00:00Orange, you glad she's back?
00:02Taylor Swift's highly anticipated 12th studio album,
00:05The Life of a Showgirl, is officially on its way.
00:11The Grammy winner famously picks a signature color
00:13for each of her musical eras, purple for Speak Now,
00:16pink for Lover, red for, well, red, and so on.
00:20And from the look of things, Showgirl
00:22will be all about orange.
00:24It's the shade of the glittery vinyls
00:25containing Swift's new music, her refreshed website layout,
00:29and most importantly, all 12, yes, 12,
00:32eras tour costumes her team shared on Instagram hours
00:35before the album's title reveal.
00:37Fans of Swift's stage costumes will
00:39remember the orange versions of her Lover bodysuit by Versace
00:43and her 1989 skirt sets and surprise song
00:45dresses from Roberto Cavalli.
00:48And while the marigold Etro gown she
00:49wore for the Evermore section of the show
00:51was phased out over the course of the tour,
00:53Swift introduced a slew of new costumes in sunset shades
00:57when she kicked off her European shows,
00:59and notably wore her golden orange 1989 set for all three
01:03of her final performances in Vancouver.
01:06When one door closes, it seems another orange door opens.
01:10The superstars embraced orange in other ways lately, too.
01:13While her love of a red lip surely isn't going anywhere,
01:16she's been mixing it up over the past year
01:18by wearing NARS's Morocco shade, a warm cinnamon-slash-terracotta,
01:22more and more frequently.
01:24Of course, all this begs the question,
01:27what does the color orange tell us
01:28about the life of a showgirl?
01:30The hot hues associated with optimism, warmth, energy,
01:33and enthusiasm.
01:34And right now, Taylor Swift has every reason to be smiling.
01:38She recently acquired her master recordings
01:40after a years-long battle.
01:41Her relationship with Travis Kelsey
01:43seems stronger than ever.
01:44And her heiress tour smashed record after record
01:46and made her a billionaire.
01:48And then there's her new Spotify playlist,
01:50released in tandem with her new album's title,
01:52which is comprised entirely of past songs
01:54she worked on with Swedish pop super producer Max Martin
01:57and suggests he was a key collaborator on Showgirl.
02:01Given that Martin and Swift brought us iconic bops
02:03like Blank Space, Shake It Off, 22, and I Knew You Were Trouble,
02:07and the peppy color palette she's picked for her upcoming album,
02:11it's probably safe to say we're in for a pop masterpiece.
