00:00World Series game four after they went 18 innings the night before and threw over 600 pitches
00:05between the two teams. Shohei Otani was on the mound for the home team last night and
00:12Vlad Guerrero got to him early. 2-1. Vladdy hits it high. Kaboom.
00:18Fernandez back on the track, looks up, it is gone. Block a top. Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
00:26puts them in the lead with a two-run shot. 2-1 Blue Jays in the top of the third.
00:32Ding dong. To Otani's credit, that was his worst mistake, I should say, of the night.
00:40We were just talking about his first at bat because there was some discussion as to whether or not
00:44they would just walk him. I was like, yeah, he's a leadoff hitter and he's going to be up first in
00:49the bottom of the first. Maybe they'll just put him on base. They did, but it was a
00:56strange sequence of events. Well, Bieber went 3-0 on him and I figured, okay, they are going to walk
01:01him and then they got it back to 3-2. He threw a traditional 3-0 pitch. It was like right down
01:10the middle and Otani was take the whole time. Second pitch was a curve that was obviously low
01:16and the ump called it a strike and Otani's two steps to first base and came back.
01:21And apologized. I'm sorry. Sorry. Didn't mean to show you up. And it worked for him because the third
01:25pitch, the sixth pitch was a strike and the ump called it a ball. How much was it a strike?
01:32Oh, it was easy four or five inches inside the zone. Thank you. Yeah. And they called it
01:36a ball. He did Otani a side. Okay. I missed that one. So you can have first. Don't tell
01:42me good hitters don't get preferential treatment. Yeah. Even in the World Series. Well, it's
01:46such an odd thing if you're leading off and pitching. You got to like massage the umps.
01:52It's like, cause he got squeezed on a, on a called third strike later in the game and
01:58he can't do anything. Like he, he's, he swears like you can see him swearing, but he's like
02:03very soft. Like he can't really go after the ump cause you got to go out there again.
02:09So, uh, he's in a bit of a difficult position. So, uh, that, uh, two run homer from flag
02:16Guerrero would make it two one in the third. It would stay that way until the seventh when
02:21the Blue Jays started putting guys on base. Here's pitch eight to Jimenez and it's lined
02:26it down and left center field in the score of our show up to third Clement three, one
02:32Blue Jays as Jimenez delivers in the seventh. And they were not done there.
02:37He's still one to Bichette. Swing and a rope, left field and deep, turning back Hernandez.
02:43It's over his head and off the base of the wall. In to score, Andres Jimenez, around a
02:48third Guerrero, low ball RBI, single ball Bichette, five one Blue Jays in the seventh.
02:54He tagged it out to left.
02:55Well, none of that would have happened cause Jimenez got doubled off first and they went
03:02to replay and the announcers were like, Oh no, no, he's out. He's out. He's out. And
03:06then they said, no, no, no, he's safe. And so, uh, and the replay took about four
03:11minutes. Yeah. And then there was like a dribbler to the first base side that scored
03:15a run and, uh, you know, cause that run and then that ending lopsided ending never
03:21would have happened. It just, I mean, I, I don't know how you can just be watching a
03:28replay and just announced that it's and get it. Everything's so wrong. It also interesting
03:36picked in pitching decision by Dave Roberts. I think Otani was at 90 pitches through six
03:41and in today's day and age, 90 pitches, that's it. Especially a guy who plays both
03:46ways like Otani, but considering what happened the game, the game previous to that, where they
03:52blew through the entire bullpen, you kind of forced to bring Otani back out there to see
03:56if he can get through the seventh and then you can use your, you know, your
04:00emergency relievers to get you into, get you to the end of the game. But Otani
04:05was gassed. I mean, he, he gave up two hits immediately and all of a sudden it's
04:09second and third, nobody out in the seventh and you're bringing in your bullpen
04:13and in a no win situation.
