00:00I can't even count how many seven-figure mares we've sold at the night of the stars and it's a
00:18destination for the world market to come knowing that they're gonna get the cream of the crop and
00:23to be able to be represented by grade one winning fillies like Candid and Velocity and also a grade
00:31one placed filly grade stakes winner and Vixen on the night of the stars is just a huge honor for us
00:38it's really great to have another opportunity to sell a pair of grade one winners for Eclipse
00:43starbreds this year and I'd also be remiss in saying that you know it'll be a fun weekend with
00:49the Breeders' Cup watching an Eclipse Colt run this year that was a purchase at Saratoga you know
00:55journalism's had a remarkable campaign this year and we'll have a huge rooted interest in seeing
01:01journalism run great in the Breeders' Cup Classic Velocity is a filly that came into Michael
01:07McCarthy's program and showed quite a significant amount of ability right from the start came on to
01:13the turf and got the job done in March of her three-year-old season we ran her an allowance
01:17race at Del Mar to start the meet of her three-year-old season and she was really dynamic in
01:25that victory which gave us the impetus to go ahead and be ambitious and running her in the grade one
01:31Del Mar Oaks she was a long shot that day but internally our camp had quiet confidence in Velocity
01:37that she was certainly gonna outrun her odds and she did that and then some exhibiting just tremendous
01:42brilliance to capture the grade one Del Mar Oaks Velocity going for the upset lush lips thought
01:49process Velocity won it one of the things that is really intriguing about Velocity is she's another
01:55top runner that's been produced from Peter Blum's readings Mr. Blum has been one of the top breeders
02:00and in America for probably 50 years we thought she was a grade one physical when we bought her with a
02:07grade one pedigree and for her to evolve into a grade one winner is really gratifying all credit
02:14goes honestly to our VP of bloodstock at Eclipse third-bed partner Shawn Tugel for bird dogging
02:19candied in the July sale of her yearling season she was a filly that stood out in the July sale for us
02:26being a daughter of candy ride who's a proven blue chip sire she broke her maiden first time out as a
02:32two-year-old sprinting at Saratoga everybody knows what a talent that requires to do that and to go
02:39from a sprint at Saratoga on debut and winning going two turns in a grade one against grade one
02:45competition at Keeneland second time out just sort of proved right there and then that she was one of
02:50the best of her generation she had a lot of trouble in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Phillies she was just a
02:57jumper to away from being Eclipse award champion in her own right at two came back at three had an
03:02incredible campaign beat older Phillies at Monmouth Park and the Lady's Secret early in her three-year-old
03:08season which you don't see a lot of Phillies doing that and then obviously her campaign at Saratoga and
03:14the coaching club American Oaks in the Alabama and then of course being twice Breeders Cup placed was
03:21just unbelievable you just don't see a lot of Phillies do that came back at the age of four multiple graded
03:31stakes place and of course capping off her season with a win in the Allaire DuPont a historic race at Pimlico
03:37on Preakness weekend showcasing her ability so she was just such an honest but upper tier Philly for our
03:45stable to see the durability and the consistency of that performance is a really unusual trait just a really
03:51absolute stone cold runner stone cold dryer really kind of a throwback type of Philly I think she's got all the
03:58ingredients that any top reader wants to see pedigree looks constitution and upper level success on the
04:06racetrack hard to find
