00:00So,
00:29Big Blue, Big Blue, Big Blue, Big Blue. Welcome to the post-game show, the live post-game show for the New York Post sports. This is the Blue Rush post-game show for the New York Post sports. Giants lose to the Broncos, 33-32. The losing streak in terms of road games, that road game losing streak now continues. I'm Brandon London here. Thank you to everybody who watched the live stream of the Watch Party.
00:57Let's go ahead and bring in our New York Post sports reporter, writer, Jared Schwartz, because we just, I don't know. I'm going through all these group chats with a lot of Giants fans. We're texting back and forth right now.
01:15Jared, I've heard so many people tell me, I don't even know, like, I don't even know how to respond. A lot of people are like, I don't know how to respond. They don't know how to react to what just happened. 33 points scored in the fourth quarter. That's never been done in franchise history.
01:32Jared, you watched. I guess, go ahead, give us your thoughts, man, and let's break this thing down as best as we can.
01:41Before we get into everything, the first thing that stands out to me, and it's something that we've been talking about for weeks, and it's something that I think a lot of fans could see coming, and something that a lot of fans brought as a possible, you know, place that things will go wrong.
01:56It's another game that the Giants basically played without a real NFL kicker. You know, Jude McAtemi, he's not an NFL caliber kicker, and there's a plethora of reasons the Giants lost this game.
02:09Yes, they gave 33 points in the fourth quarter. Yes, the offense went stale in the fourth quarter. Yes, Drew Phillips got, you know, beat a couple times down the field.
02:18So, you know, yes, the penalties on defense. The top reason the Giants lost was because they played another NFL game without an NFL caliber kicker.
02:28Okay, so while we're waiting right now, we're trying to figure out if we can get Jared's sound on, because I can't hear him in my ear.
02:36Appreciate you guys rocking with me. I guess I'll kind of, I'll get to chatting about it, and we'll talk right now.
02:41We'll try to figure out what exactly happened here. A lot of the text that I'm getting, and a lot of what I'm seeing in the group chat in terms of what Giants fans, what you guys are talking about right now.
02:55A lot of people are saying Burns got burned out. You can see the oxygen mask on the defense.
03:01They feel as though the defense was burnt out and really couldn't give their all.
03:05Give their all. I thought some of the play calling got a little bit too conservative towards the end of the football game, because that's a game where with everything on the line, that is, in terms of the season, people's jobs, evaluating quarterbacks, evaluating play calling for coordinators, everything, with everything on the line,
03:31you got to close that game out. You got to close that game out. You have to win that game, and it's the second game this season.
03:38If you go back to the Cowboys game, where the defense, where the defense wasn't able, or the Giants, just as a whole, weren't able to close a game out.
03:50So, we'll start with the kicking, because that has been an issue for quite some time now,
03:58whether it's Graham Grinnell being hurt and being a scratch before a game.
04:04Now, Jude Mcatamey misses the extra point at the beginning, and I said, you know, during the live show, during the live stream, I said, keep an eye on that,
04:15because that's going to come back and bite the Giants in the butt.
04:18But they kept scoring.
04:20So, it's something you kind of put back in the back of your mind.
04:23It was like, all right, well, maybe that doesn't hurt you as much.
04:26But in the game where you're playing at Empower Field, you're playing against a Broncos team that came back against the Eagles,
04:34just got another win against the Jets last week in London, which wasn't a pretty win.
04:41Anything can happen against this team.
04:43So, the kicking, to go down and score at the end of the game to take the lead,
04:53and you just need an extra point to go up three, to shank the extra point, you are upset.
05:03Giants fans, I do not blame you at all for being upset about the mishaps in the kicking game.
05:13This cannot happen, because guys, skilled position guys, semi-skilled position guys,
05:19and the guys in the trenches are out there fighting their asses off, play in, play out.
05:26And the kicking, again, bites the Giants in the ass.
05:30We're going to see if we can get Jared up in here.
05:33Hopefully we can get the audio.
05:34Jared, I just went on my little rant, my frustration rant.
05:38But your thoughts on the game, man.
05:41I just ended off on the kicking.
05:43I mean, the kicking is what I was going to say before.
05:48So many things went wrong, right?
05:5033 points given up in the second half.
05:52The defense folds down the stretch.
05:55Penalties on defense.
05:56Penalties here and there.
05:57The number one reason the Giants lost that game is because they played yet another game
06:01without an NFL-caliber kicker.
06:03And that's something that fans could see coming.
06:06That's something that fans warned as a potential problem.
06:10That's something that fans have said for weeks.
06:14This guy, Jude McIntyre, he's a nice story, NFL pathway program,
06:17but he's not an NFL-caliber kicker.
06:18And when Graham Gano went down, the Giants signed Young-Way-Koo to the practice squad.
06:23It was like, all right, Young-Way-Koo is going to be the new kicker.
06:25They made a surprising decision to make Jude the kicker.
06:29And he's not an NFL-caliber kicker.
06:31Look, he misses two extra points.
06:34They punt a potential 54-yard field goal because he's not capable of kicking field goals
06:39from that range.
06:41That's already five points right there.
06:43They also had to go for a two-point conversion because they had already missed the extra point.
