00:00We received another package about a year after we received the Lanmodo Fast.
00:12The manufacturer sent us a new model.
00:16It's now called the Lanmodo Fast Pro.
00:21It's basically the successor and it addresses all the criticisms that were raised last year.
00:29That means important functions, such as, after the release, we received a lot of inquiries
00:36about whether it was possible to install a camera, a rear-view camera.
00:42We had to say no because it simply wasn't possible.
00:46We were also asked a lot whether there was an integrated memory card, how to read it,
00:50and so on and so forth.
00:52None of that was available, but now it is available with the Pro.
00:56It comes with a camera.
00:59It's a rear-view camera.
01:01I'm not entirely sure about the availability of that yet.
01:05It's not universal.
01:08It does have a special connection, so it fits the device specifically.
01:14And from what I can tell, it's not necessarily available in large quantities at the moment.
01:21It's not included in the scope of delivery, at least not in our package.
01:28But we did get it and of course we want to try it out.
01:34It might be a bit, how should I say, plug-and-play, because I'm going to try it out on our VBFON.
01:42There aren't many options for installing something like that at the rear, so I still have to think
01:46about where exactly I'm going to install it.
01:51But I think it'll be used in the area of the license plate lights and I'll definitely do it as a fixed installation.
02:01That means the system should stay in place for now, so I'll also route the cables through the interior as invisibly as possible.
02:11But I won't go into any further detail about how I'm going to carry out the conversion, because that always depends on the vehicle anyway.
02:17That's quite obvious.
02:20I'll show you how I did it, where I laid it, but I won't go through every single step, because it's actually quite easy to understand, right?
02:29Let's say you have two connection options here.
02:33The device can get powered directly via the OBD port, and then we have a conventional cigarette lighter socket.
02:41I'll probably use that in the car and pack it as invisibly as possible.
02:48I have a way to connect the device while driving with gloves, and then I'll lay the cable as invisibly as possible,
02:54and then I'll most likely use this stand, which is attached with a screw.
03:02Alternatively, there's a typical mount for the windshield.
03:08Like any navigation device, it's basically nothing special with a suction cup, with a large one, and yes, we probably won't use that or I won't use that.
03:20Included in the delivery is a 128GB memory card and a USB stick, where the memory card fits in the back, except that you can read it and download the corresponding recordings.
03:32Yeah, what else is there to say?
03:34Well, the camera, um, the system is now equipped with a parking mode.
03:39Um, we'll try that out, of course.
03:42Um, then there's a gesture sensor, we'll try that out too.
03:47Um, the so-called angle of view has, I think, increased from 36 degrees to 45 degrees.
03:57The rear view camera has a resolution of 1080p and the front camera is unchanged as far as I know and should still have the 1080p resolution.
04:07That was a very good resolution in the previous model.
04:10I'll fade that in for you now.
04:13This is the contribution to the article from a year ago.
04:19And yes, that's all about the device and now I'll show you how I installed the whole thing.
04:25So, as announced, I've now installed it.
04:29Here's the good part.
04:31Yes, I decided to go with the stand after all, it works better.
04:36Even the cable was relatively easy to root, it's relatively inconspicuous.
04:41Well, not the device itself, but the cable is relatively inconspicuous.
04:50It always depends a bit on the car, right?
04:57Yeah, so that's what it looks like inside.
05:04And now I'll turn on the ignition.
05:11Exactly, then the device starts.
05:13That takes a few seconds.
05:15Um, that would be a small point of criticism.
05:19To be honest, it takes a little too long for the device to really become active.
05:26Because normally you get in, uh, put it in reverse gear, drive off and especially for the reversing
05:31camera, it sometimes takes a little too long, but yeah, it's not a big deal.
05:37This is the image for the shape.
05:41Then you can now switch to the image from behind.
05:43This is the camera from behind.
05:45Um, I'll show you how I installed it in the back.
05:48Otherwise, yes, the cable, as I said, always depends on the car.
05:51You can't generalize at all, but in this car it's actually possible without any problems.
05:55Everything is laid out invisibly.
05:57The cable for the reversing camera runs along the top here.
06:01It was quite difficult with the car, because it doesn't have a foldable rear view camera.
06:05Everything is fixed.
06:06Um, you first had to find a passage for the cable, but I eventually found it after searching
06:10for ages.
