00:00Hello and welcome to this South Australian Jane's Weather Update for Monday.
00:04First of all, I want to point out all of the speckled cloud and just how widespread it is.
00:09The main part of that is over southeastern parts of Tasmania, it's standing up into Victoria.
00:14But look at this speckled cloud, it's extending all the way here into southern parts of South Australia as well.
00:19This is a huge area of cold air, even though it is the last week of October.
00:24Now, that's what we've got in the south today, that's the energy, that's the cold punch.
00:28But to our north, we've got our next rain system that is brewing.
00:32So the first one has moved on through, that's now moving out to sea, just a little bit left for Victoria.
00:37We've just got this very light activity that's coming through.
00:39To our north, we've got this next one kicking off.
00:42OK, so let's have a look day by day what to expect.
00:45There's our rainfall in the north, here's just our light little leftover bit for the south.
00:49So this is a northern thing.
00:51Let's have a look as we move through to Tuesday, that has moved out to our east.
00:54This is the Queensland and New South Wales system.
00:56It is not for us in through here.
00:58High pressure is back.
00:59Have a look at Wednesday.
01:00Things are looking fairly quiet.
01:02We've got the next burst of heat that is coming down from the west there.
01:05Have a look at Thursday.
01:07This is a change coming through.
01:09The cool change is here by the end of the day.
01:12You can see the kinks in the isobars in through there.
01:14Heat out ahead.
01:15Here is the cool change.
01:17It doesn't bring much wet weather as it swings through across the south there.
01:20Then into Friday, it may increase as it moves into the southeast,
01:24but I'm not expecting it to be quite that heavy.
01:26So I'd say less in through here by the time we actually get there.
01:29Next high pressure system is here.
01:31Our next burst of heat is now brewing in the west.
01:34And there's Friday.
01:35Have a look at Saturday.
01:36Here's our heat coming through.
01:37Here's our next big wet weather system.
01:40That is a feed of moisture.
01:41Let's just zoom out.
01:42It's a feed of moisture coming down from the tropics there
01:45and a burst of energy that is in behind it.
01:47That is going to collide pretty much over us.
01:49So there's Saturday just kicking off.
01:51Here is Sunday, likely to be quite widespread.
01:54And into Monday, likely to be incredibly widespread.
01:58Now, the timing, the feel of this may change as we get closer.
02:01So keep an eye on it.
02:02Have a look at those day-by-day maps to see if you're still in the right spot.
02:06But this is the potential for a major weather system to come through
02:09across the weekend and into early next week.
02:12What could that add up to?
02:14By the end of Monday, this is if we are in the zone,
02:16which we are likely to be 25 to 50 millimetres
02:19through a large part of these parts here.
02:22It's got that feed from the north.
02:23It's got the energy coming in.
02:25And we are in the path of that.
02:27In the north-east, less.
02:28We've got that rainfall that's moving through early in the week.
02:31And then there's the very weak change that comes through later on.
02:34The main wet weather here isn't until the weekend and early next week.
02:38So in Adelaide, let's have a look.

02:44There's hardly any wet weather.
02:45The cloud is on its way out.

02:49That's on Thursday ahead of a cool change coming in through here.
02:53It's not likely to add up to very much as it comes in.
02:55We jump back up again as we go into Saturday, into Sunday,
02:59and that's when the cool change is likely.
03:01So temperatures plummet,
03:02but we've got all of this wet weather that comes with it.
03:05So building over the weekend and increasing as we move into early next week.
