00:00This has been a harrowing and traumatising ordeal and I'm incredibly relieved that it is over and that justice has been achieved from my child and the other young people affected by this government ban on gender-affirming care.
00:15I don't know any Queenslander who would want decisions about their child's medical care being made by politicians or by doctors operating outside their area of medical expertise.
00:26It's patronising them to suggest that I and countless other Queensland parents are unable to look after our children's medical interests.
00:38How can strangers in government possibly claim to know better than the parents who love their children and the highly trained health professionals who care for them with expertise and compassion?
00:49The Premier says he wants to keep kids safe.
00:54There is nothing safe about denying a child their right to expert medical care or telling parents they don't know what's best for their children.
01:03If the Premier cares about the safety of young people, he should ensure that his government adequately funds the gender clinic in accordance with the recommendations made by the Independent Review last year and stop using our kids as political footballs.
