00:00Bounce back win for the Liberty tonight here at the Barclays Center as they ended a two-game skid with an 81-79 victory over the Connecticut Sun.
00:09But the story of this game was the return of Breonna Stewart.
00:11She had missed 13 games with a bone bruise and came back in a major way.
00:1619 points and five rebounds leading the Liberty to victory.
00:21It was good to have their star back and she said that she felt good to be back on the court.
00:25Yeah, I felt great.
00:26I think that I was trying to get Sandy to let me play more minutes, but I wanted to push it while I was out there and see how I felt and it was great to be back with the team.
00:38Stewie's return to the court is so important because there's been very few times this season when herself, John Paul Jones and Sabrina Nescu have all finished a game together.
00:47In fact, it's only happened 10 times and in all 10 of those games, the Liberty are undefeated.
00:52Head coach Sandy Brondello says she knows how important it is to have all three of her stars on the court at the same time.
00:59We've played together for a few years now and that chemistry certainly helps.
01:03It's just great to just get Stewie out there.
01:05I thought we started great.
01:07Connecticut, they've improved so much here, so I'm just happy that we found a way to win.
01:11But still lots of areas to work on and to be better at and we need these games just to continue to build the chemistry.
01:17And now we've got different lineups too, we're playing with these big lineups and we have to work out what our menu is for that at both ends.
01:24So the Liberty are trying to get healthier as the season comes to a close.
01:27Only six games left here in the regular season.
01:30We did get an update on Natasha Cloud after this contest.
01:33Head coach Sandy Brondello saying that she has a small fracture in her nose, but should be available for Thursday's game here at the Barclays Center against the Mystics.
01:42So the Liberty are going to see if they can build on this one.
01:46They ended a two-game skid here tonight with the 81-79 victory over the Sun and they're going to try to get right.
01:52The team talked about a lot of things that they have to work on down the stretch over these final six games.
01:57And obviously, seeding for the playoffs is important.
02:00Liberty currently fifth at the time of this recording in the WNBA standings and they will look to move up as they have some very important games to close out this season.
