00:00So this is made out of a curtain from Goodwill.
00:04Connect it with these safety pins.
00:06It's a very like industrial feeling.
00:08In day-to-day life, I pretty much wear all black.
00:30Hi, my name's Maya Manser and I'm on my first ever North American headline tour called She's
00:44A Dream.
00:45I have a brand new song coming out called Who Are You on September 12th.
00:50And my music is super ethereal and a lot of people describe it as cinematic pop.
00:58I'm going to take you through some of the outfits that I wear on this tour and here they are.
01:06So the first one that I'll be wearing is the theme is angelic beings.
01:13I like to dress up as different ethereal archetypes.
01:18So like the original Greek siren, which was really half bird, half woman.
01:25So or maybe like the siren that, you know, is literally living in the water and has a fishtail.
01:31Or I had another show where I did like, you know, it was it was like siren of the swamp.
01:39So I really have a lot of fun with different mythical creatures in some kind of way.
01:45So for this first tour outfit, this is for this is for kind of like the Greek siren or even, you know, one even might say an angel.
01:58Because the theme for these shows will be angelic beings.
02:02I most of the time work with my best friend to design these outfits and come up with something just really fun and cool.
02:12She designs like theater costumes and makes them.
02:16So everything is handmade by her.
02:18Her name's Fantasia Ausland.
02:20She's the coolest person ever.
02:22But yeah, so it's basically this kind of white tattered torn dress.
02:30And then this super, super cool corset that has, you know, literally she she got feathers on there.
02:38I love how she thought of this idea to connect it with these safety pins.
02:43It's a very like industrial feeling, which to me matches like kind of the the big, heavy, powerful vibes of the music.
02:52So there's kind of like it's not all just super ethereal vibes.
02:57There's like also like a darkness and like, you know, an edginess to the music.
03:01So I felt like this was such a beautiful detail that she added.
03:05And then, of course, these are armbands that have some nice feathers right by the hands.
03:11It's really, really cool.
03:12Everything's very, very thought out.
03:14So I came to my friend and I said, I want to make basically what looks like the Greek, a Greek siren or or, you know, what what someone who like if a Greek siren was out doing casual wear, which this isn't very casual.
03:35However, it's still pretty casual compared to like, you know, it's like I could maybe wear this down the street if I was feeling spicy.
03:45So, yeah, like I think my big thing was she's really good at working with me to amplify and tell me like also what's not possible.
03:59So I might like draw something sort of out and then she's like, how about like this?
04:04I'm like, yeah, this is perfect.
04:06This is great.
04:07And so she then goes and draws these amazing, you know, fashion drawings of like what it should look like.
04:16And I usually love her first drawing because she's been my friend for wait 16 years.
04:29Is that true?
04:30Yes.
04:31She's been my friend for 16 years.
04:33And she's just like, I know her and she knows me so well.
04:39And it's been a really special experience for us because she's made lots of outfits for me in the past here and there.
04:47But it's been more and more over the last couple of years.
04:51And she's just so talented, obviously.
04:53And I want the world to know.
04:55And yeah, she's she's so cool.
05:00Yeah. So for these shows, I'm switching off between these outfits night to night.
05:05The two different themes that are throughout the tour are angelic beings and sirens.
05:12So my fans or whoever comes to the show get to dress up if they want, if they catch the memo.
05:20And it makes it really fun for me because I love to dress up.
05:24So then my fans and followers, they can dress up as well.
05:28And it's it just makes it a fun vibe.
05:31So for the second outfit, this one is for sirens.
05:38It looks it looks pretty funky right here right now.
05:41But when it's on, I'm just going to pull it up just so it's a little easier to see visually.
05:47It kind of turns into this like little dress like this.
05:53And it's supposed to look like it's made of water.
05:58And so my friend Fantasia, she also made this one.
06:02And I she she made this look for me a year ago or so.
06:09And it was I wanted it to look like I had been shipwrecked.
06:12So the one that the top piece was like also made like this.
06:18It was this white silicone.
06:19And then I had like this big kind of white frilly skirt, you know, and I was like to look like I had been shipwrecked.
06:25This one, I wanted it to really look like water.
06:29So when it's on the way it flows is so super, super beautiful and just kind of one with the with the water.
06:36Yeah, I'm like a water lady.
06:38So that one again is for the sirens theme and I can't wait to see how people dress up to be a siren as well.
