00:00Warrant, you are the only black quarterback in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
00:04How do you process that distinction today and where we are in 2025?
00:08And what does it say about your journey through the NFL and the CFL as well?
00:12Yeah, it's something that's surprising to me, first of all,
00:14because being the first one inducted, it was a great honor for me.
00:19And I felt like a lot of guys who played before me
00:22that either played the position or didn't get a chance to play the position,
00:26really, it was an award I wanted to share with those guys
00:30because I know how tough that journey was,
00:33not just to play quarterback and get to the NFL level,
00:36but the extra journey that we had to go through
00:39as far as some of the racial barriers we had to go through
00:41in order to prove to people that we could play that position.
00:44So it's quite an honor, but I'm hoping soon
00:48there will be somebody else in there with me
00:50because there's a lot of other guys sitting out there
00:52that I think are qualified to be inducted,
00:54like a Donovan McNabb or Randall Cunningham or Steve McNair.
00:58Those guys, you know, should be in the Hall of Fame.
01:01So hopefully one day when we take that group quarterback picture
01:05every year that we take at the Hall of Fame,
01:08there'll be another African-American standing in that picture with me.
