00:01Hello, how are you today? Good. So I see today that we're going to be doing your
00:08preliminary skin assessment. So what I need for that is just a little bit of
00:14information about your skin so that I can get a better idea of a treatment
00:21plan that would be best suited for you. So the first thing I want to ask you is what
00:32type of skin do you consider yourself to have? Do you have dry skin, combination,
00:38oily? Okay, okay. So we're going to go ahead and say it's a little bit of combo
00:49skin. Okay, and then since it's combination skin, what areas of your face do you
00:59typically find oil? Okay, so T-zone. T-zone a little bit on the forehead. Okay, yeah
01:16that's pretty typical. It's okay, it's not the end of the world. It's pretty easily
01:22treatable. But do you have acne prone skin? Do you break out often? Okay, sure.
01:34And where on your face do you typically break out the most? A little bit here? Along the
01:48jaw? Okay. Along the jawline. Okay, good. And what are your primary concerns? What are you
02:00hoping to address today or get out of this skin assessment? Okay. Okay. So we're gonna say fine
02:17lines and wrinkles, which by the way you don't really have. Fine lines and wrinkles. We're gonna say a little bit of
02:30dry skin. Hydration issues. Hydration. Okay. Hydration issues. And we're gonna try to address those occasional
02:44breakouts as well. Breakouts. Okay. Alright, so I think that is all the information I need from you right now.
02:57So the next thing I want to do is I just want to get a closer look at your skin. Get a better look at what's going
03:04on a little bit closer. And then after that I will let you know what I think will be the best
03:11sort of skincare routine, any topical treatments we can get for you, okay? Okay. Alright, great. So it's gonna be a quick process. It's gonna be painless, I promise.
03:23So I'm just going to sanitize my hands a little bit. Okay. So I'm just gonna have you look forward for me and I'm just going to get a better look at what we are working with here. Okay.
03:51Okay. Okay, good. Your skin is really not bad. All of the problems that you spoke about are not atypical at all.
04:04Okay. And as we age, our skin is prone to changes as well. So when you're young, you might find that you have very hydrated skin, if not oily. And as you get older, you might have a little bit more dryness than you thought. And... Okay. I'm gonna have you turn your face to the side for me, please.
04:29Okay. Okay, good. Just a little bit on the jawline. Not bad. Very, very treatable. And the other side. Okay, good. Good. So you said your T-zone gets a little bit oily as well. Okay. Okay.
04:57Okay. Well, it looks fine to me. It doesn't look like you have any glaring issues that can't be addressed with topical ointments or any other serums or something like that. So let me go in the back and I will bring you out what I think will be best tailored for your skin. Okay?
05:22Okay, good. Okay, so to address the first issue with the breakouts, what I'm going to recommend is that you use a facial cleanser that has some percentage of salicylic acid in it.
05:41And what that's gonna do is it's gonna prevent the overproduction of sebum on your skin. And throughout the day, you'll find that you do not get as oily. And it just sort of keeps your skin in check if you run on the oilier side.
05:53If you want, you can apply it only to the areas you find are exceptionally oily. But overall, salicylic acid is pretty mild. It's not going to dry your skin out that much. And I think it's gonna be the best option for you in terms of keeping those breakouts at pay and preventing the production of excess sebum.
06:18So the next thing you want to address is hydration. And the trouble with combination skin is you want to treat the areas that are dry, but you also don't want to make your skin oily.
06:33So what I would recommend is using a hyaluronic acid. And what this is, is it is a molecule that is a humectant, which means it draws water or moisture to wherever it is.
06:53So if you put this on your face, it's going to naturally help you retain that moisture in your skin. And I think that's going to help a lot with those drier areas.
07:03In combination with that, I would recommend using a gel-based moisturizer because I don't want to overwhelm your skin with anything like a heavy cream or something of that nature.
07:19I think that the gel is going to be the best option for you. I think that the gel is going to be the best option for you. It's not heavy. It won't clog your pores.
07:28This one is by Clinique. And this is a very light gel moisturizer.
07:39And you can use this in the AM and the PM. And it's just good for that surface level hydration that you need.
07:52And it's just going to prevent any more breakouts or, you know, blackheads, anything like that.
08:00Okay, so my last recommendation is for the fine lines and wrinkles that you think you have.
08:10I personally don't think you have them, but I can't blame you for wanting to act in a preventative way.
08:18It's never too early to start preventative skincare techniques.
08:24And that way, you don't have to worry about it in the future.
08:28So what I'm going to say is I would recommend that you use a retinol.
08:35And a retinol is a great thing to use.
08:39If you're using it for the first time, I would use it every other day
08:43because it takes a little bit of time for your skin to adjust to the changes.
08:49Your skin can be a little bit sensitive to it at first,
08:52but over time, you'll be able to use it every night.
08:58So the reason why I like retinol is because it increases the cell turnover rate.
09:06So it will essentially work to help slough off dead skin cells.
09:13It will help your skin cells reproduce more quickly.
09:18And over time, it has been shown to prevent fine lines and wrinkles with continued use.
09:25So I'm going to send you home with that today as well.
09:30And I think that is about it.
09:33That's all I have for you.
09:34So you honestly don't have a lot of skin issues.
09:39These are all easily addressable with the products today.
09:44Do you have any more questions for me?
09:50Okay, so that's it?
09:52Okay.
09:53Alright, so I'm going to send you home with these today.
09:57And I would like for you to come back again so I can see how you're doing in about three to four weeks.
10:05We can do another skin assessment and see how everything is working.
10:10So until then, I will see you and I will write you a reminder for our next appointment.
10:26So I hope you had a nice time.
10:44Um, I hope you feel that this was a productive meeting.
10:49I look forward to seeing how your skin changes with this new regimen.
10:52I'm feeling pretty optimistic about it.
10:55I think that these are, um, things that are definitely going to improve your skin care and the, um, overall appearance of your skin.
11:04But if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to call me, okay?
11:10Okay.
11:11Alright, I will see you next time and thank you so much.
11:17Bye.
