00:00When we said we are artists from Korea, they didn't ask us about our music.
00:22They asked are you from North Korea or South Korea?
00:28Where on earth is Korea?
00:31So we had to explain where Korea was before we could even talk about our music.
00:37And that was the reality.
00:40But we overcame those barriers and now I'm here today sharing this precious moment with you.
00:47K-pop success came from a step in diversity and embrace of wealth.
00:53K-pop success didn't happen because one single culture was better.
00:59K-pop success came from respecting diversity and embracing royal cultures but still holding on to Korea's unique identity.
01:10When cultural barriers come down and different voices harmonize together, there's an explosion of creative energy.
01:19Don't turn away elements of Western music like hip-hop, R&B, or E&M.
01:25Culture is like a river.
01:28It flows freely, different streams, sometimes coming together in harmony, just like K-pop.
01:35Coming together to carry itself far away and create something new.
01:40I'd like to see this creative flow of culture happen everywhere around the world.
01:46And the Asia-Pacific region has incredible dynamic cultural diversity.
01:52K-pop's shining success is proof that cultural diversity and creativity are the greatest human potential.
