27:49Hi, I'm Julie Clark, the creator of Baby Einstein. I'd like to take the next few minutes telling you a little bit about the video and showing you how you can use it with your child.
28:17Baby Einstein is designed to stimulate particular areas of your baby's brain.
28:30The visuals are based on what we know babies like to see. Simple patterns, primary colored toys, faces, and recognizable real-world objects.
28:39Use the video like a board book of moving pictures. Point to objects and name them for your child.
28:45Hold your baby on your lap as you watch the tape together. Laugh, dance, and have fun.
28:50Such personal interaction is incredibly important to a baby's development and one of the real rewards of parenting.
28:58Dolls. Trace.
29:00The use of foreign languages on the Baby Einstein soundtrack adds another dimension of stimulation and fun.
29:06The nursery rhymes, alphabets, and counting sequences are not intended to teach your baby to speak foreign language.
29:12What the soundtrack will do is stimulate portions of your baby's brain that are largely ignored.
29:18Research indicates that babies are born with the ability to respond to and to produce any sound.
29:24By six months of age, this ability begins to fade as a child hears only one language.
29:29And by 12 months, the ability is gone. So it's pretty simple.
29:33Baby Einstein is a unique means of stimulating your child's brain during the critical first years of life.
29:39The natural window of opportunity for the type of stimulation provided by Baby Einstein is from 1 to 12 months of age.
29:47Babies love and learn from repetition, so view the video with your child often.
29:52Don't expect your baby to sit through the entire program every time you play it.
29:57Work with his or her mood and attention span.
30:00Between 12 and 18 months, you can use Baby Einstein to build your child's vocabulary by naming images as they appear on the screen.
30:09Take some time to read over the insert that was included with the videotape.
30:13It provides additional background information and a list of the audio passages in the order in which they are heard.
30:20I hope you and your child enjoy Baby Einstein.
30:23Your baby will certainly benefit from its unique combination of visual and auditory stimulation.
