00:00Arriving in the low isles is like stepping into a David Attenborough documentary, a bird
00:08lover's paradise, a cacophony of sounds wherever you go.
00:14And for this lucky couple it's also home for at least the next year.
00:19It was smaller than I thought, but honestly I think if I had a step counter I'd be doing
00:24more steps on this island walking around raking, checking than I would at home.
00:28We weren't really expecting to be successful, but much to our surprise we were.
00:33The Camerons have already lived on several remote Tasmanian islands.
00:37You have to be reasonably resourceful because there's no big hardware store just down the
00:44road.
00:45But the former caretakers have left big shoes to fill.
00:48It's a very, very significant spot internationally because of the research that's been done on
00:54the reef out there.
00:55It's a phenomenal island in terms of just how much variety in seasonal life there is,
01:03both marine life as well as the bird life.
01:06It's round the clock work in an often harsh environment, but the Camerons are raring to
01:11go.
01:12I'm a person who believes if this is still for too long you get old.
01:15I'm just not ready to get old yet.
01:17Cheers.
01:18A labour of love in tropical bliss.
01:20Cheers.
01:21Cheers.
01:22Cheers.
01:23Here we go.
01:25You're going to go.
01:26We're going to go.
01:26We're going to go.
01:28Let's go.
01:28No, no.
