishing around with a...
30:25What was it?
30:26You had a word.
30:27It's a long word.
30:28A long word.
30:29Okay, yeah.
30:30Maybe pangolin, is it?
30:31Yeah.
30:32It's not that, though.
30:33It's not.
30:34Have a look.
30:35You're going to kick yourself here.
30:36Giant panda.
30:37Oh, my goodness.
30:38Oh, no.
30:39The long word that starts pan was, in fact, panda.
30:42Okay.
30:43Carol and Scarlett, here's your next one.
30:45Vegetable.
30:46I'm good on vegetables.
30:47I'm good on vegetables.
30:48Excellent.
30:49There it is.
30:50Asparagus.
30:51The A three times or more.
30:52Yeah.
30:53We've got this.
30:54I like them quite grilled, with a little bit of mayonnaise.
30:57Go on.
30:58Yeah.
30:59Give us an answer.
31:00Asparagus.
31:01Asparagus.
31:02Asparagus.
31:03Is it asparagus?
31:04You've got that so quickly.
31:06All right, Sally and Stephen, here's your next one.
31:10Here is the QWERTY keyboard.
31:11It's an artist.
31:13Leonardo...
31:14Is it...
31:15Leonardo da Vinci?
31:16Is it...
31:17Leonardo da Vinci?
31:18Is it...
31:19Leonardo da Vinci?
31:20Hold on.
31:21No, there's no N.
31:22No, there's no N.
31:23No, there's no N.
31:24Oh, I'm sorry.
31:25And no E.
31:26No E.
31:27Er...
31:28There's a lot of A's.
31:29A's.
31:30Er...
31:31Hmm.
31:32Tricky.
31:36Might have to bring you to a conclusion, here.
31:39Er...
31:41Okay.
31:42I thought I could see a David in there, but that doesn't help, does it?
31:46Salvador Dali.
31:47Oh, Carol, Carol, Carol.
31:50Well done, you.
31:52Salvador Dali.
31:53I would never have got that.
31:54I should have got that.
31:55Okay.
31:56So, next one for Carol and Scarlett.
31:59You're playing well, you might be catching up.
32:01U.S. Landmark.
32:03Er...
32:05Yellows once, oranges twice, reds three or more.
32:10Oh, for goodness.
32:11Oh, for goodness.
32:12They know it.
32:13They do.
32:14I think they do know it.
32:15Well, obviously, Statue of Liberty, it is not.
32:17Yeah.
32:18Er...
32:19The Capitol, the White House.
32:21You were going east to west, are you?
32:23Because that might be a while.
32:24Yeah, I'm working my way around.
32:25Yeah, I could be here a while.
32:27Yeah, you are.
32:28In California, you've got...
32:29It's like Lake Tahoe, the Rockies is there.
32:32There's no there there.
32:34Er...
32:35U.S. Landmark.
32:36Mount Helena.
32:37Anything for me?
32:40Oh, no.
32:41Oh, time is up.
32:42You know it.
32:43Grand Canyon.
32:44Grand Canyon.
32:45Oh, you did see!
32:46Oh, you did see!
32:47It's awesome!
32:48OK.
32:49Well done.
32:50So, I think one more for Sally and Stephen.
32:52Let's see this.
32:53Oh, no.
32:54Please.
32:55Fashion designer.
32:56You're going to get this.
32:57I can tell.
32:58Come on, let's think.
32:59Just go through the designers.
33:00Yves and Laurent.
33:01Well, there's no...
33:02It's not Gautier.
33:03It's not Chanel.
33:04It's not...
33:05Er...
33:06Vivienne Westwood, is it?
33:07No, there's...
33:08Er...
33:09It's not Vivienne Westwood, is it?
33:11No, there's...
33:12Er...
33:13Oh, is it?
33:14No.
33:15Vivienne...
33:16Oh, it is!
33:17Is it?
33:18Yeah.
33:19I don't know.
33:20Have we got other letters?
33:21V-I-V-I-E-N-N-E...
33:23Vivienne...
33:24W-E-S-T...
33:26W...
33:27Oh, there's...
33:28Is it Vivienne Westwood?
33:29Vivienne Westwood.
33:30Vivienne Westwood is your answer.
33:31Is it right?
