00:00Charlie Kirk's widow, Erica, tearfully says she forgives her husband's killer at his memorial service and funeral.
00:07Charlie Kirk's widow, Erica Kirk, tearfully spoke about her husband in a tribute on Sunday, September 21st.
00:13During the late activist's funeral and memorial service, she said she doesn't wish any ill will on Tyler Robinson, the alleged killer of Charlie.
00:22That young man.
00:23I forgive him, Erica said to the crowd.
00:25The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the gospel is love. It's always love, she continued.
00:33She received a standing ovation from the crowd. Erica recalled finding out about her husband's demise.
00:38When you say, here I am, Lord, use me. God will take you up on that.
00:43And he did with Charlie, she said, dabbing at her eyes with a tissue.
00:4711 days ago, God accepted that total surrender from my husband and then called him to his side, she continued.
00:53On the afternoon of September 10th, I arrived at a Utah hospital to do the unthinkable, to look directly at my husband's murdered body.
01:02I saw the wound that ended his life. I felt everything you would expect to feel.
01:06I felt shock, I felt horror, and a level of heartache that I didn't even know existed.
01:11But there was something else too.
01:13Even in death, I could see the man that I love.
01:15I could see the single gray hair on the side of his head, which I never told him about.
01:19Now he knows, sorry baby.
01:21Erica also brought up how her husband was doing what he loved on his tour in Utah before he was shot in the neck.
01:27And then he blinked and met his savior in paradise, she told the crowd.
01:31After Charlie's assassination, we didn't see violence.
01:34We didn't see rioting.
01:36We didn't see a revolution.
01:37Instead, we saw what my husband always prayed he would see in this country.
01:41We saw a revival, she added.
01:43I bless all of you for coming here from all over the world to honor and celebrate my Charlie.
01:49As OK previously reported, Erica shared her thoughts about the alleged killer in an interview, published that same day.
01:56I've had so many people ask,
01:58Do you feel anger toward this man?
01:59Like, do you want to seek the death penalty?
02:02I'll be honest.
02:03I told our lawyer,
02:04I want the government to decide this.
02:06Erica told the New York Times of the suspected shooter's fate.
02:09I do not want this man's blood on my ledger.
02:12Because when I get to heaven and Jesus is like an eye for an eye,
02:16is that how we do it?
02:18And that keeps me from being in heaven, from being with Charlie.
