00:00Today, 3-1 was the final in favor of the European side.
00:06Mark, what do you make of this?
00:07It was three out of the four rounds, didn't go to the 16th hole.
00:11It looked like Europe had full control in the early stages.
00:15Well, what I make of it was it was a near disaster for the U.S.
00:18I mean, this was the worst thing that could have happened, you know, for Keegan Bradley, the U.S. captain.
00:23The best thing could have happened for Luke Donald, the European captain, who heard a lot of silence out there.
00:27You know, the narrative of this entire week was that Bethpage Black and, you know, the loud fans of New York were going to rule this place.
00:35And when you walked around there, it was like a morgue out there.
00:39The U.S. just wasn't making putts.
00:41The Europeans, as they usually do, were making a lot of putts.
00:44This felt almost, you know, by the end of the morning session, it almost felt like a European home game.
00:50It was a very, very odd feeling out there.
00:52What I would say is the U.S. potentially could have been saved by that last match with Patrick Cantlieb and Xander Schauffeleb that ended up winning that.
01:01In Rome two years ago, the U.S. lost 4-0 in this session, and were on the back foot for the entire rest of the way and never got close.
01:09So this afternoon is massive right now.
01:11You got Scheffler back out again, which is important.
01:15You know, DeChambeau and Ben Griffin, I think, is a really good team.
01:20So, I mean, they just need to tighten this thing up a little bit.
01:23They can't lose 3-1 again in this session.
01:27Because that deficit just makes guys press more than they're already pressing now.
01:33So, you know, I feel like they need to probably, at worst, split this afternoon session, which would be very manageable to just be, you know, a couple down going into the Saturday matches.
01:46Do you think the weather played a big factor this morning?
01:49And obviously things are a little bit clearer now.
01:51And then for the rest of the weekend, how do you think the weather is going to shape up?
01:54I think the weather is going to be, it looks like it's going to be fine the rest of the week.
01:56I mean, the only thing the weather did yesterday when it rained was just soften the golf course up.
02:00I don't think it ever had any effect on the play today.
02:04I just think the effect of the play today was the Europeans making putts.
02:07And that's kind of what they always do better than the U.S. for some reason in these matches.
02:11And, yeah, I'm a bit surprised at how things unfolded in the morning.
02:16Because I really thought, particularly the DeChambeau-Thomas grouping going out first, it started great.
02:22I mean, DeChambeau almost drives the green.
02:24You know, they birdied the first hole, they win the first hole.
02:26But everything seemed to go downhill from there until the last match with Cantlay and Shawperley.
