Farmer decapitated in parang attack in Jerlun

A 45-year-old farmer was killed in a machete attack by his brother-in-law in Kampung Pida 3, Jerlun, Kedah on Friday (Oct 31) evening.   Kubang Pasu District Police Chief Superintendant Mohammad Radzi Abdul Rahim said police received a report about a fight between two men at 7:05 pm.   The victim's body was found lying in a nearby padi field with his head severed and multiple slash marks on his body. 00:35Before his arrest, the suspect attempted to attack officers with the weapon but surrendered

00:40after 15 minutes of persuasion.

00:43Police said neither party had prior criminal records and the motive remains under investigation.

00:49The victim's body has been sent to Sultana Bahia Hospital for post-mortem.

00:54The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for Murder.
