00:00Screamer
00:09Screamer is an arcade racing game that does a lot of things differently.
00:13One of them is that we designed teams of three characters each
00:18and we put them at the forefront of the experience.
00:21Each team is made of one leader, which we consider the main representative of the team,
00:27and two members, which help him in his journey.
00:30Members use what we call entry-level cars.
00:34They are designed for your first experience with the game
00:38and they are also designed a little bit more for fighting compared to racing.
00:43Leader cars, on the other hand, are designed for racing first and foremost
00:49and fighting in addition to that.
00:51Combining them and finding a character that plays following your preferences
00:56is key to enjoying the game.
00:59With all the things going on in Screamer while racing and fighting,
01:02we had to give the players full control over the cars,
01:06regardless if they are member or leader cars.
01:08So we thought about achieving a perfect drift system with a twin-stick control.
01:15So with the left stick, you control the steering.
01:20You can take very clean and fluid corners, sweeping and tweaking the line of the car.
01:27But if you need something more radical, and quite often you'll need to do so,
01:32to change the direction or to drift around corners or to engage other cars in the fighting part,
01:38you'll use the ride stick that triggers the drift mechanic separately from the steering one.
01:45So you can interact them, so you can drift, steer or correct the drifting with the steering part.
01:54So you can achieve complete control over your car.
01:58The difference is really remarkable, because usually you need to enter, in other games,
02:04the drift state, typically using the brakes.
02:07But it's very hard to understand when to do so and how to do it precisely,
02:13and how to exit the drift.
02:16While in Screamer you have complete control over the two phases,
02:20and you can blend them seamlessly, achieving a total control over your car.
02:25The Twin Stick is just one of our gameplay systems.
02:28Another one is the Eco.
02:30The Eco is a device installed on all vehicles that have to take part in the tournament,
02:35and it's a major plot point of our story.
02:38The Eco is what fuels both the racing and the fighting part of this game.
02:44For the racing, you will use a resource that we call SYNC,
02:48that allows you to boost and to shield.
02:51Instead, for the fighting, you will use what we call the Entropy,
02:56that allows you to use the mechanics of Strike and Overdrive.
03:00So as Federico was saying, SYNC is used for boosting and shielding against attacks.
03:06But how do you build it?
03:08Well, there's a passive way, just getting into the groove of the race,
03:12or actively building it up with specific actions like active shift or doing KOs or others.
03:19It's all integrated into the mechanics and to the gameplay of Screamer,
03:24but we'll cover it more in the next video, going deeper in all the mechanics and how do they work.
03:42so you can get back up to the map using that you can make it better.
03:47It's so important for people to be able to manipulate your life.