06:47That's another one or two points that you miss out on there.
06:49That's five, potentially six or seven points that you left on the board
06:53simply because you played a game without an NFL-caliber kicker.
06:56And we've seen the problem crop up in a different way.
07:01Like last year when Graham Gano picked up an injury and the Giants lost to the Commanders
07:05because they didn't have a kicker.
07:06We saw earlier this year when Gano got hurt and he was only available for short field goals
07:11and Jamie Gillen had to fill in.
07:14Today was a different problem.
07:15It was that they had a healthy kicker.
07:17He's just not capable of kicking.
07:18I mean, it's unacceptable.
07:21You know, when Dart, you know, lunged and scored that go-ahead touchdown with 40 seconds left,
07:29you know, I was talking to my roommate and it was, should they go for two?
07:32Like, should they go for two and potentially go up four and make the Broncos score a touchdown?
07:38Or not just for that, but because you have a kicker who can't even make an extra point.
07:44And look, they made the decision the last couple of weeks to run with Jude McAtemi and he's not good enough.
07:51He's not an NFL caliber kicker.
07:52He's a nice story.
07:53He came from the NFL pathway program, but this is a guy who lost his job at Rutgers.
07:59I think he went 12 of 20 his last year at Rutgers and lost his kicking job in college at Rutgers.
08:03And he's never attempted a kick over 40 yards or more.
08:07You know, all across the league, you see teams that can try out guys for 65 yards, 60-yard field goals, 55.
08:15The Giants don't have a guy who they even trust to kick longer than a 40-yard field goal.
08:18And it's confusing because they have a guy like Young-Way Koo on the practice squad.
08:22He's a guy that, look, he was cut for a reason.
08:24He was struggling, but he's been a kicker in the league.
08:27He's hit 50-yard field goals.
08:29You can trust him to hit extra points.
08:30And look, there's a lot of reasons they lost.
08:33The number one is because they played without a kicker.
08:35Yeah, and we know who that kid is, the Young-Way Koo.
08:39We know who he is because he's had success in the NFL.
08:43Like when the Giants signed him, I don't think anyone out there was opposed to Young-Way Koo coming in and being the Giants kicker.
08:52Not trying to fight it out with Jude.
08:55Not trying to go to the practice squad and prove to everyone that you could be an NFL kicker.
09:02I think we all automatically assumed that Young-Way Koo was going to take over the kicking duties because we know who he is.
09:11We know that the familiarity is that the trust is there in terms of, all right, this guy's made plays in the league or made big kicks in the league before.
09:20But the fact that this, the kicking problem reared its ugly head again.
09:26And I can't say anything to anybody.
09:29I can't stick up for that.
09:31Like that's not a grenade that I can jump on in terms of, all right, I like the coaching.
09:37I like certain things with the regime, Brian Dable, some of his decision-making, play-calling.
09:43That is something that I'm not taking that charge on because it continues to happen over and over.
09:52And big game after big game continues to be lost because of it.
09:57But when you were saying maybe they should go for two there, I was thinking in my head, all right.
10:06But, I mean, I'm thinking that he's going to make that.
10:10But then looking at his face, his face looked a little, I don't know, it looked a little rattled.
10:16But he had a little nervousness in there because that Denver crowd, I used to live in Denver for three years.
10:22I've been to Broncos games like off the Wazoo.
10:25It gets loud there.
10:26And it can mess with you a little bit if you're not built for it, if you're not ready for it.
10:31But I'm also thinking, Jared, all right, defense got this.
10:34This can't be another.
10:36You learn from your mistakes from the Cowboys game.
10:41And the defense has a chance to put this thing to bed and just change the narrative of the season.
10:51Change the narrative of the New York football giants.
10:54You see the seam route.
10:56Again, you see the seam route with the deep end that I think he hit Cortland Sutland on.
11:02Drew Phillips wasn't looking.
11:03I mean, Drew Phillips had a couple of rough plays at the end.
11:07He's someone who's been really up and down.
11:08He made a lot of nice plays, but a lot of penalties also.
11:11On that play, he just really wasn't looking at Sutton.
11:13He was looking downfield.
11:15Sutton catches it right next to him.
11:17Either the next play or a few plays later, Evan Engram runs right around him.
11:21He could have pushed him out of bounds.
11:22Evan Engram runs right around him.
11:26Rough ending for Drew Phillips there.
11:28And like you said, it's that same soft prevent defense that we saw against Dallas.
11:33You know, not sending a lot of pressure.
11:35And everybody knows where the yard is, where Denver has to get to for field goal position.
11:42And they just kind of let them waltz right down the field, turn around and make the catch.
11:47And, you know, you score 40 seconds left.
11:50They have no timeouts.
11:52You have to win the game.
11:53You know, you have to find a way to win the game.
11:55You have to win that game.
11:57And it's like, again, you go in.
12:00Everyone's upset with Shane Bowen.
12:02Shane Bowen has been taking heat.
12:04Defense coordinator Shane Bowen.
12:06He's been taking heat throughout the course of a season.
12:09There's a chance for you to put some of that noise to bed by making some calls to put that thing to bed.
