00:00What's holding up these deliveries? It's already been six years, right, in the pipeline.

00:04And how is this going to affect not just Boeing itself, but its customers as well?

00:08Yeah, so Boeing is communicating privately that it expects its newest marquee jet,

00:13this long-haul 777X, to start flying commercially in 2027.

00:18And so it's a blow for customers who have been waiting, as you said, since 2020.

00:23I think the problem for Boeing at the moment is it raises the specter of having to take

00:27yet another cash charge, a non-cash accounting charge that could be between $2.5 to $4 billion.

00:34So this is something that it could ill afford given the number of setbacks it has faced

00:39over the last several years. And it's interesting that Kelly Otberg, the Boeing CEO,

00:45had signaled at a Morgan Stanley conference just last month that there was a mountain

00:49of certification issues that it was facing that it needed to clear.

00:53And so maybe he was indeed laying the groundwork for more bad news that's on the way for Boeing

00:59and for the 777X. And we do have indeed earnings that Boeing will be unveiling at the end of October.

01:05So maybe we'll get a formal announcement then. But this is indeed a setback given all the problems

01:11that Boeing has gone through. Kelly Otberg, of course, drafted in to tackle the regulatory,

01:15financial production and operational challenges that Boeing has faced.
