Funny Company — Funny Company 1972 (Japan, Rock & Roll,Blues Rock)

In 1972, Masahiro Kuwana made his debut with the band Funny Company. The band released their first single, "Sweet Home Osaka," that year, followed by two albums before disbanding. This marked the beginning of his musical career, which later included a successful solo career, starting in 1976.

Kuwana was a troublesome kid growing up. When he was in middle school, he gained expulsion from the school's principal but was readmitted before the school's graduation ceremony. But, he eventually dropped out of school altogether when he was in high school. He eventually turned to music and debut as a singer in 1976 with the album Who are you?. His fourth single, "Sexual Violet No.1", was called a rock hit when it was used as the Kanebo Campaign Song.

Kuwana was arrested and served a three year term for the possession of cocaine in 1977. When he got out in 1980, he became an actor and starred in his first dorama Koibito-tachi. He later married singer Ann Lewis but divorced her four years later in 1984. Together, the couple had two sons for the four years they got married.
