00:06I have now called on the Leader to call a party room immediately

00:10so that every party room member of the Canberra Liberals can have a say

00:14on the unilateral decision that the Leader has taken to suspend myself and Mr Kane from party room

00:22and the decision that she has taken to make moves to remove us permanently

00:29from party room.

00:31It was much to my surprise that I received a text from the Whip just before 2 o'clock today

00:37saying I was suspended from party room and obviously that was a consequence of me

00:42crossing the floor this morning to support the retention of 13 city weeks for next year.

00:52I'm very disappointed frankly that my colleagues weren't also in support of keeping the current

00:58number of sitting weeks unfortunately the government and the majority of the Canberra Liberals supported

01:05a 12-week sitting week.

01:06Having an extra week of three days in my opinion was something any solid opposition should support

01:15and I gave my reasons for that support in my speech this morning but this government needs

01:20to be held accountable.

01:21The Assembly is the place where we can actually make some statements, we can pass laws, we

01:28can call on votes.

01:29The Assembly is where we can make a difference for the betterment of the ACT community.
