00:00Vance jokes about deadly U.S. airstrikes draws laughs from MAGA crowd.
00:05At a Michigan rally, Vice President J.D. Vance got laughs from the crowd as he joked and defended
00:10President Donald Trump's decision to launch deadly airstrikes on boats allegedly carrying
00:14drugs in the Caribbean.
00:17President Trump ordered strikes on at least two Venezuelan boats in the Caribbean, claiming
00:21they were transporting narco-terrorists.
00:24Footage of the attacks was later shared by Trump on Truth Social.
00:27Vance, along with other top officials, downplayed legal concerns surrounding the strikes in
00:32international waters.
00:34On stage, the Vice President said he was proud of Trump's decisions and revealed he had discussed
00:39the matter with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
00:42Vance recalled telling Hegseth that drug boats had stopped coming, joking he wouldn't even
00:46go fishing there now.
00:48He said this showed what a focused military and commander-in-chief can achieve, arguing
00:52that if the government put Americans' interests first, it could secure the country, protect
00:57jobs, raise wages, and stop deadly drugs from entering.
01:00When asked about the legal basis for the strikes, Hegseth stood firm on his stance.
01:05We have the absolute authority and complete authority to conduct that.
01:09First of all, just the defense of the American people alone.
01:13A hundred thousand Americans were killed each year under the previous administration because
01:17of an open border and open drug traffic flow.
