00:00We are here with Joel Kim Booster from Bravo's Love Hotel, host extraordinaire.
00:05Thank you so much.
00:06The show is so good, and I'm so excited to have you here.
00:09And, you know, how did Bravo approach you with this opportunity?
00:13You know, I think for me, I was looking for sort of like a new experience.
00:19I've done a lot in this industry.
00:21I've, you know, written, I've acted, I've produced.
00:24And so this was sort of just like the next frontier for me as I, you know,
00:28I've had a really good relationship with Andy and the network for a while.
00:32I've been a guest on Watch What Happens Live many times.
00:33They know I'm a super fan.
00:35And this sort of came about, and, you know, I had, you know, some time.
00:40And I was like, why not?
00:41Let's just dive in and, you know, stop watching from the couch and be, you know, dive headfirst into it.
00:47Yeah, be a part of it.
00:49Yeah.
00:49Well, you know, as a Bravo super fan, what was your reaction when you found out the four housewives that would be joining you?
00:55I mean, pretty iconic, honestly.
00:57Like, uh, Shannon's not an OG, but might as well be.
01:01You know, they're all vets.
01:03They've all been, you know, on TV for the better part of a decade.
01:06So it was really exciting.
01:07It was really, really exciting.
01:08Yeah.
01:09And I do want to talk about Shannon, because in one of the first episodes, you guys had a really touching moment.
01:13You know, you really talked her up.
01:15She was upset.
01:16You know, she's crying.
01:17I'm no prize.
01:18I want to stop you really quick, Shannon, and I'm going to hold your hand while I say this.
01:21Wait, now am I going to start to cry?
01:23I hope not.
01:24It is all good things.
01:25You just said when you started that sentence, I know I am no prize.
01:30And yes, you've made mistakes.
01:32Everybody's made mistakes.
01:33But you've bounced back, and you are a f***ing prize.
01:36Okay?
01:36You are a prize.
01:37What changed between the two of you?
01:39Because I know that there was that post.
01:41Yes.
01:41And how are things now?
01:42Well, to be honest, like, nothing really changed.
01:46All that stuff happened after the cameras were down.
01:49And I would say, like, you know, I think people, you know, that's a question I've gotten before,
01:54and they're, like, looking for signs or clues for it.
01:57And you're not going to see it, because it just, it was all, you know, after we wrapped.
02:00And where we are at now, I think, like, quite honestly, I don't think either of us really
02:05wants to, like, re-litigate or revisit that moment.
02:08And I think we're fine.
02:11You know, I don't know if we're ever going to be, like, super best friends close or anything
02:15like that.
02:15But I can certainly appreciate the work she's done on the show.
02:17I think she's great on the show.
02:19And yeah.
02:20Yeah, totally.
02:20And, you know, in this, or I guess yesterday's episode, it ended on a cliffhanger between
02:26Earl and Shannon, with Earl upset that Shannon didn't, you know, check in on him more with
02:30the hurricane in his house.
02:32When you were texting me last night, it was just making landfall on Florida.
02:36The video of you dancing on the table and singing?
02:39Yeah.
02:39You told me it wasn't going to hit your house.
02:42I said it wasn't going to make landfall there, which means either hurricane was not going
02:47to hit St. Pete.
02:48Okay.
02:48I apologize.
02:49I apologize I wasn't there for you.
02:51That's not good enough.
02:52You know, whose side were you on in that situation and why?
02:56You know, it's hard to take sides in, on the show, you know, because I am obviously very
03:01protective of everyone.
03:02I wanted everyone to have a positive experience on that show.
03:04I will say, like, I think, like, initially when we were filming, it seemed pretty cut and
03:11dry that it was, I was definitely a little more team Shannon, I think, in the moment.
03:15I think watching some of this stuff back, I think it was a more complicated scenario.
03:19But then I think any of us really understood in the moment.
03:21So, yeah, I think, like, that's the most fun part about watching the show back as the host
03:27is that, you know, I felt like I was, you know, involved in everything.
03:30And then you watch back and I was like, wow, there was so much going on.
03:34Like, it was like, you know, coming home and watching the nanny cam after, you know, like,
03:38seeing what your kids were up to while you were away.
03:41I think of all the couples on the show go through the biggest sort of arc and journey.
03:45And it's going to be really, I think, um, the ending is really exciting for a lot of
03:50reasons, finales.
03:51And I think people are going to be really invested, I think, to see what happens with
03:54that couple, especially.
03:55Yes, I know I am.
03:57Well, moving on to Luanne.
03:59At this point in time, she's very much so into James.
04:01Do you think she's ignoring some red flags with him?
04:04Put a shirt on.
04:05Really? You want me to put a shirt on?
04:06Definitely.
04:06Really?
04:07Yeah, it doesn't look chic.
04:09Get out of here.
04:09Go and get a shirt on for guys.
04:11Jeez, I'm in trouble.
04:12Um, I mean, would she be a housewife if she didn't?
04:15You know, that's the bigger question, I think.
04:18Um, but yeah, I think, like, for her, like, James checks a lot of boxes for Luanne in a way
04:25that, like, initially I don't think any of us really, I think we went in thinking Luanne wanted
04:29a certain kind of guy.
04:30And I think James surprised not only Luanne, but all of us a little bit in how much he
04:36sort of complimented her in a lot of ways.
04:38And that's another, um, relationship that I think people are going to be really surprised
04:42to see sort of what the arc is there.
04:44Oh, interesting.
04:45And I know, I mean, you were sitting right there when Mitch and Mark were like, I had
04:48punched you.
04:49I mean, really, how much longer do we have to listen to this bull from him?
04:53Your handling of her is not the way I would handle a woman.
