00:00hello everyone welcome to Munirashan Academy in this video I will be explaining what is
00:10regular polygon and what is an irregular polygon so we know what is a polygon any
00:16close figure is known as a polygon which has at least three sites okay now when we
00:25talk about regular polygon any polygon where all the angles are equal and all
00:34the sides are equal means it is equi angular and equilateral equi means equal
00:49angular means angles so equal angles and equilateral means equal sides so if we
00:57have a triangle ABC which if I say is an equilateral triangle so an equilateral
01:05triangle has all three sides equal and all three angles are also equal so an
01:12equilateral triangle is a regular polygon if I say I have a right angle triangle
01:19then in a right angle triangle all three sides are not equal and also all three
01:27angles are not also equal so since a right angle triangle does not have equal
01:34angles and equal sides it is called as irregular polygon let us see one more
01:41figure suppose I have a square so we know that all sides of the square are also equal and all
01:52the angles of the square are 90 degree right so a square is also equi angular and equilateral so
02:02square is a regular polygon whereas if I say we have a rectangle a rectangle is having all four
02:10angles 90 degrees so it is equi angular but the sides are not equal okay rectangles have
02:19only the opposite sides are equal for a rectangle so it is not equilateral since
02:24rectangle is not equilateral the sides are not equal it is called as irregular polygon so
02:33when we talk about a regular polygon any polygon in which all the angles are equal and all the
02:40sides are equal it will be known as regular polygon else it is an irregular polygon thank you very much
