00:00They say New York is a rat race, but this is ridiculous.
00:04Welcome to Weird But True, your express train to the wildest stories from The Post.
00:08This week it's a rodent rumble.
00:10A pair of karate chopping rats on a Brooklyn subway platform had everyone talking on Reddit.
00:16The crazy brawl drew comparison to the Jets and the Sharks,
00:24the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and even Keanu Reeves.
00:31Whoa, they know Kung Fu.
00:38Thankfully, one Redditor who works with rats, presumably on Wall Street, explained there's
00:42a good chance they're actually playing.
00:44If they were fighting, they'd be using their incredibly sharp teeth and there would be missing
00:48eyeballs and entrails hanging out of their abdomens.
00:51Thanks for that visual.
00:52Experts say if it's the real deal, you might hear loud shrieks, hisses, or squeaks.
00:57Rats are known to gently nip, bite, and wrestle as a form of social bonding.
01:01Sounds like a fun Friday night.
01:03Either way, it's safe to say these NYC ninjas have entered the hall of fame of subway rats,
01:08joining our city's beloved pizza rats.
01:10At this point, are you even a true New Yorker if you haven't witnessed first hand a rat taking
01:25home a slice of cheese?
01:27Or how about a doughnut?
01:29Or a cup of coffee?
01:36My personal favourite, this subway rat working the pole.
01:40Hey, it's a living after all.
01:42While the Big Apple is clearly fighting with a rat problem, we're not alone.
01:45In 2022, a viral video from Singapore, which is supposedly the world's cleanest city, caught
01:51two rats boxing.
01:53You won't find this fight on Pay Per View.
01:55At the end of the day, we could all learn a thing or two about tenderness from the pair
01:59of romantic rats spotted canoodling inside a restaurant earlier this year.
02:04As for the Greek eatery in question, it's been mercifully closed since May, so it looks like
02:08it's pizza again for dinner.