04:56I'm sorry.
04:57It bothers me if this was my friend.
04:59Oh, my God.
05:00I'd punch you.
05:02What the is going on?
05:05Ain't nobody punching James.
05:06Wow, wow.
05:07This just got to be a reunion.
05:09I'm going to send you off to the spa now, and I'm going to be here alone overdosing on beta
05:14blockers, um, because that was tough.
05:18I mean, what's going through your head in that moment?
05:20There was a little bit of part of me, this was, like, close to the end, right?
05:24And I was a little bit like, wow, thank you for waking up, gentlemen.
05:28I was like, this is sort of what I wanted to be feeling the entire time.
05:32But no, um, I think it's a testament to how chill everybody was until that point.
05:36And yeah, I think James, um, I think in part because, like, I don't think any of those guys
05:41saw James initially as a threat to any of their games.
05:44And then for James to come in and sort of swoop Luann off her feet, I think it was not only
05:50surprising for them, but deeply frustrating for them because they were sort of like this
05:53dork.
05:54And, um, listen, he, he's a vibe.
05:57So you can't deny.
05:58What about, um, Ashley?
06:00Is Wally's hard to get approach?
06:02What do you think about that?
06:03Do you think it's pushing her more toward Ralph?
06:05Yeah, it's frustrating.
06:06I really like Wally a lot.
06:08And I think he's like such a catch for a lot of people.
06:11I don't know that he fully understood what he signed up for by the end of it, because
06:17as much as I understand where he's coming from and how frustrating it must be to be in
06:21his position to really, like, be into one person on that show and have her be doing what she
06:26came there to do, which is date around and experiment and, you know, make connections
06:29with lots of people, I can understand where both of them are coming from.
06:33Do you think that Ralph has what it takes to fix her daddy issues?
06:36I don't know.
06:37I think it's going to require a full team.
06:39Um, to fix Ashley's daddy issues.
06:43It might take more than one.
06:44Said with love.
06:44She, she, she would be the first to admit, I think.
06:47Yes.
06:48Um, well, Giselle definitely seemed less excited about the men there.
06:52Do you think she could have been a little bit more open to the process or was she just
06:55not vibing?
06:55No, you know what?
06:56And I, this, I think this got cut, but we had a nice sit down, Giselle and I, where
07:02we talked a little bit about why she was sort of resistant to the process in a lot of
07:07ways and I think it's because Giselle, like her dad was an icon and this incredibly powerful,
07:12intelligent, you know, man who I think set the bar really high for Giselle and so Giselle
07:18is not one to, you know, throw her heart out willy nilly, you know?
07:22And so, um, Giselle also goes on a bit of a journey.
07:25And I think we're starting to see that with, um, some of the new guys that have come in
07:30and, uh, you know, I think people will, again, I don't want to sound like a broken letterhead,
07:35be kind of surprised about where Giselle ends up at the end of the season.
07:37Well, which housewives or Bravo liberties would you want to see on future seasons?
07:40Oh, so this is like, this is the question, you know, to end all questions.
07:44I think, like, my go-to, like, housewife answers are, uh, Heather Gay, I think, you know,
07:50she's given us so much, she is, you know, she's sort of the centerpiece of every finale on Salt Lake
07:55and so why not give her a little bit of a reward, send her off to an island with a bunch of men.
07:59Um, Adriana Romero from Miami, which is back now, I think is also would be an incredible pick.
08:05Um, she, she has, she ticks a lot of the boxes, I think, to be a star on that show.
08:10And then, you know, I think some young blood would be cool, I would love to see, you know, Paige, uh, you know,
08:15she's, she's free now, you know, she has a clean schedule, so we'd love to see her.
08:20And then also, like, from Summer House 2, I think someone who would benefit greatly from the show
08:24and we would benefit greatly from seeing her is Lindsay.
08:27Um, she has so much more to give on reality TV and I would love to see, uh, more of her, for sure.
08:32Yes, well, both of those women, we can't let them go, we can't let them go yet.
08:36What about if it was, like, a guy's version?
08:39Yeah, so we were just talking about this off, off camera.
08:43I, I understand, um, the impulse.
08:46I think it would grossly misunderstand what people want to see, um, from the show
08:50if we put too many men on the show.
08:52But I, you know, I think there's, it's tough because you don't watch any of the show
08:58where the men are on and, like, love them, right?
09:03So I guess, I, I don't know, um, I guess Shep would be interesting to see.
09:07He's gone through some, you know, he's definitely, um, been through the ringer this last season
09:12when, when it comes to love.
09:14He could use a win for sure.
09:16Um, and then, uh, I guess, who else?
09:20I'm trying to think of, like, a good man on Bravo right now
09:23who's not already married or in a relationship.
09:25Um, I guess for chaos' sake, um, Sandoval would be really fun, uh, to see.
09:32Uh, I would just love to see him, like, more of what we got on Traitor's, singing into dolls,
09:36um, you know, uh, just delusion from top to bottom would be really fun to see on the show.
09:41We need delusion.
09:42Delusion is the fuel space.
09:43Absolutely.
09:43I mean, that's what Bravo runs on, you know?
09:45Is there anything else you can tease about the finale episode?
09:48Um, the finale episode is my least favorite suit that I wear in the whole show.
09:55We ran out of wardrobe.
09:57I look like I'm going to a prom in 2017.
10:00Oh, no.
10:00Um, but I'm trying to think of, like, what I can get away with teasing without getting in trouble
10:05as my Bravo PR rep is sitting dressed off camera.
10:08Um, it's very dramatic.
10:10I think there's a lot of tears, uh, and a lot of, of twists that I don't think anybody is going to see coming.
