01:06The painting I've chosen for this project is titled Portrait of God.
01:11While most viewers see nothing, some insist they see a person in the darkness.
01:16One that they can describe and draw out with consistent details.
01:21It's a man, or close to a man.
01:24Wrinkled. Skinny.
01:25He's really skinny.
01:26He looks skinny.
01:27He's smiling.
01:28He's grinning.
01:29He smiles down at us.
01:30Almost looks like the corners of his mouth got smudged.
01:33Oh, he's wearing a mask.
01:35It's too wide.
01:37But his eyes...
01:39He's looking down with...
01:40Wow.
01:41His eyes are big.
01:42They're big.
01:43They've got this glint in them.
01:45This speckle of light to them.
01:46Honestly, it's unsettling.
01:48Of course it's frightening.
01:49That kind of power should be.
01:51I don't like looking at it.

01:55It's beautiful.
02:01Maybe it's just a trick of the light.
02:03Maybe they're seeing something they want to see.
02:06But how are their descriptions so consistent?
02:09Maybe they really are having a religious experience.
