00:15Today, I'm going to talk about the Fitcam Dashcam again.
00:22Um, I've already installed it in three G30 vehicles, in an M55 sedan from 2017,
00:28then in the Alpina B5, uh, 2019, which was also a V facelift,
00:33and now it's being installed in the G31 LCI.
00:39It's a model year, oh my god, I think 21 or so.
00:45Um, and because there were a few questions about whether it also fits the LCI models,
00:49and yes, I'll show you in the video whether it fits or not.
00:52But I highly doubt that it will fit, because the interior mirror doesn't look any different,
01:00nor does the trim.
01:04So I'll try it out and yes, then you'll know if you drive the LCI and want to get the camera or not.
01:12By the way, I can say from my experience that I've actually had it for two years now.
01:16This is what it looks like inside. There's actually nothing inside. Pretty empty.
01:22The hole here is covered with a black cover plate. I think I put it on the wrong way around at some
01:28point. I'll correct that now. There's another Y connector here. That's all it's really about,
01:35right? The vehicle's plug goes in here, then the vehicle's power supply goes in,
01:39and the camera starts working. An SD card goes in here at the bottom. Here's the camera,
01:46and here's the photo button and the on, off button, and the rest is done via Wi-Fi.
01:52Yes, my experience is that after two years, the camera has worked really well.
01:57It does exactly what it's supposed to do, primarily by looking inconsistent.
02:02The most important thing to me is that you can't see the camera, or at least not at first glance,
02:07like all the other dash cams that are hanging in the windshield or on the dashboard.
02:13I find it annoying that you see cables and, how should I put it,
02:16technical components that just don't fit into the vehicle visually.
02:22I don't like cell phone mounts, and I don't like dash cams that are attached with suction cups.
02:28This one works really, really well. You can find them on various websites online.

02:43So, now let's get out into the car and I'll show you. This is what the original looks like.
02:50I don't know if you can see it from the inside, but basically it doesn't change, right?
02:54Here are these three parts again. By the way, you start by removing this one.
03:04These are these little brackets that you pull aside here.
03:09Pull them to the left and to the right on the other side.
03:13Then just go slowly, I'd say. I've been warming up the interior for a while now.
03:17It's winter right now, so the plastic doesn't freeze through completely and break too quickly.

03:28So, the connections definitely fit, and yes, I'm pretty sure the rest of it up here too,

03:51You can push it in here up here as far as you can, the cables, so that they disappear a bit.
03:58But it's actually not that easy to put everything back together,
04:00and it's not really easy to remove these parts either.
04:04So, you can take a look at what it looks like.
04:07Here, for example, it looks like I've bent it quite a bit.
04:11Uh, I think it'll hold together like this, but of course it's not ideal.
04:16Um, just go very, very slowly when removing it.
04:20Here, too, this is what the second part looks like.
04:22These are the tabs for it.
04:24Um, they survived.
04:26Here on the large part.
04:28The tabs also survived.
04:32However, I've already bent it quite a bit on this one,
04:35because you simply can't see when you remove the paneling.
04:39Um, yes, so now you've seen the parts.
04:42You can see the tabs.
04:43Maybe you can imagine it, right?
04:45That's how it is.
04:46No, um, that's how it's installed.
04:48Maybe you can also imagine how the tabs are positioned,
04:51i.e. how you have to pull them so that they don't break off.
04:55So here it's best to pull them to the side and yes, here it's the same, right?
04:58So you can see what's attached how and where, but unfortunately you'll have to try the rest yourself.
05:08So, now the fun part, putting it together.
05:12So, it also fits perfectly on the LCI, right?
05:15That's what it looks like and yes, for me it's still the ultimate solution,
05:22because it's simply perfectly integrated into the vehicle design and really eye-catching.
