00:07Jimmy Kimmel gave a play-by-play of how he found out his late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live,

00:12was being pulled off the air indefinitely.

00:15The comedian shared his story on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

00:18and described the ordeal as an emotional rollercoaster.

00:22So I go into the bathroom and I'm on the phone with the ABC executives

00:27and they say, listen, we want to take the temperature down.

00:31We're concerned about what you're going to say tonight.

00:33And we decided that the best route is to take the show off the air.

00:39When the audience began to boo loudly, Kimmel quipped,

00:42that's what I said. I started booing.

00:45He said he told the ABC execs that he didn't think pulling the show was a good idea.

00:49However, they voted and Kimmel lost.

00:53The late-night talk show host said he returned to his office

00:55and told his executive producers that the show was being suspended

00:58and he stayed at the show for a couple of hours before heading home.

01:02I thought that's it. It's over. It is over.

01:07and he couldn't give any statements but had to make and take a lot of phone calls.