12:17Defense was absolutely gassed.
12:19Yeah.
12:20So whether you got to send some sort of pressure, get the ball out fast, rally, make a tackle, and make them make plays.
12:29I mean, make them push the football down the field or make Bo Nix run around and try and scramble and then hurt you and scramble drill.
12:37But when you're rushing three or four and your defenders, like, they're already gassed as it is.
12:43There were points in the game where you didn't see Brian Burns in the game.
12:47You didn't see Dexter Lawrence.
12:49You were seeing Matabouke in the game.
12:52You were seeing guys that haven't even played that much getting reps and getting out there
12:58because guys were absolutely gassed on defense.
13:02That mile high, that altitude is no joke.
13:05How do they not close that thing out?
13:07The effort at the end was absolutely horrible.
13:10Talking about, you know, guys getting in the game that don't usually play.
13:13For three quarters, I thought Cordell Flott was playing really well.
13:16Oh, he lights out.
13:18He's kind of cemented that cornerback two spot over Deontay Banks.
13:21Then Paulson Adebo goes out and Banks has to come in.
13:24And almost immediately, that's when the Broncos started scoring.
13:27That's when the Broncos started moving the ball.
13:29And they started targeting Banks.
13:31They started targeting Drew Phillips more.
13:33And it was pretty immediate that right when Banks gets in the field, he's almost unplayable.
13:39And for three quarters, this Broncos offense looked like they did last week against the Jets.
13:44It was all swing passes, all screen passes, all little dink and dunk.
13:48Nothing.
13:49They don't trust Bo Nix to throw it over the middle of the field.
13:51They don't trust Bo Nix to really throw down the field.
13:53I think when Dane Belton had that big tackle, I think, in the first or second quarter, when the Broncos went for it on fourth and goal, you could hear them.
14:02They called out the screen pass audibly on defense before.
14:06You know, they had this thing figured out.
14:08And then a couple injuries.
14:10And I think you're right also.
14:12That mile-high altitude, you know, in the first half, they played with juice.
14:19You know, they were hitting hard.
14:20They were talking trash.
14:22They were flying through the ball.
14:23They looked like the quicker, stronger, more aggressive team.
14:26All of a sudden, once they got in the back foot, it was like a boxer who was on the ropes.
14:31They couldn't get off the ropes.
14:32You know, they were dominating the fight for three quarters.
14:35All of a sudden, they got put on the ropes.
14:36And they just couldn't get off the ropes.
14:38And also, you know, Dart, you know, I was going to start this show assuming they won.
14:43It was going to be like the best play in football is that underthrown deep pass.
14:48You know, they get bailed out and they get that pass interference.
14:50And then Dart dives.
14:51And it's like, okay, Dart, you know, Dart made that big mistake.
14:54But now he saved himself.
14:56Now he saved himself.
14:57No.
14:57But, you know, that mistake is when you trust a rookie so much, sometimes you make a rookie mistake.
15:03And, you know, it's not acceptable.
15:05It's not something you can just look, you know, look past.
15:08But it's a rookie mistake.
15:09And, you know, you can't throw that interception.
15:12You know, it allowed the Broncos.
15:14It was a 10-point game.
15:15The Broncos need a touchdown and a field goal.
15:17You put them right in the field goal range.
15:19You know, they didn't have to take any time off the clock.
15:22They didn't have to move the ball down the field.
15:23If you just take that sack and throw the ball away, okay, you punt it.
15:27You know, you pin them deep.
15:28They have to drive the whole field and take time off the clock.
15:31You know, he basically handed them three points.
15:33And that's a killer mistake.
15:35And I think once that happened, you know, the momentum started going.
15:40And, you know, it's a crushing loss.
15:43You know, because they were talking, you know, some smack.
15:47They were riding high.
15:49They were riding high after the Eagles game.
15:51They were riding high for 10 days, you know, before this game.
15:53They were going to ride high into Philadelphia next week.
15:56And, and boy, like that's, I mean, I don't like to use the word choked too often with professional athletes.
16:02But that's a choke.
16:03You know, that's, that's, that's, that's a bonafide choke.
16:05And it's, it's, it's a complete season swing.
16:09You know, you could be three and four going to at Philly and, and three and one in the dart era and, and, and being like, okay.
16:15Like we have a season here now it's two and five going to at Philly.
16:19And, and it's, it's, you know, it's, it's a crushing loss that, that, that, that, you know, you know, better than me as, you know, in NFL locker room, but that's demoralizing.
16:27But yeah, we athletes, we professional athletes, when they get on that plane and they're having their conversations with, within each other, we're going to say we choked.
16:36Like you, there's nothing, you can't be mad at any fan.
16:39This is the accountability thing right now.
16:42And this is part of playing in New York where, you know, the stakes are a lot higher here than they are anywhere else.
16:48And you have to look at this game as a, we choked as a player.
16:52Like, there's nothing else that you can say because you had the game right there.
16:58You were taking the game from the Denver Broncos in their home.
17:05And what's one thing we always talk about, Jared, when the Giants lose, there's a, there's out, I mean, outside of the kicking, there's always that one thing we talk about that killed, that you, that kills the Giants.
