00:00I'm going to donate $100,000 to the Boys and Girls Club.
00:04Everybody gives us their 45 seconds.
00:05If someone goes over, we take away $1,000 a second every time they go over.
00:10Is this the Emmys or Squid Games?
00:13Sure, no one likes it when an award show runs long,
00:15but this year's Emmys host, Nate Bargetsy,
00:18revealed a devious plan to keep the three-hour telecast tight.
00:21On Jimmy Kimmel Live, the comedian said he'll deduct a chunk of money
00:25from a donation that he's planning to give to a charity.
00:27For every second, an acceptance speech goes over the 45-second mark.
00:33This drew uncomfortable groans from the studio audience
00:35before Nate explained that money will be added to the pot
00:38if an Emmy-winner speech goes under the mark.
00:41If this clever bit is real,
00:43TV viewers will be watching the thank yous with a stopwatch in hand.
00:46Here's what else you can expect to see at Sunday night's broadcast.
00:50The Apple TV series Severance leads the drama pack with 27 nominations,
00:54so it'll be a big night for your favorite innies and outies.
00:58HBO's The White Lotus Season 3 follows close behind with 23 nominations.
01:03However, you won't be seeing Patrick Schwarzenegger,
01:06aka Saxon Ratliff, accepting an award on stage.
01:10Despite a star-turning performance,
01:12he was considered one of the big snubs when nominations were announced in July.
01:15In the comedy categories, Apple TV's freshman series The Studio racked up 23 noms,
01:21followed far behind by HBO's Hacks with 14 and FX's The Bear with 13,
01:26signaling it might be an upset year for these past Emmy-winning comedies.
01:30TV viewers can also expect to see more hijinks from the first-time Emmys host,
01:34although it's far from his first rodeo.
01:36Nate Bargetzi charmed SNL audiences with his wholesome brand of humor
01:40as host in October 2023.
01:42My name is Nate Bargetzi, I'm from Tennessee.
01:45I, uh, yeah, I'm also, I'm from the 1900s.
01:51The gig went so well, Nate was invited back to host in October 2024.
01:55He's also got multiple stand-up specials under his belt,
01:58two on Netflix, one on Prime Video,
02:01and this year, a best-selling book titled Big Dumb Eyes.
02:05And now he'll be helming TV's biggest night.