06:13And yes, then the whole thing looks like this.
06:18Here is the reversing camera.
06:19I think it's a bit big.
06:21Um, yes, it's not completely inconspicuous, but okay.
06:27Okay, you have to live with it.
06:30Um, it also depends on the car.
06:32If the license plate recess is a bit deeper on another car, then the camera probably disappears
06:37much further.
06:38Unfortunately, that's not the case here.
06:40This is what it looks like from behind.
06:42Yes, it's not the end of the world, but of course it's not completely invisible either.
06:47Okay.
06:48So, as I said, the system is now directly linked to the vehicle's PDC.
07:03Um, I had to connect it to the tail light.
07:11It didn't work with the identification bus.
07:14It gave an error message, so I first had to find the right pin on the steering wheel.
07:20It was relatively easy.
07:21I got some help from a big forum and they told me where to connect it.
07:25Um, yeah, the camera has an extra cable, right?
07:29So the one cable that goes to the front.
07:32Then there's a small power cable that has to be connected to positive.
07:35And that's the red cable.
07:37I then attached it directly to the control unit.
07:41And it only gets power when you put the car in reverse.
07:47And when I put it in reverse, it goes really fast.
07:51The image quality is really good.
07:53I even think the one from the rear view camera is somehow better than the one from the front.
07:59They both have 1080p.
08:01However, you have to keep in mind that the front camera has to shine out onto the windshield.
08:05There are always a few reflections.
08:08And of course that's not the case with the rear camera, right?
08:12It has a clear view.
08:14Exactly.
08:15Now put it in reverse again.
08:16So, that goes really fast.
08:18That's also a really great angle.
08:19I think, if you look like this now.
08:22Let me try that.
08:23Exactly.
08:24We have a pretty bad driveway.
08:30And because of the angle, it actually allows me to see all the way out into the street.
08:35So, I can now look down, which I can't do from inside the car, right?
08:42You can't see the street.
08:44So, I have to drive the car back at least another meter.
08:46Of course, it's already completely on the street there and that's not the case here at
08:50all.
08:51That's really good.
08:53And it's no problem to the side.
08:55I can look up myself.
08:56But here I can really, because of the large angle and the position of the camera, I can
09:00really look down and yes, I can drive out now.
09:04But I won't do that.
09:05I'll drive forward again first.
09:07So, those are, let's say, the functions for the day.
09:15As far as I can tell, the camera, including the reversing camera, has the same function,
09:20the night vision function.
09:21Well, I tested it yesterday.
09:23It's really bright.
09:25Um, I'll show you what it looks like now.
09:29Um, yeah, I didn't expect it to be that good.
09:32I thought this night vision function was only available at the front, but it's also available
09:35at the back.
09:36That's quite an improvement.
09:38So, I think I'll leave the thing installed for quite a while and not remove it again
09:41straight away.
09:42Um, I really like it with the stand too.
09:45It fits quite nicely into the cockpit, right?
09:47I mean, you can see it's an accessory, but it's not really annoying that there are 1000
09:52cables in the way or whatever.
09:54Um, so yeah, I think it's really cool and I'll show you the whole thing at night.
09:59Okay, but before I do that, I'll of course quickly show you the menu.
10:03Um, you can find it here.
10:05It says that when you go into the menu, the automatic recording is stopped, right?
10:09There's a built-in dashcam in there.
10:11Um, here you can set the upper point.
10:13Um, here you can set whether it should film or not.
10:16At the lower point, you can set whether, um, oh, now it's going away again.
10:21Okay, let's do the whole thing again at the lower point.
10:24Um, whether sound should be recorded.
10:28Then you have this recording time here, which is basically the loop function, which is also
10:32relatively important by law, let's say that the thing doesn't record continuously, but
10:36after three or five minutes, depending on how you set it, it films sequences and then,
10:41if there are no special events, records them over again.
10:45Then you can also set the screen brightness here.
10:47Personally, I find it almost a bit too bright, even in the darkest mode.
10:51I'll show you that at night when it's dark.
10:54Yeah, good.
10:55Okay.
10:56That's just how it is.
10:57So, what else do we have?
10:59Then we can also set the sensor, the sensitivity.
11:02Yeah, let's leave that as it is for now.
11:05I won't change that.
11:06Um, here is the setting for the second windshield mount.