17:19Giants versus Giants with the penalties.
17:21They didn't even have that many penalties, eight total penalties, 36 yards.
17:27The Broncos had 12 for a buck 27.
17:30The Giants actually won the penalty situation.
17:34They lost the turnover situation though.
17:36Let's look at Jackson Dart number, Jackson Dart's numbers.
17:4015 for 33, 283, three touchdowns, costly pick.
17:45Bo Nix, 27 for 50, 279 and two touchdowns.
17:50But it's the five for 48 rushing for two touchdowns.
17:57When did you, when was it in the game plan to let Bo Nix run the football?
18:04He had a 21-yard touchdown run.
18:06Bo Nix?
18:07Yeah.
18:08If you're looking at that game and you're on this high, you're riding this high, you're like, yo, this is a top 10 defense.
18:16This defense is everything.
18:17Look at these guys.
18:18Brian Burns, two more sacks on the season.
18:21Man, he might be defensive player of the year.
18:23Then all of a sudden, here comes this sobering crash.
18:28Absolute huge crash.
18:29It's a sobering crash.
18:30And you just know Giants fans are feeling it, man.
18:33I feel for the fan base right now, man.
18:35You know, in any other situation, like the Broncos almost choked themselves because they had taken the lead.
18:45And Dart almost didn't complete any passes in that last drive.
18:49Yeah, that last drive.
18:50It was the roughing the passer.
18:53It was the pass interference.
18:55I mean, that was like 50 yards between the two of them.
18:58You know, like if the Giants just closed out, it's like, wow, the Broncos choked.
19:01They had the game one, and they basically just handed the ball to the Giants on the one-yard line.
19:05And the Sean Payton, unsportsmanlike contact, moved it up to like the half-yard line.
19:10Yeah.
19:10So it's like the Broncos choked, and then the Giants out-choked them.
19:14It was.
19:15Yeah.
19:16Yeah.
19:17It was almost like, oh, you guys want to choke?
19:19Hold my beer.
19:20You know, like.
19:21And like the Giants didn't even make the Broncos work that hard for it.
19:25You know, that last drive, it was like, what, three, four plays?
19:28It was the long pass to Cortland Sutton.
19:31It was a pass to Engram.
19:33And it was a little, you know, run to get to the right side of the field and then a field goal.
19:38And it's fitting that it ended on a field goal because the Giants were a team that can't hit field goals.
19:45You know, they're a team that if you're 40 or more yards out,
19:50they will not try a field goal.
19:51And it's in 2025, like, all around the league, you see it's the year of the kicker, right?
19:56It's the year of the kicker.
19:57These new K footballs, whatever they call them, the K-balls, you know, the new footballs.
20:01Got guys hitting 65, 60.
20:03This is also in Denver.
20:04The high altitude is supposed to make it easier to kick.
20:06You know, it's supposed to be a kicker's dream, right?
20:08It's supposed to be, like, this is where you go to kick if you want to put some good stuff on tape.
20:14And all around the league, it's the year of the kicker.
20:17And for the Giants, like, they've played two games this year where they basically don't have a kicker.
20:22And it's just mind-boggling and it's frustrating and it's unacceptable.
20:28Like, look, that wasn't the only thing that went wrong.
20:31But to me, it is the biggest thing that went wrong.
20:33That sticks out like a sore thumb.
20:37And I was saying it.
20:38Yeah, go ahead.
20:39Go ahead.
20:39It changes everything.
20:41You don't have to go for two after that.
20:44Yeah.
20:45It's six, maybe, you know, potentially seven points because it's the two extra points.
20:49It's a field goal that you didn't even try because it was, like, 54, right?
20:53I mean, 30 out of 32 teams in the league probably try a 54-yard field goal in Denver.
20:58So that's five points, right?
21:00Like, that's five points right there.
21:02And then you went for two on one of the touchdowns to make up for one of the missed extra points.
21:09So that's either one point if you just get the extra point.
21:12And it's two points if you actually get the two-point conversion.
21:14So it's either six or seven points that you left on the board.
21:17And it's – the Broncos didn't earn that.
21:20You know, the Broncos didn't earn those six points.
21:23You know, the Giants didn't even commit a – you know, didn't have to get beat down the field for those six points.
21:27Those are quite literally just six points because of a roster decision, you know, because they went with Jude instead of Young-Way-Koo.
21:33You know, a guy like Young-Way-Koo who's been in the league, who's had success in the league, he got cut.
21:37But he's an NFL kicker.
21:39There's been no evidence that Jude is an NFL-caliber kicker.
21:42And I think everybody thought when Graham Ganot got hurt, okay, Young-Way-Koo will be the kicker.
21:48Young-Way-Koo.
21:49He's kind of like a, you know, fan favorite.
21:51You know, Koo is kind of a funny name to say.
21:53From Ridgewood.
21:54He grew up down the street from up 17, Route 17 from the stadium.
22:00I mean, I thought for a – like when I saw Jude McIntyre and Erica, our producers here, I was like, oh, Jude's kicking.
22:08Oh, Jude's out there.
22:10And what did I say?
22:11I said, oh, he got a fresh haircut.
