00:07ESPN's Stephen A. Smith believes President Donald Trump is behind the FBI's investigation into sports gambling corruption within the NBA.
00:16On Thursday, FBI Director Kash Patel revealed that 30 people, including several current and former NBA players,
00:23were arrested in a probe into illegal gambling operations and sports rigging operations with the mafia.
00:30Individuals such as Chauncey Billups, Damon Jones, and Terry Rozier were taken into custody today.
00:36Former current NBA players and coaches.
00:38This is an illegal gambling operation and sports rigging operation that spanned the course of years, FBI Director Kash Patel said.
00:46While discussing the arrests on ESPN's first take, Smith implied that the Trump administration targeted the NBA because the league was biased against him.
00:56Trump is coming. He's coming.
00:58Anybody who has seen his reactions from the sports leagues and the positions that people have taken, they are not surprised at what's going on today.
01:06This is just the tip of the iceberg.
01:08I'm watching a press conference with the director of the FBI.
01:12Tell me when we've seen that, he said.
01:14We've seen accusations before.
01:16We've seen athletes get in trouble with the law before.
01:19You don't see the director of the FBI having a press conference.
01:23It's not coincidental. It's not an accident.
01:25It's a statement, and it's a warning that more is coming.
01:29In his eyes, folks tried to throw Trump in jail.
01:32In his eyes, he's innocent and they're trying to put me behind bars.
01:37I'm getting everybody.
01:39He's not playing.
01:40Smith said he believes Trump will come after the WNBA next.
01:45Don't be surprised if the WNBA is next on his list.
01:48Because when you've got all of these protests that have been going out there and people have been protesting against him and what have you,
01:54this man is coming, Smith said.
01:56He's coming.
