00:07People are accusing Hassan Piker of using a shock collar on his dog Kaya in order to keep her in the shot.
00:13The moment in question played out during a Twitch live stream on Tuesday.
00:16But it is emblematic of all of America's much more consequential violence, okay?

00:53Social media immediately went into a frenzy over the speculation about the extremely influential streamer,
00:58who is no stranger to stirring up hate, including calling Israelis inbred,
01:03saying it doesn't matter if rapes happen to women during Hamas' October 7, 2023 attack on Israel,
01:09and that America deserved the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.
01:13But it was his moment with Kaya that sparked so much outrage that Piker's name became a trending search topic.

01:27OMG, I'm physically ill.
01:29Put a shock collar on Hassan, wrote another.
01:32But it wasn't just social media users who were upset.
01:35Two of Piker's fellow influencers were also quick to condemn him.
01:38A streamer known as TechTone posted,
01:40I always wondered how Hassan keeps his dog behind him all stream.
01:44It's because he's been using a shock collar on a setting so high that his dog f***ing screams when he uses it.
01:50Using your dog as a prop to seem more friendly, relatable, and down to earth,
01:55when in reality the dog isn't sitting there of his own volition, but stays there out of fear.

02:03YouTuber Ethan Klein also went after Piker in his Instagram stories, writing,
02:07This is deeply psychotic behavior, exerting this level of control over a meek animal,
02:12and then turning his anger on her for crying out in pain.

02:17Klein went on to post this pic comparing a close-up image of a collar around a dog resembling Kaya's neck,
02:23with a photo of a shock collar for sale,
02:25and an old resurfaced clip in which he says Hassan admitted to owning a shock collar.

02:54Tech Tone also posted a resurfaced clip,
02:57this one in which Piker appears to brush off an accusation that his dog's collar was too tight.