22:12And we were talking about haircuts before games.
22:15And then, boom, he misses the extra point.
22:17And I'm just like, bro, are you serious?
22:20You know, like that's just frustrating, man.
22:22It's like, you know, honestly, like I got to be, you know, professional when it comes to the Giants.
22:27But this one hurts, bro.
22:29This one hurts.
22:30It hurts.
22:30It shocks the entire fan base.
22:33It shocks the entire franchise.
22:35It shocks the entire city, tri-state area.
22:39And you can tell.
22:40I mean, look how many comments are flying in this chat right now.
22:42I mean, every time I look over, there's five more comments.
22:45And I like to think a lot of people tune into our shows every week.
22:49But right now, I mean, there's more comments right now than the first seven weeks combined.
22:53And the outrage is there.
22:54And, like, usually, and, you know, you can stick up for me here if people are mad at me for jumping on the Giants on this one.
23:01But usually, I'm kind of sticking up for these guys, you know, a little bit because of my relationship with some of the players and the coaches and all.
23:10But the former Giant in me that knows what this franchise stands for, you can't get behind something like that.
23:20You can't get behind a loss like that.
23:22And you saw Dable towards the end throw the headset down.
23:26And I know the chat is kind of going crazy when it comes to, you know, talking about all I saw was Fire Dables and the Fire Bowens and all that.
23:35I didn't really see Kafka's name on there.
23:38But it's almost like, you know, and I've been going back and forth with people with, like, no way they're going to make any move on Shane Bowen.
23:46No way they make a move on Brian Dable because of how well Jackson Dart has been playing.
23:52I don't know what spot to go down.
23:57It's multiple times now in two years where they're at a significant disadvantage because they don't have a competent kicker to put in the game.
24:05Now, the last two times were because of an injury.
24:07Now, and you can maybe argue that either both those times or at least one of those times was foreseeable.
24:11When Graham Gonneau last year went into the game with an injury and then it got injured on the opening kickoff, it's like, okay, like, maybe you could have seen that, but that's, you know, that's tough.
24:20Then the decision this offseason to run it back with an old kicker and Graham Gonneau was obviously risky because he's old and he's injury prone and he got hurt.
24:29So that's another game that this year, you know, you're at a significant disadvantage because you're a kicker.
24:34What's the job of, you know, the coaching staff and the front office?
24:37It's to put your team at the best advantage that you possibly can tactically and, you know, with the roster construction.
24:43That's another game today that the Giants were at disadvantage because of roster construction and because of who they decided to go with that kicker.
24:51And it's, you know, you fool me once, shame on you.
24:54You fool me twice, shame on me.
24:56I mean, three times is, it's season altering.
24:59You know, it's, it's, it, it, it, it's, it changes wins to losses and so many teams, the kicker is like an X factor.
25:07Like having a good kicker is, is, is like you get to midfield, all of a sudden you're in field goal position.
25:12The Giants, it's like, it's like they're offering in a different universe.
25:16They're just, they're just, they're not playing with a kicker.
25:18Like they just don't have a kicker they can use.
25:20There's also another time, Jarrett, it was that home loss to the Jets a couple of years ago.
25:27I don't know if it was Graham, I forgot who that kicker was, but remember they missed that chip shot and then Zach Wilson goes down the field against the prevent defense.
25:38And then the Jets, a Dory Jackson gets the defensive pass interference and then the Jets kick the game winner.
25:44So the kicking thing, man, and you know, it's funny because, and I'm sorry y'all in the chat that we're spending so much time talking about the kicking, but back in, remember back in the day, it used to be like, move over there, kicker, just shut up, go over there.
25:59You don't practice that much.
26:00You got the job, the easiest job in the world, but now kickers are looked at as rock stars because like you said, they're hitting from 60.
26:07Now these guys are a weapon.
26:09These guys like to have a guy like a buddy from, from Dallas.
26:13That is a luxury to have somebody like that.
26:17And for the Giants to not be able to get that right.
26:20It is just, it is unbelievable to continue to watch that.
26:24Let's go a little bit more on the offense.
26:26We've kind of talked about defense.
26:28They were gassed, couldn't get off the field at times, allow Bo Nix to run around and, and, and save his job for a little bit longer.
26:36Uh, Cam Scadaboo, 16 carries, um, 60 yards long of 18 Tyrone Tracy, Jr.
26:43Nine for 46 had that 31 yard rushing touchdown.
26:47We all called game.
26:49And you know what?
26:51That was, I went crazier for that.
26:56Then I did Malik's touchdown against the Cowboys that potentially should have sealed it because of everything Tyrone Tracy has been through.
27:06Early in the season.
27:07And we knowing that the Giants are going to need a two headed monster at running back with Scadaboo and Tracy for him to kind of get that big run.
27:15And it was, you know, perfectly blocked by the offensive line.
27:19And it felt like game over.
27:21They sealed the game from a, a, a 31 yard run and touchdown.
27:26So that was, that was exciting.
27:31But it, it, again, it's something that just, it allowed us, it set us up for failure.
27:37You know, if you, you know, if you want to talk about the offense, um, even with all this stuff that has gone wrong, they had gone wrong.
27:44Right.
