00:00What is worth a stream right now?
00:01Well, I think that the big binge watch of the week on Netflix is a new show called The Hunting Wives.
00:06It's a murder mystery.
00:07It's got a lot of sexiness.
00:08It's got a lot of steaminess, a little bit of silliness.
00:11There's some satire.
00:12This one is not set in a coastal resort, but rather in East Texas.
00:16And we follow Brittany Snow's character, who's an uptight Boston-back gal,
00:21who is transported to this very conservative world.
00:25And then she falls in with these ladies who are basically NRA moms.
00:28There's a murder.
00:29There's affairs.
00:31But I think the standout of this series is Malin Ackerman as the lead kind of queen bee of the group, Margot.
00:38She's literally introduced undressing herself in front of Brittany Snow.
00:42Tata's out.
00:43Doesn't care.
00:44Flirts with everyone, including Brittany Snow.
00:47It's a fun, wild ride.
00:49And where can we watch this?
00:50This is a Netflix show.
00:51You just like those tawdry murder mysteries.
00:53This is the one for you this week.
00:55There is a skip it, and sadly it is Sandman Season 2 Part 2.
00:58For reasons that are not just the show's fault, it's based on Neil Gaiman's once-beloved,
01:04maybe still-beloved, graphic novel series.
01:07The first season when it came out, a lot of people loved it because it felt like a very
01:10faithful adaptation.
01:11The show was occasionally messy, as Neil Gaiman's stories are, but what was messier was Neil Gaiman's
01:17real-life story.
01:18There were some serious allegations that were dropped in between the two seasons.
01:21They were very disturbing to the point where his fandom, which had been raised on his work
01:26that talked against sexual assault and violence, were horrified and have distanced themselves.
01:32It's one of those things where you just don't want to deal with.
01:34You don't want that kind of storm cloud of sadness over your weekend binge.
01:39Stick to Naked Malon.
01:40Stick to Naked Malon.
01:41All right, so what else are we streaming?
01:42Washington Black on Hulu?
01:44Washington Black on Hulu is this really charming series.
01:46It gives a throwback to when you're a kid watching Hercules or Xena or some of those
01:52steam monkey shows.
01:53It takes place in the 1800s.
01:55It opens in Nova Scotia, which is apparently the end of the Underground Railroad.
01:59And you see this escaped black slave, Washington Black, and he wants to be an inventor.
02:04He's a brilliant, genius kid.
02:05But his backstory is a little fraught.
02:08He was raised in Barbados.
02:09He was accidentally responsible for someone's death or not.
02:12And so he's being hunted.
02:14He's falling in love.
02:15You pivot back to his childhood, where this very kind abolitionist inventor takes him
02:20under his wing.
02:21It's got Sterling K. Brown.
02:22Oh, no, that is that.
02:23Sterling K. Brown is not only starring in this, but he has an EP on it.
02:27So it's a story that he cares about, and he shows up.
02:30The movie that everyone will be watching at home, I think, is going to be Happy Gilmore 2.
02:34Because obviously it's the return of the Sandman and one of his iconic roles.
02:37And the cast is star-studded.
02:40Like, Bad Bunny is his caddy.
02:42Margaret Qualley in a bit role.
02:44Travis Kelsey plays an announcer.
02:46People that you would recognize from the original film, like Christopher McDonald and Julie
02:49Bowen, are both back.
02:50The plot of this story is that his daughter, Vienna, who's played by his real-life daughter,
02:55Sonny Sandler, wants to go to dance school, but they don't have the money.
02:58So he goes back into the golf circuit to try to make money to help his daughter achieve
03:02her dreams.
03:03Oh, that's cute.