06:48So this is made out of a curtain from Goodwill and some other some other scrap fabric that she had and silicone.
06:59She molded it out of silicone and then on the side here, it laces up the side with these these grommets and everything.
07:07It's quite an experience trying to put it on, but it is really cool when it's really, really cool.
07:15Yeah. So I don't really wear jewelry.
07:19I have one necklace that I wear all the time and it's made by this really incredible designer named Drool Jewelry.
07:27And it's super cool. It looks like little raindrops all over my skin and it's made out of resin.
07:34It's it's so cool.
07:35I realized I've been a fan of her work for a while and then she does these drops where she only drops like 30 a month and I could never catch it in time.
07:48And so finally, I realized that she was following me back.
07:51And so I hit her up and I was like, can I please buy one now?
07:55I want one of these so bad and I wear it all the time.
07:58I'll probably wear it with both of the outfits.
08:00It doesn't get in my way. Otherwise, I don't really wear jewelry because I feel like it could get in my way while I'm performing and I dance and I move a lot and it just doesn't feel like a safe idea.
08:13So I feel like on stage I wear some brighter colors generally.
08:19I wear more white.
08:21I had one look where I wore all black, but generally I like to wear like this, you know, a white or this is the first time me doing the blue sea foam.
08:32But in day to day life, I pretty much wear all black all the time.
08:39And like even what I'm wearing right now, this this I I do collect from a lot of like smaller designers.
08:48That's that's one of my things. And this one is this really amazing designer out of Los Angeles named Sub Surface.
08:56And she's got really cool kind of again, I think I like I like a lot of things that look like water.
09:06You know, they kind of imitate this to me imitates the strings of water.
09:12And I find myself gravitating more and more to those types of things, even in my everyday wear.
09:18So my makeup look is pretty specific.
09:22I, you know, for branding purposes and also I just feel like it looks the best on me.
09:28I kind of like to think about a Renaissance painting when I'm doing my makeup.
09:34So I'm not too heavy handed, but, you know, like blushy cheeks, like rosy lips, you know, the things that are again, it should almost feel more Renaissance-y.
09:48I, I add some darkness around my eyes on stage because I think it helps to pop.
09:53But generally I, I keep the makeup. I'm a little bit lighter on the makeup.
09:59I do add some glitter sometimes, but, you know, anything that kind of adds to the mythical vibes.
10:11I think this is, I use this, oh, look, it's kind of gross, but I use this blush all the time.
10:20It's really quite old actually, but it's my handy dandy Lancome blush.
10:26Um, I also wear this lip stain. I am a lip stain fanatic.
10:33So, because I don't like having to reapply, I don't like the feeling of lipstick on my mouth that like, kind of like, gives me the ick.
10:43Um, so lip stain, I love not being able to feel it.
10:47Um, so this is a, this is Sushi Glow, which I wear the color Lovesick.
10:53Um, and I kind of let it fade off a little bit.
10:57And I also do a lip line with this pinked Satu Beauty as well, the lip liner stain.
11:08So I do that as well as this.
11:10I love a lip stain.
11:12I don't want to reapply.
11:14Um, then other than that, I, I do, um, kind of, I add blush also to the, my eyelids.
11:21So it's very blushy, very, very blushy usually.
11:25Um, sometimes I might add some pearls to the eyes.
11:31Um, and of course we got good old mascara.
11:36But other than that, I like to add a lot of shimmer to make it feel like a wet look.
11:45So I'm gonna find it.
11:48Oh, this is, this is this really amazing brand called Submission.
11:52Um, and they have, um, completely eco-friendly non-plastic glitter.
11:58I think it's made from plants.
12:00And I love this stuff.
12:03It's incredible.
12:04It's totally safe for your eyes, your face, anything, your animals.
12:08Um, and they also have this gorgeous highlight that I use a lot.
12:14And it looks like pearls, but it just adds this really nice kind of, um, it almost makes me look like an apparition, which is perfect.
12:29We want to look like an apparition.
12:31I'm fine.
12:32I'm happy with that.
12:33So, um, yeah, those are kind of like my main go-to products.
12:39Thanks so much for watching.
12:41You can find all my tour dates on my website, which is www.mayamancer.com slash tour.
12:48And you can also find me with the same name on any social media platform.
12:54My new single, Who Are You?, is coming out on September 12th.
12:59And if you're really looking for those siren, mythical, dreamy vibes, this song is for you.
13:07Mm-hmm.
