00:00These images, shared by U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth,
00:04show the bombing of four vessels in the Pacific by the U.S. military.
00:09It's the latest in a series of deadly strikes against alleged drug traffickers
00:13by the Trump administration. Hegseth reported 14 were killed in the attacks
00:18and that one survivor was rescued by Mexican authorities.
00:23These narco-terrorists have killed more Americans than Al-Qaeda and they will be treated the same.
00:28We will track them, we will network them, and then we will hunt and kill them.
00:33Since September, at least 10 such strikes have been carried out by the U.S. military
00:37in the Caribbean and the Pacific, as part of an aggressive anti-drug campaign
00:42pushed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
00:45Well, I don't think we're going to necessarily ask for a declaration of war.
00:49I think we're just going to kill people that are bringing drugs into our country, okay?
00:54We're going to kill them, you know? They're going to be, like, dead.
00:58The measures have raised tensions with Venezuela and Colombia
01:01and provoked harsh criticism internationally.
01:05Last week, President Lula of Brazil condemned Trump's actions.
01:10You can't just say you're going to invade and fight drug trafficking in other people's land
01:14without taking into account the constitution of other countries.
01:18If the world becomes lawless without respectability, it will be very difficult to live.
01:25The legality of the strikes has been questioned by democratic lawmakers.
01:29They say it's unclear why the U.S. military has gotten involved rather than the Coast Guard,
01:34and why other efforts to stop drug shipments were not used before resorting to lethal force.
