Chinese President Xi calls for turning Palace Museum into window for Chinese civilization

00:16the remarks while viewing the exhibition in the Palace Museum marking its 100th founding
00:21anniversary. President Xi said the Palace Museum embodies the culture genes of the Chinese nation.
00:28He stressed that protecting and making the good use of the Palace Museum is a major task for the
00:34country, an honorable mission for all who work there. President Xi also called on the museum to
00:41carry forward its fine traditions, ensure cultural relics truly serve the people and enhance the
00:47preservation and creative use of heritage so the Palace Museum can remain as a vital center
00:53for patriotic education and a window through which the world can better understand Chinese
00:59civilization. Titled a century of stewardship from the Forbidden City to the Palace Museum,
01:05the exhibition features around 200 precious cultural relics and documents across three
01:12sections showcasing the museum's century-long journey of preservation and innovation as well
01:18as the history and enduring cultural lineage of the Chinese nation.
