00:00Hello everyone welcome to Munira Shine Academy we are starting with a new chapter that is
00:10understanding quadrilaterals to understand all about quadrilaterals let us first start
00:15with what is a curve since a quadrilateral is made up of curve okay so when we talk about
00:23curve it is a line any line which is either straight or bended so if I say a circle so it
00:34is a curve if I say this it is a curve if I say a quadrilateral it is also a curve now a curve can
00:44be simple or it cannot be a simple curve now when we talk about a simple curve what is a simple curve
00:52curve so any curve which have lines which are not crossing each other it becomes a simple curve
01:03for example these are curves where lines are not crossing each other so these becomes a simple
01:09curve right so circle is a simple curve quadrilateral is also a simple curve now if I have this figure
01:16here we can see that lines are crossing each other so this is not a simple curve now coming to a open
01:26curve or a closed curve now what is a closed curve so if I talk about a closed curve as we can see from
01:38the word itself close means a figure which is completely closed so any figure where the ends are not open
01:46it is a closed curve so here we have got a polygon or a figure where there are no open ends it is
01:56completely closed similarly if I talk about a quadrilateral this is also a closed curve now if I have a figure
02:06here suppose see this is a curve but this is an open curve why because it is open from one side right if I have a diagram
02:18like suppose you so this is also an open curve so any curve whose ends are not open they are completely closed
02:29from all the sides is an closed curve if the ends are open from either of the sides it becomes an open curve
02:37so I hope it is clear what is a curve what is open curve what is closed curve what is a simple curve and
02:44what is not a simple curve in the next video I will explain you what is a polygon thank you very much
