00:00The moment our reviewer finished The Outer Worlds 2, he immediately wanted to start it
00:03up again to see an alternate outcome.
00:05In this review done quick, here are some of the reasons why IGN gave it an 8.
00:09It's great.
00:10Like Fallout New Vegas, the story is structured in a way that forces you to choose a faction
00:13to side with, and there aren't any truly right answers.
00:17Flaws add a ton of replayability.
00:19These are modifiers that the game offers you if it catches you doing certain actions.
00:22Skipping a lot of conversations?
00:23You can get an XP boost in exchange for a limited amount of time to choose your dialogue
00:27options.
00:28Stealing a lot?
00:29They must sell those goods for more, but might automatically steal from other characters
00:32at random.
00:33Discovering even more flaws in replays will be a real treat.
00:37Although the first act can be a bit sluggish and forgettable, that story eventually builds
00:41to become more grounded and interesting than its predecessors.
00:44Combat is also more fun this time, featuring some unexpected weapons like a silent shotgun
00:48that instantly melts its target so bodies can't be found.
00:51However, enemy variety is a bit lacking, and when you clear out an area of enemies, they
00:54never come back, making revisiting those areas feel quite empty.
00:58Luckily, there's a generous fast travel system that keeps you from needing to backtrack
01:01through empty space too much.