27:44On that drive with dart through the interception, it was like, okay.
27:49Like two first downs, it wins the game and it was run, run, and then the pass right through the interception.
27:55And it's, I get it.
27:56You want to run the ball.
27:57You want to run the clock.
27:58But at that point, what was more important was moving the chains than the, you know, the clock.
28:02You needed at least one, maybe two first downs.
28:05I didn't agree with, you know, run on first down, run on second down, right up the gut.
28:09Um, you know, they were being so inventive, you know, for the first three quarters.
28:12Why go so conservative when, when, you know, one or two first downs wins the game.
28:17And, uh, I thought for sure they were going to go back to some sort of screen to scataboo, you know, like, go ahead, go ahead.
28:24I cut you off.
28:25And, you know, and, and, and for as, as, as much as the defense, you know, folded or, you know, gave 33 points in the fourth quarter, the giants just needed to, you know, one or two more first downs wins the game.
28:35I think they had two chances to do that.
28:36And, and, and they didn't.
28:38And, um, you know, that's, that's frustrating.
28:40And, and for, as well as dark played, you know, he, he made the biggest mistake of his, of his young career so far.
28:46And, um, we'll see how he bounces back.
28:48You know, he's, he's a young guy.
28:49He's, he's got a good attitude.
28:51He's confident in himself.
28:52Um, but that was a backbreaking mistake that, that couldn't happen.
28:55And, um, it was, it was a major difference in the game.
29:00Uh, and here's something, here's a stat.
29:02The giants only had four guys catch a pass, two were tight ends, one wide receiver caught a pass.
29:09And that's Wanda Robinson, six catches, 95 yards.
29:13Uh, he had that drop at the end that, that kind of Rick.
29:16Well, I guess you can't call it a drop because it ricocheted into, uh, Theo Johnson's hands.
29:20And then even then during the live stream, you hear me talking like, oh my gosh, the football gods are on the giant side, Jared.
29:29And I'll, I'll go back to the receiver situation.
29:31But if you were to tell me that the giants were the least penalized team had a, had a, a tipped ball go their way for a touchdown and we're up 19 skunk or 19 zero and lost that game.
29:47I would have, I, I, I mean, you wouldn't have been my friend no more because I would have been like, you're lying to me in front of my face, right?
29:53My front of my face.
29:54But the way this offense is constructed and I really felt like they were going to go make a, if they would have won this game, they were going to go make a move to go bring a receiver into, into the mix and get him another weapon belly who the fan base absolutely loves.
30:16And we think is probably the most underrated or underappreciated guy on the team.
30:22Three for 88, huge 44 yard touchdown Theo three for 66, 41 yard touchdown.
30:29And then scat had the three for 34, that 13 yard screen pass for a touchdown.
30:33No other receiver touched the football.
30:35Jackson dart missed, uh, he missed Jalen Hyatt, you know, once or twice on some, on some throw up balls, but there's no, there's, there's no play structure or route.
30:46Play call structure for any receiver outside of Wondell Robinson.
30:51But this loss, I believe changes what they do or how aggressive they are when it comes to going after a playmaking receiver.
31:00Absolutely.
31:01You know, you win this game, like you should nine, nine out of a hundred times.
31:04And it's your three and four, your three and one in the Jackson dart era.
31:09Um, you're looking at this and like, like, holy moly, like the NFC is kind of wide open.
31:15Like the Philly won again today, but they didn't look great against the Vikings.
31:18They, they pulled away late, but they did not look great.
31:19And their team that you just throttled, um, the commanders are three and four and Jaden Daniels has a hurt hamstring.
31:26And the Cowboys are a team that you believe you should have beaten and are right there with you.
31:31Um, so you would change everything.
31:33You win this game and it's like, okay, the NFC East is wide open and you're about to go play Philly and make it really wide open.
31:40Um, you win this game and you're like, okay, like let's go make a move for Jalen Waddell or, or a Chris Olave or Rashid Shahid or a Jacoby Myers.
31:51You know, let's go, let's go, go for this thing.
31:54Now you're two and five, you know, going at Philly and it's, it's a season defining loss.
31:58It's absolutely a season defining loss.
31:59It's a season changing loss.
32:01Um, you know, for, for coming off that Philly game, it's a long week.
32:06Cause it was a Thursday night game and it's a long week to have those good vibes.
32:09Like we haven't had 10 days of good giants vibes like that in, in at least two years.
32:13Um, a lot of good vibes this week.
32:15There's trash talk between the giants and the Broncos.
32:17And I'm saying like, well, it's, I thought it was a little too much.
32:20I said like, let's calm it down a little bit.
32:21You're still two and four.
32:22Like, let's just, let's just win.
32:24And then for three quarters, they were bullying the Broncos.
32:26They went to Denver and they were bullying them.
32:29You know, they were hitting harder.
32:30There were some hard hits.
32:31There were some, there were there.
32:32Yeah.
32:32Eric Hay, Mua Sal and, and Carter had that play where he blew a play up in the backfield.
32:37He was down for a second and then they started chirping and he got up and he just started chirping and then went to the backfield.
32:43And, and, um, Juan Dale was talking a little smack to the sideline.
