00:00A tragic plane crash in Kenya has claimed 12 lives, most of them foreign tourists on a safari excursion.
00:07The accident occurred early Tuesday morning in a hilly forested area of coastal Kuali County.
00:13The Mombasa air safari flight was carrying eight Hungarian and two German passengers with two crew members of Kenyan origin to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve.
00:23Officials claim that the crash happened around 5.30 a.m. local time amid heavy rain.
00:31The pilot did not make contact after takeoff from Diani airstrip and the aircraft was later found as a charred wreck.
00:39Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion.
00:43The cause is now under investigation.
00:45This incident raises question as the 2018 international audit found Kenya's accident investigation standard below the global average.
