00:00Welcome to the video from the CarMagazine Tuning Blog about the Stockmann Rover 2,
00:10the ultimate mobile accommodation for adventurers.
00:16Australian manufacturer Stockmann has further developed its successful Rover model and is
00:20launching an improved version with the Rover 2, which offers more space, more comfort and
00:25more options for mobile travel. The original Rover was designed as the ultimate escape capsule,
00:32combining compactness with off-road capability. Stockmann has now revised the concept and adapted
00:39it to current requirements. The Rover 2 remains true to its all-terrain approach and is available
00:45in two versions, all-terrain and superlight. Both versions rely on a frame developed and built in
00:53Australia as well as a chassis with independent coil spring suspension and dual shock absorbers.
00:59The main difference is the weight. The superlight version is lighter.
01:04The dimensions of the new model are 5.4 meters in length, 2.2 meters in width and 2.20 meters in height.
01:13Despite its compact design, the interior now offers even more storage space and legroom,
01:18so that it can also be used as a lounge area.
01:22The rear houses a fully equipped kitchen with a 130L bouchement refrigerator,
01:27including a freezer compartment, a swiveling sink and a swiveling grill with cooking area.
01:33A real highlight, as many comparable teardrop trailers only offer rudimentary solutions here.
01:40For the self-powered energy supply, 100W solar panels are installed on the roof,
01:45supplemented by a further 200W in portable form.
01:50A 2000W inverter, a battery and the radar management system ensure a reliable power supply.
01:58A 150L fresh water tank and optional extras such as a Webastro air conditioning system,
02:04a diesel water heater or additional tents make the Rover 2 a real mini apartment for on the road.
02:09The chassis has been slightly revised, but retains the tried and tested hot-dip galvanized steel frame
02:17and the electric drum brakes on 17-inch alloy wheels.
02:22The interior features full insulation and carpeting with numerous storage compartments
02:27and an additional 140L storage space, which is dust-proof and accessible from the outside.
02:35The standard swing doors remain unchanged,
02:37as do the large windows that provide plenty of daylight and ventilation.
02:42A ceiling fan is fitted as standard, should you decide not to go with air conditioning.
02:47The promise of instant setup without much effort makes the Rover 2 an uncomplicated solution
02:54for spontaneous or extended trips.
02:58Even the awnings and tent options can be set up quickly.
03:02A few pegs are usually enough to ensure stability, even in strong winds.
03:07The permissible total weight of the Rover 2 is 100kg,
03:11which should be taken into account when choosing additional options.
03:14The price starts at around $15,000 AUD, which equates to around €34,000.
03:24The Rover 2 is currently only available in Australia.
03:29However, a US patent for the design suggests that Stockman may be planning to expand.
03:36As always, you can find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