32:46Like everybody was getting in on it.
32:47And it's like, holy, like the giants are bullying, uh, a good, uh, the playoff team from last year.
32:53And it's like, like, well, what, what do we have on our hands here with this season with Jackson dart, with, with this whole, you know, with this defense is flying around all of a sudden with this pass rush, with this secondary with flop.
33:03That's, you know, coming up and playing well, playing well.
33:06And, um, you know, it's, it was like the anatomy of a collapse.
33:10So many things had to go wrong.
33:12And what stings the most is so many things had to go wrong, but then the Broncos tried to hand it back.
33:17You know, they, they, they, the giants, they, they, they, they commit, they commit those two penalties and, you know, a pass interference that was like, he was not going to catch that pass.
33:25Like, like it was like, it was, it was that Bo Collins, I think, um, like he was not going to catch that pass, but that, you know, that's a, an under, an underthrown deep ball that it was, that was very lucky.
33:37And it's like, okay, all this stuff has gone wrong, but the giants are getting this big break.
33:41Like things are coming up, you know, big blue, like that Theo Johnson touchdown, that's a break.
33:46Like things are coming up big blue, this pass interference penalty, that's a break.
33:50Things are coming up for you.
33:51Like it's a sign of good, good teams.
33:52When you get those breaks, like three or four plays later, they're, they're kicking a game winning field goal.
33:57And it's, um, yeah, no, I mean, there's no words to describe, you know, how deflating that is.
34:03And, um, you know, after every mistake, it's like, all right, now they finally like did enough to win.
34:07Now they did enough to win and they didn't.
34:09And, um, you know, there's so many things that we can point to, but, um, the reality is, is you're two and five.
34:15Um, you know, it's, it's nice.
34:17And, and, you know, you win this game, you best believe they were going to talk some smack, you know, Jackson dart about, you know, they were talking about his chain and his dancing.
34:24And, and Nick Benito was the one who taught, who called the fan base, uh, irrelevant, delusional.
34:32Like he was running away from Andrew Thomas.
34:34He was, you know, all year he had barely lined up on the, um, on the left side.
34:38On the left side.
34:39Yep.
34:40Yep.
34:40He was always on the left side and it's a luminor because he didn't want to go up against Andrew Thomas.
34:44Yep.
34:45Um, you, you best believe there would have been some trash talk with the fans and with players.
34:50Now, now you got to sit back and take your licks.
34:52You know, you got to sit back and take your criticism because they, they, they collapsed.
34:56Got to eat it, bro.
34:57I was talking all types of trash from the live stream.
34:59I hope Sean Payton and them don't see that.
35:02They, they're going to use this as bullet, not even bulletin board material.
35:05Just, they're going to put it on the highlight tape to tell everybody out there to shut up.
35:10You know, like, it's just, it's just one of those things, man.
35:13I am, I don't know how to feel, bro.
35:15Like I've been through some losses and stuff as, you know, giant sky and MC and all, but I think this is, this is the most deflating loss, Jared.
35:26And you should have, you should have like, I was, the chat was on fire during the watch party and everybody like just the optimism, even when, you know, the roller, but the, the vibes are super high up 19.0.
35:40But then when it started to unravel a little bit, it's like, you're trying to tell the fan base, Hey, it's like when my son, my two-year-old starts crying and whining.
35:50And I'm like, I know, you know how to use your words, chest out, ask that app for the, ask that app for the bottle instead of crying and all that.
35:58That's kind of how I was to the fan base.
36:00Like, Hey, Hey, chest out when you're telling the defense to get a stop.
36:04But it was like, it was like people knew already.
36:08It was like, we've seen this before and then it all happened.
36:12And I just, I'm at a loss for words.
36:16What stings the most is that this was such a momentum game, right?
36:19Because such a momentum game, two in a row.
36:22Just, you know, in terms of like your, your feelings about this team, you're coming off such, you know, a cathartic win over the Eagles in prime time on Thursday.
36:31And then for three quarters, it's like, okay, that wasn't a mirage.
36:34That wasn't like a one game blip.
36:36This team is good with Jackson dart.
36:38We're about to be three in one.
36:40You know, this team is, is one that we could actually seriously talk about making a run at the playoffs or at least, you know, playing meaningful, meaningful games in December.
36:47And then it's such a rush in the other direction to where it's now like, okay, like we're not gonna do anything this season.
36:55It's nice.
36:55It'll be nice to see Jackson dart develop.
36:57But now all that hope, you know, there was so much hope building for, for, for three quarters because it was built off of last week.
37:05And then it just comes rushing all, you know, entirely in the other direction.
37:08And it's, um, it's not just a normal loss.
37:12It's a loss that, you know, it was such a seesaw loss, you know, they win this game.
37:17They're, they're riding as high as you possibly can.
37:19It's two wins in a row.
37:21It's, it's, it's three wins out of, out of four.
37:24Um, three of those wins coming against playoff teams from last year, chargers, um, eagles.
37:29And it would have been today that the Broncos and another loss against the saints where you're really kicking yourself for how you played.
37:35Um, and it's, they would have been on, you know, cloud nine.
