00:04In the name of God, the merciful, the compassionate,

00:08His Highness, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani,

00:12Mayor of the State of Qatar,

00:14Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen,

00:19may the peace of God be upon you.

00:30Welcome to Doha, the capital of our state,

00:39which has become a destination for international fora,

00:45an international center that gathers decision-makers

00:50and intellectuals to build the bridges of dialogue and cooperation.

00:56The Qatar Economic Forum this year is being held amid transformations

01:04in the global economy and politics,

01:07which highlights the need for dialogue platforms

01:11gathering decision-makers, entrepreneurs, innovators,

01:16and intellectuals in order to define the upcoming opportunities

01:22of investment and face the challenges,

01:28particularly the necessity to guarantee stability and growth.

01:35Excellencies, the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Gaza

01:40is still ongoing despite the efforts of the state of Qatar,

01:45Qatar, Egypt, the U.S., and despite the efforts that we are exerting,

01:53however, we are still witnessing how the opportunities to de-escalate

01:59are going to waste.

02:01When the Israeli-American, Idhan Alexander, was released,

02:06we considered that this would allow for stopping the crisis.

02:11However, the retaliation was further raids that led to the death of hundreds of innocents.

02:20This irresponsible attack is undermining any chance in peace.

02:27Yet, we are committed to continue our diplomatic efforts with our partners

02:33to put an end to this war and to release all hostages and prisoners

02:38in order to equally stop the struggles of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

02:47With regards to Syria, the decision to lift the American sanctions imposed on this sister country

02:54consists an important step in the right direction.

02:58We look forward to additional similar steps.

03:03This is a clear message to the region and the world

03:06that the priority must be to give a real, complete opportunity

03:12for peoples getting out of conflicts in order for them to build better futures.

03:19Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen,

03:21economic growth and political stability are intertwined.

03:26You cannot achieve one without the other.

03:29Based on this, the state of Qatar adopts an efficient diplomatic approach

03:36based on productive work in order to solve conflicts,

03:43knowing that peace is essential for any sustainable development.

03:48We believe that every diplomatic effort exerted

03:53is an investment in a safer and more stable future.

03:57When we see a young person in Gaza finishing their studies

04:01or a family in Syria returning,

04:04we understand the importance of stability on the life of people.

04:09Dear ladies and gentlemen,

04:11In Qatar, we look towards a diversified economy based on knowledge and innovation,

04:18accompanying the technological advancements,

04:23and we aspire to have Qatar a worldwide center for investment,

04:30for business based on trust and confidence.

04:34And we hope that Qatar is always a trustworthy partner,

04:38whether in energy or investment, just like it is in diplomacy.

04:43From this, we translate our vision into a reality

04:48through diversifying our investments abroad

04:53in order to enhance the equilibrium

04:56and contribute in a sustainable economy.

05:00The Qatar Investment Authority

05:03implements its vision through strategies across the world.

05:09This year, we have important investments in the U.S., in Africa, and in China.

05:16These initiatives reflect our trust in the market dynamics,

05:23particularly emerging markets and their future potential.

05:27Locally, the Qatari economy continues its positive performance.

05:34We have a real growth of 2.4 percent in 2024,

05:39and our GDP has increased.

05:44This growth is the result of progress in non-oil sectors

05:51that have grown by 3.4 percent annually,

05:55which is a clear indicator to stable progress

06:00towards the growth or the goals of our national strategy.

06:06By 2024, the direct foreign investments has reached 9.9 million Qatari Riyal,

06:15which affirms the increased trust of foreign investors in the Qatar economy.

06:21Accompanying this momentum, Qatar continues updating its regulation and framework

06:28in order for the environment to be more attractive for investors.

06:31In this context, we are glad today to announce the launch of the first program of motives for investors,

06:40targeting strategic sectors, including production, advanced technology, and logistics.

06:49This package is an important step to increase development in main sectors

06:56that are pillars of the future of our economy.

06:59In addition to the industry, we have launched this year's MESMA project,

07:06which is one of the largest entertainment projects in the region.

07:11It is essential in the tourism and real estate sectors,

07:16and it is a driver for comprehensive development.

07:19In terms of innovation and digitalization, Qatar has affirmed its stage

07:26as it has welcomed in February 2025 the second Web Summit

07:33with the participation of more than 25,000 people from 124 countries.

07:41The Web Summit has created a communication forum between the emerging centers in Asia and Africa

07:51in addition to sovereign funds and large companies.

07:56This once again confirms the place of Qatar being a place of linking,

08:04and Qatar has also welcomed MWC, will be welcoming, excuse me, in November the MWC placing Qatar

08:17on the digital economic map to accompany this development and to participate effectively in it.

08:25Qatar will launch a new project which will be revealed this year.

08:30These achievements all together reflect the commitment of Qatar to guarantee its place as an economy and investment hub.

08:42It enshrines its seriousness in having a future of diversity, of innovation and sustainability.

08:51Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen, Qatar seeks to play its role in an economy

09:00a global economy that is more fair, just, and that is human-centered.

09:05We look forward to have Qatar a place of discussion, of debate and dialogue

09:11in an environment that allows for peace, stability and investment.

09:20We look for a mix of diplomacy, growth, and we look forward to focusing on human dignity.
