00:00Hi, can I get a four-count chicken nugget happy meal with an orange high-sea and sweet and sour sauce?
00:06But before you judge, downsizing is in.
00:12Yes, I am one of the 44% of adults who order from the kids' menu.
00:18A new study from Lightspeed Commerce Incorporated found the top reasons to be smaller portions, simpler choices, and more budget-friendly prices.
00:27Here at a McDonald's in Atlanta, I paid $5.99 for my happy meal, complete with four chicken nuggets, fries, apple slices, a toy, and a drink.
00:38While fast food is usually a budget option, this study drops just as McDonald's brings back its extra-value meals, adding more affordable choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
00:50The survey also looked at other dining trends, like going out alone.
00:5455% of people say they dine solo by choice, calling it a form of self-care or a chance to try new places.
01:02And another trend? Tip fatigue.
01:05More than half of diners say they feel pressured by preset tipping screens, and 44% admit they're tipping less.
01:12According to the National Restaurant Association, full-service menu prices were up 4.6% in August compared to last year,
01:20which could explain why some adults are turning to the kids' menu.
01:25Husband, what's for dinner?