11:12Then the image is mirrored, because the device is logically mounted upside down.
11:16Here you can also adjust the volume.
11:19Here you can watch the videos that have already been recorded, which is pretty cool.
11:25You can watch them live, so to speak.
11:27Um, yeah, that's actually not a bad idea.
11:31And otherwise you can also download the videos.
11:34You can delete them here, right?
11:37That works.
11:38So now I have to see how I can get out again.
11:41Ah yes, okay, menu and okay, then there are the languages.
11:46Um, it's not available in German right now, but the menu is pretty clear.
11:51So you can also get an English one.
11:53And as a last point, you can format the SD card and that's basically it in terms of functions.
11:58You don't need anything else.
12:00Um, the camera is in here, the SD card is in here.
12:05It's a bit inconvenient if you want to take them out every time.
12:08Yeah, it's not that easy, I'd say.
12:12I would have liked to have had a WLAN module here, so that you could have an app with which
12:16you could access the device and simply download the videos.
12:19Unfortunately, that doesn't work too bad.
12:23Otherwise, yes, the most important thing is the night vision function and the built-in
12:27dashcam.
12:29Of course, both in one, the dashcam function is fully available at night, and that's really
12:34good.
12:36I'll show you that now.
12:38I hope my great holder for the phone works.
12:42I've now decided to install the other holder instead of the stand.
12:48That's why the image is mirrored.
12:56The reason for this is that the stand vibrated so much, at least here in the vehicle, that
13:00the image from the DCHAM was simply relatively shaky.
13:06Uh, it was okay, I would say, when the road was halfway okay.
13:10But as soon as there were bumps, it was really quite shaky and, uh, yeah, you can just avoid
13:14them with this.
13:16Uh, nothing wobbles now, nothing vibrates and yeah, I found it better, it was also quick
13:22to convert.
13:24The vehicle always comes a little closer, whatever.
13:27You can try it out for yourself, but yeah, I find it better here and nothing wobbles anymore.
13:34So everything is good, I'm now reversing out of the same exit again.
13:40Like I did this afternoon, when it was bright.
13:42Uh, you can see that now.
13:44So, the camera has the same night vision function and that's really cool for the back.
13:49So, forward gear.
13:55Now it's switched and yeah, exactly.
14:01I don't know, you can also see the vehicle lights halfway, I think, as I can see on my
14:05phone right now.
14:07Um, yeah, I can't really say much about it, except that it's at least as good as the previous
14:12model, which didn't have those many features.
14:16Um, as far as I know, it hasn't been significantly improved or improved at all in terms of the
14:21night vision function.
14:24So, um, the new model has the additional functions that I already mentioned.
14:30But, um, the camera features, um, the front camera, um, as far as I know, have remained
14:37the same.
14:38Yes, so the effect is the same as with the old model.
14:43Really good visibility.
14:45There's a mountain up ahead.
14:47Let's see if we can see a bit more when it goes a bit straight.
14:50Um, yeah, exactly.
14:53So, with the car lights on, I can now always see about three of these posts at a distance
14:57of about 150 meters.
15:00And, um, with the night vision device, it's about five, I'd say.
15:06So that's almost twice the range that you can see.
15:10The oncoming vehicles, yes, have their lights on.
15:13Therefore, the screen is relatively bright.
15:16That's another point that bothers me a little.
15:18So, this is already the darkest mode that's set here, but it's really bright.
15:22So it's bright as day in the vehicle.
15:25I don't know if that's distracting or not.
15:28At the moment, the focus is of course on the test here.
15:32I have to try it out when it's installed every day and I also drive for a few hours
15:35at night on the highway or whatever, to see if it doesn't lead to me saying, okay, it's
15:40too bright for me, it's annoying, turn it off.
15:43But yeah, let's see, let's see.
15:47Another really cool thing is that you can switch to the rear camera.
15:51It looks a bit like a science fiction film.
15:54The only thing missing from behind is Knight Rider or whoever.
15:58Um, but here too, well, it's already pretty bright, I'd say.
16:03So it has the same function from the back.
16:06Um, yes, a car is coming towards me now.
16:08We'll see it from behind in a moment.
16:09That looks really cool.
16:11So, if someone is tailgating behind you on the highway or whatever, then you can be
16:16sure that you'll definitely capture this nasty guy with his license plate and everything,
16:20right?
16:22So the image from behind.
