00:00The power is unrelenting and almost indescribable.
00:11Hi, I'm Bradfr from Chevrolet Marking and today I'm here with Josh Holder on the introduction of the all-new Corvette ZR1.
00:18Josh, we understand the teams have been super excited about this, but before we dive into ZR1,
00:24can we just talk a little bit about the journey that we've been on and what Corvette has meant over the last couple years
00:29leading up to this point, we plan the ZR1 from the beginning.
00:32So, with the Stingray, followed by the track ready Z06, followed by the all-weather capability of the Airray,
00:39the hardware that goes into each of those cars, uh, was planned from the beginning,
00:44which is why the LT7 evolved from the LT6.
00:48Still got that flat plan crank high, ring magic, uh,
00:52but this time the equipped turbochargers really bring the power to these unbelievable levels.
00:57And you know, when you sit and you look at the car, it just looks fast, right?
01:01Like every Corvette.
01:02How important is it to maintain the design that has made this generation of Corvettes so special?
01:08Well, keeping the foundation lets us maintain the fantastic mid-engine proportions.
01:13These on the ZR1 expand upon its performance.
01:16So, everything you see on the outside of the ZR1 has some functional purpose and many of them have more than one functional purpose.
01:24The intercooler heat exchanger in the hood, not only does it cool to charge air, but it also helps create front down force.
01:31Let's talk about the numbers.
01:32Can you give us a rough idea of what the ZR1 brings to the table here?
01:35The numbers are incredible.
01:36164, more than 800s of torque from 3000 RPM to 6500 RPM, more than 1000 of downforce at top speed and a quarter mile time well under 10 seconds.
01:51It's going to be the fastest Corvette that we've ever done.
01:57Okay, alright, well, that's an important one here.
02:00Let's just take a step back.
02:01Fastest Corvette ever.
02:03Are you confirming 212 plus today?
02:05Significantly faster than 212 mil.
02:07It's absolutely incredible.
02:10And when you start to think about the acceleration, how does that feel?
02:15It's it's really mind-blowing.
02:17The first time you get in the car, you get this experience like, oh my god, what did I just feel?
02:25But it doesn't go away.
02:27Never disappoints.
02:29You never get used to this kind of power.
02:31It's always special.
02:32It's always enjoyable.
02:35So the ZR1 represents the first ever factory turbocharged Corvette.
02:39When you think about turbochargers, some might say, hey, there's going to be some lag.
02:43You know, takes a little bit of time to spool up.
02:45Quote.
02:45What are some of the things that you all did as a team to mitigate that?
02:48That's a great question.
02:49Bridge.
02:50And these turbochargers are massive.
02:52A 76 millimeters compressors.
02:54So in the design of the turbocharger, we phase the exhaust cams in the engine to keep turbo speed as high as possible.
03:02We change emission timing, throttle position, and we have a special waste gate that's electronically controlled.
03:09So we can use those features to keep turbo speeds as high as possible.
03:13So when you're exercising the ZR1 on the twisty roads, your favorite place to drive or even on the track, that massive power and torque is always it's incredible.
03:23Yeah, well, Josh, thanks so much for the time today.
03:27Really appreciate it.
03:28I think everyone's going to be extremely excited about what the 2025 Corvette 01 has to offer.
03:33You guys really rocked it.
03:34Thanks for giving us a vehicle like this.
03:36Thank you.
03:36We can't wait to share it with the world.
03:38Oh.
04:04Oh.
04:04Oh.
04:04Oh.
04:04Oh.
04:04Oh.
04:07Oh.
04:08Oh.
04:08Ja.
