00:00They intentionally disconnected my sister's call button.
00:03They have mistreated her, neglected her.
00:05I have filed numerous complaints.
00:07I don't care how annoying my sister is.
00:09She doesn't deserve to be mistreated just because she's a little difficult.
00:12I've been here for two hours.
00:15She had a bowel movement, so she needs to be cleaned up.
00:17So I was pressing the button and I'm like, why is it not working?
00:19I pressed the actual call button because we needed to call them to help me clean her up.
00:24But what she heard when they arrived shocked her to her core.
00:27There was somebody at her front door and they're like, I don't know how she called.
00:31We disconnected it.
00:32So they intentionally disconnected it.
00:34That's unacceptable for her safety.
00:36I guess she might be annoying because she might press it a million times because it's literally a soft button.
00:41They have different expectations for her and me because she's special needs.
00:44All I want for my sister is the best care.
00:48The quality care, the standard care actually that everybody else in this hospital gets.
00:53This was only the beginning of the issues with her sister's care.
00:55I did make that complaint to patient services yesterday.
00:59I am calling the board to report that because I do think that's unacceptable.
01:03I don't care what anybody else says.
01:05What if she had an allergic reaction to a medication?
01:08What if she was falling out of the bed?
01:12I don't care how annoying my sister is or how many times she calls you or if you don't like her.
01:19Why would you get into nursing if you're not going to care for all people?
01:23She doesn't deserve to be mistreated just because she's a little difficult.
01:26Not even that difficult because every time I'm there she's sleeping 90% of the time unless she's in pain, unless she pooped on herself, or unless she needs something.
01:36And half the time when I'm there I'm the one that cleans her up, not them.
01:39Yesterday when they finally came in they're like, oh, her sister already has her cleaned up mostly so I'll help her.
01:45You don't have to help.
01:46Yeah, because I'm not going to wait three hours for my sister to lay in her feces.
01:49People online questioned her over this, saying the button being pressed too often wastes carers' time.
01:55They have multiple people who answer the call light buttons.
01:59It's not like the nurse is running in there every time she presses the button.
02:02Nobody's running into her room when she presses it.
02:04She clicks the call light.
02:06They go, your light's on, do you need something?
02:09And if she doesn't respond, they hang up on her and turn the light off.
02:11So it's not like it's stopping them from going and helping somebody else.
02:16She feels as though she's managing her sister's care more than the staff.
02:19I don't even know what to do anymore.
02:22I asked them not to give her this one payment they were giving her because although it is like one of the lowest forms of opioids, she has a hard time digesting those types of meds.
02:33And sometimes she does stop talking, so I asked them to stop giving it to her so we could see if that was the reason or if it's the infection.
02:40And it's really hard to navigate this situation while working full-time and trying to take care of my parents also.
02:49I go back to work on Monday and I'm already stressed about what's happening then.
02:54I can't even stay focused on what's happening now because I'm starting work on Monday after being off for a month.
03:00So yeah, I just, I don't even know.
