00:00Make it back-to-back victories for the New York Liberty at home this week.
00:04An 89-63 win over the Washington Mystics here on Thursday night.
00:09And the story of this game is going to be about what the Liberty did
00:12with who they didn't have playing in this game.
00:15No Sabrina Unescu, no John Cole Jones, no Natasha Cloud,
00:18and the team still got the job done.
00:20They were led by the team-high 16 points of Isabel Harrison.
00:24An impressive performance for her, considering that she had not played
00:27in just two weeks as she was out in concussion protocol,
00:30and she came back and delivered in a huge way.
00:33It's like being on the sidelines and seeing my teammates struggle
00:36because I know I couldn't do anything.
00:38So I just knew, especially with having J.J. out,
00:41I just wanted to bring just more aggressiveness and just that effort
00:46and the rebound that we need to consistently have.
00:48So I was so happy to be back out here again.
00:51It's often said you don't have to get ready if you stay ready,
00:55and the Liberty players did that tonight.
00:57It wasn't just Isabel Harrison.
00:59Four other players beside her reached double-digit scoring,
01:01a very impressive performance throughout.
01:04Without their stars, the Liberty was still trying to get healthy
01:06for the stretch run of the season,
01:08and the performance tonight was something that impressed
01:10the head coach, Sandy Brondello.
01:12Yeah, I mean, they're being professionals and staying ready.
01:17It doesn't matter that maybe you haven't played as many minutes
01:19as you would like in some of the games.
01:21It's always about being prepared for when your number is called.
01:23And, like, we encourage it.
01:26It's a part of it.
01:27That's what we want to do.
01:28But they want it because you want to get the feel for the game.
01:31You know, when you don't play for, you know,
01:33getting those consistent minutes, you lose that little feel.
01:37So, you know, credit to all them putting in the hard work
01:39so when their number is called.
01:41And they will be for us tonight to go five from six
01:43on the three-point line as well.
01:44And then, obviously, the rebounding and the assist that they gave,
01:47it was fantastic.
01:48All right, so next up for the Liberty is the final five games of the season,
01:52but they're going to be heading out west for three starting on Saturday
01:55when they will battle the Phoenix Mercury.
01:57Then they head to Golden State to play the Valkyries
01:59and then into Seattle to play the Storm.
02:02So a three-game West Coast road trip that will really determine a lot
02:05about where the Liberty will finish in these standings.
02:08But a huge win tonight over the Mystics,
02:10and Liberty will now look to build upon that on the road.
02:14We'll have more Liberty coverage coming up on Liberty lately
02:16with myself and Madeline Kenny this week.
02:18But that does it from here at the Barclays Center.
02:21I'm Dexter Henry.