37:40And now they're, they're raging, you know, they're raging on Twitter.
37:43They're raging about day ball.
37:44They're raging about the kicker.
37:45They're raging about the defense.
37:47They're raging about Shane Bowen.
37:48And it's, um, yeah, it's, it's, it's, it's such a seesaw loss.
37:52And it, you know, you, you take this loss, you take the Dallas loss, you know, two losses that are almost hard to believe.
37:57And it's, you know, it's the NFL.
37:59Like every team has close losses, but not every team has losses from the jaws of victory.
38:05Like those are two losses that they snatched from the jaws of victory.
38:10So you, so my pushback to Benito's tweet would be like, you know what?
38:14They're not that, you know what?
38:17They're, they're not delusional.
38:19Yeah.
38:19I think the fan base knows and understands what this team is.
38:25And I, the state of the franchise right now, and they're going to hold on to and hype up any positive that they can get, which is why everyone's so excited about the, you know, the Jackson dart.
38:38Why we were so excited about Russell Wilson coming in because it was like, oh, shoot, good vibes.
38:44There's a leader at the quarterback position.
38:46Look how confident everybody is.
38:49And then that, and then that high drops Jackson dart comes in.
38:53Oh, shoot.
38:54This rookie is giving us everything.
38:55Look at the two white boys.
38:56Oh my gosh.
38:57Ah, and then you, and then the drop.
39:00So it's like the fan base is just trying to, trying to, it's like, they're just trying to hold on to something.
39:06Hold on and hype up the little piece of good that they get until they have to feel the sting again.
39:13And I cannot wait until that switches because it's like the city is going to be on fire for good.
39:21I brought up the Shawshank, a couple of Shawshank redemption quote a couple of times.
39:24It was, it was a couple of, of weeks ago.
39:27I think when Jackson dart made his first start and, um, I said, you know, red in Shawshank redemption says hope is, you know, a good thing.
39:34Maybe the best of things.
39:34And the Jackson dart, you know, the start of that era was, was hope.
39:38Um, earlier in the movie, red says, um, you know, hope is a bad thing.
39:43Hope is a dangerous thing.
39:45It could drive a man mad.
39:47And that is what I think giants fans are, are experiencing right now.
39:51They're, they're going mad because like you said, with that delusional quote, I don't think, you know, giants fans are not that delusional.
39:57They're pretty, you know, they're pretty critical of this team.
39:59You know, they're, they're, they're not like some bandwagon fans.
40:02There's some, they're, they're pretty critical of this team.
40:04And, um, I think even, you know, riding after that Eagles game, it's like, okay, like I'm, I'm almost making myself vulnerable.
40:11Like I'm, I'm giving myself, I'm putting myself out there and putting my hope in this team.
40:15And for three quarters, the giants completely backed up that hope.
40:19You know, they completely gave you, um, a reason that that hope was legitimate and that like, you weren't delusional and that you weren't crazy.
40:26And that it wasn't like this, this shot in the dark and that, you know, you're allowed to feel good about this team.
40:33And you're allowed to like, like actually want to watch the giants on Sunday and you're allowed to like have fun.
40:38And then it just, it, it, it, all these, you know, old negative emotions come rushing back.
40:44So yeah, it's, it's a seesaw loss and it's a season defining loss.
40:47And it's, it's one, you know, it's, it's, it's one when they, when they tell a story of the season, this is, this is probably where you start.
40:55We're going to end this thing on a positive Jared.
40:57I've been a starter, gave me some cool stuff to give away, gave away, uh, about what five or six starter shirts throughout the course of the game.
41:05We gave away the starter hoodie to, uh, who was that Doug, Doug or Doug, Doug Friedman.
41:12And now we told everyone throughout the chat, if you hung on, you watched the live stream, that we'll call out the name of the people who have been very active in the chat.
41:22So this winner goes to, who was it go to Erica Maximus 13, 18, I'm going to give you this starter jacket.
41:30It's got the a hundred seasons, uh, logo in the back established 1925.
41:36Uh, thank you guys for watching the live stream.
41:39Thank you for watching the post came live stream.
41:44We feel the way you feel New York.
41:46This one is going to hurt.
41:48It's going to sting.
41:49Hopefully they can go into Philly and beat the Eagles on Sunday to get the vibes going again, because if they don't, it's, it's really going to suck to lose back-to-back games.
42:01Um, especially with all the hype and all the excitement that was been surrounding this team.
42:08Um, look for the positives if you can try to find it, look for the positives, stay with your team, stay with your franchise.
42:16That's basically what I can, um, that's what I can give you right now.
42:20Uh, Jarrett, appreciate you hopping on, man.
42:23Um, you being the, the voice of reason because man, my Broncos fans that were watching the chat, they're going to let me, that were watching the live stream.
42:33They're going to let me have it when I get my phone.
42:35I got to eat it.
42:36I'm going to eat it.
42:36Head up, chest out.
42:38Like I tell my, like I tell my kid, head up, chest out.
42:43I'm a cry in the Uber on the way home.
42:44All right.
42:45Uh, for Brandon London, he's Jared Schwartz.
42:48Appreciate you guys for watching another episode of the blue rash post game show.
