00:00After three seasons of Tulsa King, I've got to know, what keeps you excited about playing Dwight Manfredi?
00:06It's just a manifestation of my inner longing to play myself pretty much a character and see how far I can keep that alive.
00:16Just drawing on my own experience and own natural rhythm, not trying to overact or catch up or play, chasing some other actor's performance.
00:27Just trying to be original.
00:30Dwight is a mentor to his young crew as they mature into a season without lit.
00:34Do you feel like you've taken on that role with some of the actors on the set?
00:37I think when I walk on the set, I'm definitely the founding father of their, you know, home man time.
00:45And I just like to insert myself and if I can help what I think is a performance, like slow it down, raise it up, so on, I try to do that.
00:54I don't know if I'm stepping on toes, but I would have liked someone to do that for me.
01:00Well, when they call you the general and they call you the OG, you see that real life flipping through.
01:07Throughout the season, you've acted opposite formidable co-stars like, you know, McDonough, Frank Grillo.
01:12Now in season three, you have James Russo, Kevin Pollack, and Robert Patrick.
01:16Is there any actor in particular you get excited to see on the call sheet next to yours?
01:21I like Sam Jackson.
01:23And actually, I, let me see, Robert Patrick, I know we're going to, sparks are going to fly.
01:31So, and I also like the romantic side.
01:33It gives me a little bit of a break.
01:35Well, I was going to say, I think you and Dana Delaney have beautiful chemistry.
01:39You know, why does White stay with her, even though he realizes that he might not be the best for her?
01:47I think that she has a little quirky, nasty side to her.
01:53And I felt that the first time she, I said, wow, flirtatious.
01:58I'm like this old guy.
01:59I can't believe how lucky I am.
02:01And she rekindles something I thought I completely lost.
02:06Because I've lost everyone in my life.
02:08And I thought, oh, well, when that happens, you probably lose the longing to love.
02:12You don't have confidence in your love anymore.
02:15You feel like you're just fading away.
02:17So she revitalized me that way.
02:19And that's why I love her so much.
02:21Dwight and Bill Bevilacqua have entered into a tense truce in season three.
02:26Can these two play nice with each other?
02:27You know what it is?
02:31It's a gangster code that DTA, don't trust anybody.
02:36It's just in the bones, in the genes.
02:40In every one gangster DNA, the ones that survive, you've got to be so shrewd and cold-blooded.
02:47So it's fragile.
02:49Let's put it that way.
02:50I think Scarlett is wonderful on the show.
02:53And I'm so excited to see Spencer get an expanded role a little bit in season three.
02:58How pleased are you that she's following in your footsteps?
03:01I got mixed feelings about that because I know how hard this business can be, even on the best of people.
03:09There is a time limit that plays to your favor and away from your favor.
03:14So I didn't want her to do it, but she loves it.
03:19And what she started to do now is write.
03:21She's written two screenplays, and that's an accomplishment in itself because that's a lot of discipline.
03:28All my daughters write.
03:30Isn't that weird?
03:30Every one of them.
03:32And I hate writing.
03:33I do.
03:34I find it.
03:35You know what I'm talking about.
03:36It's hard.
03:37Well, you found a lot of success with that, though.