16:25And now let's switch back to the front.
16:27Otherwise, it works via reverse gear.
16:31I've connected it accordingly.
16:33Put it in reverse and it shifts.
16:35It works really quickly.
16:37I'm really pleasantly surprised, I'll stop it again briefly.
16:41Now put it in reverse.
16:43The image is there immediately and it's actually even faster if you put it in forward gear again.
16:47So it shifts really quickly.
16:49Um, I've tested it a few times today.
16:52Um, you can also drive completely in reverse with the camera, without relying on the mirrors.
16:58Of course not to within 10 centimeters.
17:01Exactly, but you can still stay in a lane or you can also park in a parking space in the
17:06corresponding lane.
17:08So, it works really well.
17:11Yes, that's basically it for now.
17:15That was the night drive again.
17:18As I said, it really does what it says on the tin.
17:23It doesn't wobble anymore.
17:25It's really securely attached to the windshield.
17:28In an emergency, it can be quickly removed and stowed in the glove compartment.
17:32For example, if you don't want it to be visible to everyone.
17:37Yes, otherwise, the thing that just occurred to me is that the thing also has a kind of
17:41pork sensor.
17:42Which, if I understand correctly, is like many dash cams, which simply detects vibrations
17:47and then starts filming in front of and behind the vehicle.
17:54But this is only possible if you connect it via the supplied OBD cable.
17:59It works.
18:00However, it has the disadvantage that the thing is always on.
18:04I don't know if that's the case with every car.
18:07In the case of the car, the OBD box always has power.
18:10Even when the car is locked and the alarm system is activated or whatever.
18:15I tried that and the screen is always on.
18:17So on the one hand, it's not good for the vehicle battery.
18:19And on the other hand, the car is brightly lit inside during the day.
18:22So that's unfortunately pretty stupid.
18:24Um, yeah, I don't know if there's any other way to regulate that, or if I missed something
18:29in the operating instructions, but I don't really think so.
18:33I think the idea is to only have this parking sensor when there's a constant power supply.
18:38Um, yeah, in my opinion, you could have solved that with a simple battery.
18:46It doesn't have to last 72 hours if there's a battery in there that lasts, I don't know,
18:5112 hours.
18:53The camera is only active, really active, when it really detects vibrations.
18:58Otherwise, it's basically in standby mode.
19:01Um, that could have been solved with a battery that simply recharges while driving, right?
19:08And when you're driving and you park it, the device accesses the battery and would use
19:12it to film.
19:13Unfortunately, it doesn't.
19:15Hopefully it will come.
19:16That would probably be an idea for the next model.
19:19Yeah, otherwise, I can see at least 350 or 400 meters, that's not bad.
19:27Cool thing.
19:28A prime example would of course be a deer or wild boar, but I don't think we'll have that
19:32much luck.
19:35Okay, now let's try the whole thing again with the reversing camera.
19:41I have to park the car in front of the garage anyway, and exactly.
19:45So that's real, because the car simply doesn't have it.
19:49Many cars these days have a reversing camera.
19:52Okay, then we probably don't need it.
19:55My car didn't have it, but it does now.
19:57I think it's really cool.
19:58I have to say, I like it.
20:02For me, it's actually the most important function of all the improvements.
20:06Um, yeah, otherwise I have the built-in one now, there's a card included.
20:11I think it has 128 gigabytes, if I'm not mistaken.
20:16It's installed now.
20:18It just records a few times according to the typical dashcam regulations.
20:22I already mentioned that earlier.
20:24Yeah, otherwise there's nothing more to say about it.
20:27I like it quite a bit.
20:29The review part is really good.
20:32The built-in battery, which I think is missing, um, it's a bit unfortunate that when you put
20:36the windshield mount on, the company name is upside down and the start screen is also
20:40wrong.
20:41Yeah, there are worse things, but these are such small details that I think could be fixed
20:48with relatively little effort.
20:50Um, yeah, let's see.
20:52Maybe it will be implemented at some point at her site.
20:55Okay, until the next review.
20:57Um, please give us a like.
21:00Um, the video is definitely active on Facebook again, and on YouTube anyway.
21:05And yeah, until next time, bye, take care.
21:11Hey, hey, hey, hey.
21:23I'm ready.
21:33Bye-bye.
21:34Bye-bye.
21:38Bye-bye.