33:32Please say it.
33:33Yes!
33:34Well done!
33:35So...
33:36Two Vs, I guess, is...
33:40That's quite unusual to have two Vs in an answer.
33:43Yeah.
33:44At the end of that round, let's take a look at the scores.
33:46So, Carol and Scarlett on 20.
33:49Steven and Sally...
33:51Still ahead, 27.
33:56In this next round, both teams will tackle the letterbox.
33:59Individually, though, not at the same time.
34:00We're not crazy.
34:01The aim this time is for one team to solve their anagrams
34:04in the quickest possible time and for the other team to either beat that time or fail miserably.
34:09Whichever makes the best tally.
34:10The team that posts the quickest time at unscrambling their words then earns a bonus two points,
34:16which could be crucial in this contest.
34:18If everyone is ready, to some degree or other, let's play Fernandrum.
34:25So let's see how this works.
34:26You will see three anagrams, each a letter longer than the one before.
34:29You must rearrange the tiles to solve the five-letter anagram and then you move on to the six-letter anagram and so on.
34:35So you go down the board.
34:36You will be, as I said, against the clock.
34:38Have a look here.
34:39What can we see?
34:40First one.
34:41Brink.
34:42Brink, yeah.
34:43Anything, Scarlett, on this one?
34:44Invite.
34:45Invite.
34:46Oh, my God.
34:47Cheryl.
34:48Ocrathy.
34:49Maybe haircut.
34:50Aww.
34:51So two points per solved word.
34:55As I mentioned, if you do all three anagrams faster than your opponents, two bonus points.
35:00Sally and Stephen, you're leading.
35:02Let's head over to the letterbox so you can face your fate and your Fernandrum.
35:09Remember, as soon as you solve the third anagram, hit the button to stop the clock.
35:12Your time starts now.
35:13Okay.
35:14Oh, God.
35:15Um.
35:16Poker.
35:17Poker.
35:18Poker.
35:19Yep.
35:20Poker, brilliant.
35:21That's the next.
35:22We've got green on that.
35:23Well done.
35:24Okay.
35:25Stir.
35:26Stir.
35:27Can we pull them out?
35:28Yeah.
35:29Do it.
35:30Um.
35:31So let's.
35:32S-T-R.
35:33No, that's not going to be a word, is it?
35:38S-T.
35:39Stir it.
35:40Stir it.
35:41Stir it.
35:42Yeah.
35:43No.
35:44Um.
35:45Yeah?
35:46No, it's not.
35:47Stir it, isn't it?
35:48Stir up in it, I think.
35:49The U.
35:50It's not turned green.
35:51Yeah.
35:52That's probably a good clue.
35:53That's a clue.
35:54It's not green.
35:55Something with S at the end.
35:56Trips.
35:57Two eyes.
35:58No.
35:59It's half the old six letters.
36:00Um.
36:01Can I think?
36:02Eyes must be in the middle somewhere.
36:04What's that there?
36:05What's that there?
36:06An S.
36:07No.
36:08Uh.

36:30Quick, quick, quick.
36:31Hit it.
36:32Well done.
36:33Well done, Sally and Stephen.
36:34You've scored six points.
36:35We'll see if you win two bonus points after your brilliant opponents are played.
36:39But before Carol and Scarlett face their fenundrum, we'll take a short break.
36:43So, we'll see you on the other side for more high-profile people puzzling.
36:51Why don't you try unscrambling the middle three letters to solve this fenundrum?
36:57Get puzzling.
37:02Have you figured out this fenundrum?
37:14Well done if you got it right.
37:19Welcome back.
37:20Before the break, puzzles were solved and points were scored and the seeds of lifelong friendships
37:24were sown.
37:25Moving on, it's now Carol and Scarlett's turn to try to beat Sally and Stephen's really
37:29rapid time in the penultimate round fenundrum.
37:33So, let's get right back into it.
37:34You've got three new anagrams coming your way.
37:37You must solve them in order.
37:39You need to beat the time set by Sally and Stephen in order to earn the crucial bonus points.
37:44Let's get over to the letterbox.
37:49Remember, as soon as you've solved the third anagram, hit the button to stop the clock.
37:52Your time starts now.
37:54Ooh, what's that one?
37:55Flaks.
